I've played all 6 originals as well as 7 and I liked FF5 the most but Tactics Advance even more.

The remaking and expanding of Final Fantasy games needs to stop now.
This minute.
Yeah sure, I'd love to have FF 1 and 2 updated on PSP. Yeah wouldn't it be nice to play FF6 again on GBA.
But hey, you'd know what would be a lot more fun?
NEW GODDAMN GAMES!
I'm a huge supporter of remakes. I don't see it as milking because if you can make something better, then friggin' do it!
But this is starting to get pathetic.
Since the turn of the century, how many times has FF1 been repackaged? Okay, they add something new each time.
You know, that's swell folks. I'm glad you feel attached enough to a games older than many video games players these days but wouldn't it be great if you used those magnificent creative juices for NEW games?
When was the last time SE put out something as unique as Chrono Trigger? Parasite Eve? Evo? Ehrgeiz? Einhander? Treasure Hunter G?
SE has stopped being SE and has officially become 'The company that makes Mana, FF, DQ and KH games'. I mean seriously! Stop and think for a moment!!!! What's the last new franchise or venture they attempted? Off the top of my head I can only think of Bouncer and that shit-fest was HOW many years ago?
I don't care about the moral aspect of it. I could give two shits about that. I just wish they'd try to do something unique and different like they used to rather than retreading the same ground again and again.
In fact, Im beginning to think that the only reason I've tolerated many FF installments was because of the cool stuff they'd put out in-between to kind of clear the water.
Sorry for the sudden outburst but seeing pictures of the NEWEST (and probably not last) FF1 and 2 remakes just made something snap.

I've been playing FFVI over the course of this week, I'm like 3 hours in. I picked Sabin as my path and I just beat the Ghost train level. Now I guess I gotta jump down this Water fall, but this one monster kept kicking my ass.
-
From what I saw of those screens, it didn't really look like a remake so much as a just a port to another system, and unless I missed something, it doesn't look like its gonna be any different than Final Fantasy:Origins (PS1 update of FF1 & 2).
Yeah, it definitely seem like SE has been doing a gaggle of remakes and re-releases, but as long they're doing it for platforms which have yet to experience a Final Fantasy, then I don't really care much.
Actually in contrast, the GBA Final Fantasy V >>>> PS1 version (FF anthology)

@_Meh_:
I have to say 'none' since I thoroughly enjoy just about any FF game I play.
I've played through I, IV, VI, VIII, and Tactics. Mystic Quest, too. Wasn't so fond of MQ, but oh well. I still stay up late playing FFT or FF I on my old NES.
good man, good man

Haha I remember the demos it looked and played excellently, then when the game came out it only looked excellent.
I can't deny I'd love an FF7 remake, it would just look brilliant and they'd sort out the mistakes in the text.

They are adding more stuff but it's to the point of absurdity.
Between PSP, GBA, Cell Phone and PS1 ports/remakes it's ridiculous.

They're milking the titles. They know if they slap "final fantasy" onto the name, it is going to sell. It's the same thing with that new megaman network thingy. I'm sure it's not a "bad" game, but why the hell did they have to slap "megaman" on the title. can't it be something new and cool?
they're going to milk FF till it dies a horrible horrible death, and then try something else. Obviosly, they are already killing some people's interest in the FF series. points to gregs post
I admit, I am excited about FFVI for GBA cause it's my favorite, but I could care less about any new FF game anymore.

Well, as long as the games are still enjoyable, I honestly don't care if they go up to FFLXVI. Like I said before, I loved every Final Fantasy game that I've ever played.
-
I love remakes myself (especially if they are portable). I love the GBA remakes that have been coming out (since those were my favorite FF games). I see it as kind of like preserving historical games.
However, I think a certain amount of time should pass before they do a remake. It seems too recent for there to be more FFI and FFII remakes.
-
So far, mine areFFIV, FFV from the GBA and FFIX from the PS1 since 9 was the ONLY multiplayer version of the RPG.
-
I think they should remake some of the older dragon quest titles that never made it here, namely 5 and 6. It would be nice to see more games like ff3 that were never released here once, rather than games that have been released here like four times already.
-
I've chosen FF X, cause i love when i see any 99999 damage hit. and becaus of the PAL version the dark aeons are great.
but all i've played are cool, 7, 8,9 ,X-2 and now finding time to play 2 and 6.
and waiting for 12 cause i still have to wait another 8 days!!!

I picked Tactics because its Final Fantasy Motherfucking Tactics
seriously this game oozes all the elements I love in RPG's lack of repetitive fights, compelling characters awesome story, and enough customization to throw a shoe at.
-
I was obsessed with Tactics for a couple weeks this past summer, and then my playstation broke. /CRY ;_; Tactics definately was the funnest of the final fantasy games I have played. Story was somewhat confusing, but I heard it pieces together and becomes the best.

is the PS1 version the same as the GBA version with all the classes, judges and 2-3 main characters?

FFTA to a lot of FFT fans is a JOKE.

really now? Because thats the only version I heard of befor I knew of a PSX version
and I guess Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is not a FF game
-
I don't exactly dislike FFTA, but yeah, I prefer the original FFT.

If it would force them to make a kick-ass new game, I'd actually like to see Enix opt out and Square hit rock bottom like they did before publishing FF I. It would be a pity if it had to come to that, though.
