Thanks for making the thread.
I read the first chapter, and I didn't see anything particular notorious, I don't think it will last very much, but we will see.
-
I know a family of spy which is so much better…
I didn't manage to finish the chapter so yeah, I'm not sure it will last long either -
Agreed. Nothing special or captivating about it. Just like every new series since Jujutsu Kaisen, over a year ago (Chainsaw-man being the sole exception).
-
Not a good sign when you are already tired of the shticks of characters in the first chapter.
-
Bumping (?!?) this thread bc this is one of my favorites in jump rn and I was wondering if anyone else has been following along???
I've found the series to be pretty solid overall. I've been enjoying Momo as the villain a lot!
Shinzo, kengo and futaba are my favs, but kyoichiro has really grown on me as the story has progressed.
Tbh it's frustrating to see that it still hasn't received an anime announcement yet considering it pulls relatively the same numbers as UU as far as I'm aware and a handful of the even younger series have received anime announcements already. All I can think of is that UU and Mashle are in their final stretch so maybe they're waiting for the same with Yozafam??? Idk :/
-
It's been 7 days, so I hope this isn't considered doubleposting (the only other forum I've been on had a 24 hr rule and I've failed to find the designated rules for posting yet).
Momo is as mysterious as ever. He's been such an entertaining villain so far.
It was a very nice chapter.
Also, happy slightly-belated 3rd anniversary (Aug 26th)!!! -
Yes Momo makes a good villain. His mad love for his familly is well written. This chapter was also nice which shows what normal love should be
-
Another possible kyoichiro vs momo skirmish makes me wonder if/when we'll ever get to see kyoichiro's blooming. He's the only sibling we haven't seen. Though I suppose a boat wouldn't be a very good place to activate it.
-
The most recent two chapters surrounding kengo and Shinzo are great. They might be my fav of the series so far. Some very pretty art too.
-
I wouldn't say I'm a fan of the series that keeps up with it or knows what's going on, but I have to say the latest chapter was pretty well done. I heard a rumor that an anime is around the corner for this one?
-
The rumor first started around the same time the blue box and Sakamoto days anime rumors appeared (august-ish if I remember correctly?)
Fingers crossed for a jump festa announcement this December!
-
Kyoichiro's blooming finally got mentioned!!! I have been waiting ages for this. I hope we get to see it soon.
-
Oh no, not the whole fam! I wonder if kyoichiro managed to evade the mind control or not.
-
it seems so but i wonde how he did. It rather seems like Momo wanted to confront him
-
We're finally going to see it!!! Kyoichiro's blooming!!!
Speculation: I'm gonna guess taiyo will step in at some point in their duel before kyoichiro can finish him.
My only concern is that if he's defeated and brought into custody, there's a good chance he'll escape again. -
It's here! Kyoichiro's blooming!!!
Ngl I have know idea if any of Momo's words can be trusted at this point, even with him seemingly coming back to his senses. Too sketchy. The damage is done. -
According to leaks, Mission: Yozakura Family has officially announced its TV Anime adaptation this week in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #3.
I read the first chapter and I've been peeking at the latest ones with little context, so I'll definitely give this a watch!
-
Anime news --LONG overdue imo.
I've been reading this series since it debuted so I'm very happy rn. Lol.
Congrats, Yozafam! -
So it looks like this is the end for momo at last? He was a super fun antagonist.
Asa gives off final boss vibes
-
I knew the moment kai asked him to think about what kind of spy he'd like to be that he'd answer with 'kyoichiro'
With all his siblings teaching him, taiyo seems more of an all-rounder.
-
I found this kind of recap on each character really helpful for someone jumping into the series. Crazy still got to wait until 2024 for the anime...
-
Taiyo and Mutsumi won the pairs popularity poll. Not really surprised. Lol.
-
asa's so creepy (a different kind of creepy from momo too).
-
Incoming training arc/montage? Maybe? Or will we be getting a few more missions in? Is Asa the final big bad? We've been introduced to what seems like the source of the problem but it completely lacks the "final stage" vibes if that makes any sense. Idk if it's bc nothing's ever really felt super high stakes in this series or there's going to be more to come after dealing with Asa...
-
Asa is defo the final villain. I'm sure smething will happen to raise the stakes. Evn though the current plan is to build up strength until they are in their early 20s (which honestly I thought Kyoshiro already was?) I'm sure the fight will happen this year. I feel like the final chapter of the series will be the proper wedding cermeony between Taiyo and Mutsumi, that they can't have until next year.
-
Time skip!!!! Aahhhhhh!!!!!
Their kiddies look so cute. Glad they inherited their dad's hair swirl lol.
Tbh not a fan of the "training" stuff everyone got. It's trying too hard to be more on the comedic side and it doesn't jive with me. Like, I'm sure they'll learn a lot offscreen but some of the stuff was kind of meh...like ryu's whole schtick with shinzo. And the shion stuff too a little. -
I wasn't sure if they would do a time-skip or not but damn, they really did it. I'm curious how all this training is going to pay off, seems like each one is deigned to remove their main weakness (Ryu's lack of confidence, Futaba's stress, etc).
-
I am expecting a swerve incoming with those children and they are not actually theirs. At least not by blood.
-
Little menace to society Hifumi takes after Uncle Kyoichiro! Love it lololol
-
-
Timeskips always bring some form of excitement but I'm a lil wary on how long we're going to be spending time on the twins.
At first I thought maybe the spy school would be used to babysit the twins in a way while the the fam reunites and beats the bad guy, but now that we know Kyoichiro is the principal there...
Looks like we're probably going to get a mini arc with them at the minimum. -
As long as the twins end up being key for the final arc then I think it's fine. We don't know how the ret of the family are going to be reintroduced yet, but seeing their new selves through the eyes of the twins is a fun idea.
-
People who've read since the beginning, does all of this feel expected as a part of the final arc preparation? I read the beginning to get the premise and I've been peeking at the current chapters for a little while, so with all I know it feels like the shenanigans with the twins fit a sequel after everything's resolved like a lot of series tends to do. They're also so intelligent for their age, is that par for the course in this universe?
-
The two of them being intelligent for their age fits the universe, yes (or at least the insane shenanigans of the Yozakura Family). I'm kinda surprised they did jump ahead to this point though, I sort of assumed that they would become a proper family with kids and proper marriage at the end of the seris but I guess not. At eastit will make theri training and presumable strength increases feel a little more justified.
-
I felt that a time skip for training was coming ever since the introduction of the other gold rank spies.
-
Kyoichiro and Hifumi. Two peas in a pod. Lololol. It's everything I wanted.
-
Kengo's post TS outfit is a total downgrade imo. The beanie can stay, but the track suit needs to go. Paired with the mophead it doesn't mesh well together.
Shion's new design is neither better or worse. It's on par with her old look. -
Yozakura soup! Haha. I hope nanao's okay :(
-
The post-TS arc has been amazing so far. Cool moment for Kyoichiro. Also, Hifumi is the best!
-
post TS nanao is fantastic. Lol. So blunt.
Been really enjoying this arc.Surprised to see Ai get a volume cover all to herself considering she hasn't been up to much in the manga for quite awhile. I was thinking maybe Asa or tsubomi (or both) would get the cover instead. Or even momo (and/or rei).
-
They seem to have pivoted to just having 1 character on a cover now rather than doing a scene. Although I would bet on Alpha and Hifumi being together on the cover of the next volume. That or Momo, given what is covered in the next volume.
-
Time to crash a wedding!

Kyoichiro and Hifumi are still two peas in a pod!!! I adore them.
Finally back to alpha! -
It was a great chapter. Kyoichiro's speech on always being the strongest was really well done. And their reactions to Alpha being sick was very funny.
-
looks like we've finally entered the final final part of the story!
Anyone catch the anime premiere???
I'm so happy to see this series finally get animated. Hopefully more people will hop on the yozafam train now. It's what? The fourth oldest running weekly shonen jump series currently? People don't talk about it enough.
