Damn it was only a few weeks I was reading about something he did. And now he’s gone.
RIP Those We Lost in 2022

Insane and tragic. Nobody should die that young.

Rest in Peace.

Kevin Conroy, THE voice of Batman, died yestday, from cancer, at 66This one hurts. This one really hurts.
-
I saw him once at a Con. I wasn’t there to see him, but his table was right next to Brent Spiner, who I was there to see. I got there before signing time had started so none of the guests were out yet. Suddenly, Kevin steps out from behind the curtain and gives the whole spiel: “I am vengeance, I am the night, I. AM. BATMAN.” The whole crowd cheers and I got chills. Brent then steps up to his table and says with as much gravitas “I. AM. Not Batman.” Everyone laughs. It was a wonderful moment and what I immediately thought of when I heard this. I’m not big into Batman, but he was, and always will be MY Batman.

Not the only legend we lost today. Comedian Gallagher has passed too: https://www.tmz.com/2022/11/11/comedian-gallagher-dead-dies-watermelon/
Crap, man, just...crap. This really has been the year a lot of my celebs from my childhood has passed on.
-
This story alone justified this year's DC Pride. R.I.Fucking.P. to a real one.
-
@Mr-Hide F**k this one hurts. Hard to find words.
-
RIP Kevin.. I been rewatching Batman the Animated Series recently. Kevin did a great job as both Bruce and Batman. Also the scene in Justice League Unlimited when Batman sing is still one of the best moments in my opinion of the DCAU.
-
One of if not the best Batman we've ever had.
I've been rewatching Batman Beyond and he did a fantastic job playing an older and embittered Bruce Wayne/Batman.
-
I wish this was some bullshit with some fake verified member of Twitter fucking around.
-
Wait, Batman's voice actor is dead at just 66? That sucks. That's the Batman I grew up with. I hate this.
-
Kevin AND Gallagher on the same day. It's cruel.
-
This Kevin Conroy news has hit me really hard.
Kevin was one of the first guests I had the privilege to meet at my first Dublin convention in 2014 and I got to meet him again at Dublin Comic Con in 2017. Both times, he was so lovely and kind from the few moments we got to chat and take pictures together.
To say this is a monumental loss would be a HUGE understatement. This is a man who was basically the voice of a generation of kids growing up in the 90's when he voiced the caped crusader who, much like what Peter Cullan's Optimus Prime in Transformers did for kids in the 80's, had made a huge, lasting impact on a generation of kids who looked up to him through his vocal performance alone.
The voice acting community have lost an absolute legend of the industry and his impact will be felt for generations to come.
Rest In Peace, Kevin Conroy, you really were the perfect Batman.

Being a long time fan of Power Rangers, this really hit me hard. RIP JDF
-
Oof. Tommy.
RIP JDF -
Aw man. Green Ranger was the best.

Kristie Alley has passed at 71. Another claimed by cancer: https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/kristie-alley-dead-at-71
-
Wingnut bullshit not withstanding that’s a shock.
-
Bit of a shock, yes. But she was awful as she got older.
-
Elaborate?
-
Mostly a super-Scientologist, Trump-supporter (although apparently got less so), and got in trouble with the LGBTQ+ community for being really insensitive.
-
Also bought into the whole “Obama is bad” and was apart of the whole “Hollywood is mean to us Conservatives” scthick.
-
Ah I see, still though she wasn't a bad actor despite all that.
That said, Mills Lane, famed boxing referee and judge, has passed at 85: https://www.foxnews.com/sports/mills-lane-famed-boxing-referee-called-tyson-holyfield-ear-biting-incident-bout-dead
For you cartoon nuts, he voiced himself in Celebrity Deathmatch. Oddly I know him more from his brief stint as a TV judge back in the day before I saw that show. RIP, dude.
-
I legit thought he passed years ago but even more shocking was the fact he was only 85.
-
@Time-Control-Magician Maybe because he was bald for so long, it made him look older then he was?
-
That and at least as I remember him he was short.
-
Pelé, one of the world's most famous soccer players, has passed at 82: https://nypost.com/2022/12/29/soccer-icon-pele-dead-at-82-after-health-battles/
-
They come in threes. Always.
-
I don't know much about Association Football, but Pele was the footballer. Like Muhammad Ali to Boxing and Michael Jordan to Basketball. RIP.
-
Former Impact Wrestling announcer and Shop at Home host, Don West have passed away. I always remember Don during the late 90's during the late night hours trying to sale Mark McGuire rookie cards, Pokemon cards, and Beanie Babies on Shop at Home. I been watching a lot of the older TNA/Impact wrestling show on Pluto tv, Don did a great job on those shows. Don will be missed.

Damn that was an unexpected one.

A couple clips of her going around Twitter are the hardest I've laughed at anything all year

former Pope Benedict XVI has died at age 95
-
Quite the swath of people to end 2022 with.
-
Jeez. Did Death look at his list and was like, "Oh crap! I forgot to get all these people this year!"
