Mark's pretty much the joker of the group. He always finds it hard to believe that they're dealing with supernatural things, even if the said thing is happning right in front of his face. He's very goofy and also likes Shatumi alot, but Shatumi just considers him annoying. He likes working out and stuff, but no matter what he does, he could never impress anyone because he's… well, a moron. XD Also, he's very protective over his little sister... Sometimes too protective, which usually makes him jump to conclusions.
Shina is Mark's younger sister. She's often embarrased by her brother and usually likes to stay away from him. She's usually hanging out with Zack. She's a very curious person, as well. Once something catches her eye, she'll be sure to get to the middle of it no matter what.
Ruka is a Spirit Medium. A lengendary one, in fact. She's known to pretty much any spirit in the story. Since she's old, she looks to train Shatumi to being a Spirit Medium, because she see's promise in her.

Wonderful. Was that done with a tablet?? Man, I wish I could color like you. How did you learn to do it on the computer so well.
Personally can draw well, I suck at using a tablet. I usually just scan my stuff… I can't color either... Does anyone know of a good tutorial or anything?? :sad: One that doesn't give vague info, and just skip steps, assuming you know them??

For your lake monster, I am assuming it is the Lochness Monster. Cryptozoology is always a cool thing from time to time to get intrested into. My favorites would have to be the Kraken and the Mothman, two that have been heavily beileved to be real, with the Kraken being a Giant Squid possibly and the Mothman having tons of least questionable pictures. As for the manga about it, seems strange, but could be good. I myself though needs some sort of action whether it is tennis or guys made out of rubber fighting guys who can turn into ice.

And of course I'll add action, alot of it. The hero has super powers after all, and he alone [that's why he breaks really early on the series]. The stuff about adventuring nature only comes a little later, kinda like when the SH entered the GL. Something of that weight.
The hero needs to have a best friend too, which will always stay and be another hero.
Anyways, yeah, I guess it does sound lame. ALOT. But I hope I'll make it better with it, like many other good stuff have such lame plot when read boldly.
I have one idea for an arc resolving that Bigfoot, having an underground society addicted to verious stuff humans could defend against with their large number. They're all very different, but with that they're still equal strength why, which is why action will resolve around badass moments action of OHKO this time. The most predictable arc I'll make ever.
Ah, yeah, I have one more idea of exploring life on sea level, thing that is still a mystery to mankind till this day, and they say we only have 1% of sea animals known. It's gonna help with Atlantis [HOWEVER THE HELL YOU WRITE THAT] alot.
I really like this thread. However, my Viking manga isn't coming along as well as some of yours. I'm uncertain about what direction to take, so I'm working on my art for now. I figure that it'll come to me sooner or later. If I can scan some pictures later, I will. Meanwhile, I'll look to this thread for inspiration, as you all seem so dedicated and hard working!

Ah okay, thanks. Could you be a bit more specific? I see the bracelet should more likely be further down the wrist, is that one of the things you meant? And her right upper arm should be longer, hmmn… I could try put that down to the angle it's at, lol.

indeed they do. colorspreads are usually colored with copic markers.
Just look at Naruto, pretty much every color spread is markers.
anything thats good but inexpensive? Copic markers go from 100 for 12 to 400for 72!

aside from the mishapen/disproportional fists, i think this drawing is pretty good.
the second guy is named Black Heart Kurosame, and he's disproportional on purpose under his coat he has some mishapen parts used for fighting he's the swordsman of the group, and i like his unique design. he'd be the equivalent to franky in the group, weird and out there.

My first drawing, like, ever. I know it needs a lot of work, mainly because I have no idea on how to draw ears! His wearing chainmail by the way, I just couldn't be stuffed drawing the details. I outlined him with a pen so it'd look neater, or something.

Naru, Engineer of the El Toro, proficient in giant wrenches, hammers and various mechanical traps. My way of adding steam punk mechas into my manga. He's the only one in the main crew to not have Demi-god powers.

yeah I'm drawing a comic about Dodgeball (with modified rules). It's up to chapter 3 right now and so far it's frikkin awesome.
The story follows a 15 year old boy and his dumbass bear who are both indepted to their village bar. They want to get a place in the Great Dodgeball Tournament and try and win some prize money.. but it isn't easy because to get a place they need to find one of the sixteen tournament pass scattered around the world. If they find someone with a pass, they have to beat them in Dodgeball. Also, they need to gather a team of at least two more people (bears aren't allowed to enter). Oh.. and they've only got 11 days to do it. The main character Soren is a master tactian (as well as an idiot) so you get to see his super awesome brain think up stratedgies on obtaining passes as well as defeating powerful enemies.
Along the way they meet friends and make enemies. Here is a list of things they find on just the first day.
-A stereotypical pirate who thinks Soren and Bowbow is trying to steal his buried treasure (insane and paranoid)
-An evil girl with shadows under her eyes who secretely plans on killing Soren if he doesn't pay up in time
-A couple of criminals who try to jack a train they are on
-A wise, drunken old martial arts master who can bust through steel without even touching it
-A pool of blood-thirty Kappas
-An annoying snot nose kid who claims to be Soren's number 1 fan.
-A crazy mustached ballerina chef seen on a cooking show and in person later in the series
-A rich man who buys a Dodgeball pass for his spoilt son who sends an assassin to kill Soren in his sleep to prevent anyone from winning it
-A beautiful female spy who at first trying to infiltrate an evil organisation but decides to keep an eye on Soren instead. Soren has no idea hes being followed but Bowbow does. She has elite fighting skills.
It's a crazy action packed story but is also has light-hearted touching moments. I have the whole story planned out.

Woo-ha-ha! Chapter 1 of my comic is finished! Hooray for personal milestones! Perfect time for new readers, too, since the intro to the series is complete!

Congratulations! That's a big milestone you've hit. I'll look forward to chapter 2. Ever since I hit the halfway point of the rough draft, I've been taking a break. I'll have some stuff put up when I resume working.

That was really cool. The biggest complaint that I have is that you tried to fit the explanation for the main plot on the last couple pages right after Doren kills the guy, so it seems kind of sudden.

Well, if two guys are staring each other down, I doubt they'd have their eyes wide open like that. They'd probably be squinting at each other. I don't really know what you mean by "intensity backgrounds," but I'm guessing that you're asking what types of scenery to have the characters in? It looks like you tried drawing a mountain range, which could use a lot of detail (trees, a sun, clouds, etc.).

I had a very weird thought about a manga today. I've been planning to do something about vikings, but I've had difficulties trying to fit them into an interesting plot. I decided to look at it in a different angle, perhaps combining something I loved (vikings) with another thing.

I had a very bizzare thought, that a band somehow ended up going back in time to the Viking era, where they had to fight vikings…. With their music!
... Yeah.
Basically, the instruments would cause effects: a kickass drum solo could cause earthquakes, a bass would cause massive vibration to the ground, causing people to lose balance etc.
It's totally crazy. It probably wouldn't work. I won't be making this into a main idea, unless you guys like it or something. Just felt like sharing my crazy mind. Plus, I want to hear other random thoughts. Because, lets face it, most of One Piece is ludicrous, which is one of the reasons it's great.
the viking and music sounds like a good idea. why not try something less shonen?
instead of using music to fight vikings. make a story about vikings and music. so instead of vikings that fight all the time, the story can focus on some of the vikings who enjoy music and started to make their own musical instruments using the weapons they have.
too many fighting manga lately, something with less fighting and more fun would be a nice change. =)

Well, "copying", in general, is not really a good thing. It'd be better if you came up with his/her own emotions by how you want the character to be.

and now that I know that some of my drawing have the same emotions..I never will eb able to use them or ever create my manga since its it will be nothing but a stupid copy or sometihng else :cwy:
I've been thiking of another concept of Sky/Space Pirates. It would be a blend of One Piece, Outlaw Star and that Disney movie Treasure Planet. Definately inspired by Rogue Galaxy as well.

Is that directed at me? If so, then you'd be right. I haven't been in a college level course for English, but considering that I'm on a fansite based on a Shonen manga, that's not really surprising is it?
