Hm, the direction for the end of the episode didn't really land for me. I found the visualization of Shanks's Haki lightning literally restraining Ryokugyu (who awkwardly evaporates into thin air between cutaways - albeit it was like that in the manga too) to be rather goofy and I didn't really feel any weight from that sequence, unfortunately. I feel like Shanks's line read at the end when the camera closes in on his face should've been more forceful too.
The rest of the episode was decent visually; Henry Thurlow style could be seen from a mile away during the scenes of Ryokugyu's Logia form buring and regenerating, Masayuki Sato once again stopped by to do some art, and I even saw Yoichi Mitsui's name in the credits for the first time in forever. He used to be a regular for years and years but seems to have gone elsewhere not long into Wano. I'm gonna guess that Hisada's going to be the AD in charge of the next episode since the preview shows a lot of the rough, sketchy style he's started using since Udon.
I'm surprised that Uta's cameo was kept as a silhouette versus just plopping in some footage of her from that flashback two-parter RED tie-in from the 1020s.
