To fixius: Hey i'm so sorry to hear that man. My condolences =(.
To OIP: Torn it to shreds? Just admit you don't even know what to say, man.
To Superstar/ anyone else who just don't see the point: So your logic is that in the OPverse, you get to be the Pirate King even if you're not the strongest? So someone stronger just walks up to Luffy and says: "hey i'm stronger than you but i won't bother taking One Piece from you, i'll just let you have everything in the world, and just give up on the 20-year-long dream of getting One Piece, because you're now the Pirate King." If you thought that way then there's seriously no point debating with you anymore.
I'm not saying that that scenario isn't impossible. Heck, anything's possible. But is that likely gonna happen? You sure aren't very practical as a person. And don't you dare insult Oda by saying "it's just a manga Oda can do anything he wants". You don't even understand the manga.
Ok, I give credit that Zoro can have skill fluctuate with reference to Luffy's power, that's essence of this debate, and I agree it's disputable and therefore we argue. My stand is that Luffy's dream is higher, and therefore in accordance to Oda's theme of dreams, Luffy will become stronger, and your stand is that Zoro will still be equal to Luffy. This is fine, and I doubt we can persuade one another otherwise.
But saying things like that? You just lost all your credibility man. What's with "Robin will trash Luffy"?? Yeah, maybe, since Luffy could be like Sanji, or he just will refuse to hit Robin (you can see how gentlemanly Oda is with all his colourwalks and mini-stories). If you're talking in terms of pure power and skill, such a statement only makes me give up hope on you, you know that??
And lastly, for those who still shun "dreams" like it's just merely a word, or even merely silly fantasies (mind you, i don't mean the thing you do when you're asleep), then i truly believe you've totally missed the point of One Piece. If you need hard evidence, it's clear in CP9 arc. Luffy, thinking that Robin betrayed them, lost to Lucci pretty quickly, lost all his strength. After finding the truth out, he, and Zoro, each could rip a whole building apart when they could not at first. What does this have to do with Luffy's dream? Eveything! When you become Pirate King, you need your nakama right? How would you feel when your nakama's betrayed you? How would you feel, then, if you found out that your nakama was framed, and you needed to save her?
Oh and i almost forgot, regarding Zoro accepting Luffy being inferior to him, well I realised i won't be able to convince you since it's a matter of opinion from observing the characters. I actually now agree that he probably won't leave even if he feels he's stronger than Luffy, but still, I also think he won't accept it. And neither will Luffy himself, since to be Pirate King.. bah, you know the rest.
Oh, and the Mr 1. example is already countered by the Enel example, ok? So don't even bring it up. And if need an example of Luffy being able to beat razor blades, just read Chapter 209, page 15, again. Don't say lame things like "but it's sand! it doesn't count!" (and make yourself look like a loser) because blades are still blades.
Seriously, if you're going to keep arguing like that, with no depth in your answers..
