It was in the match against Seibu; volume 17.
And the girl with long ponytails is Rinali from D.Gray-man. We've known that she's playable for a few weeks.
Looks like the new "leader" feature has been explained. From what I could tell: When your leader battle character KOs a normal opponent, you get an extra point. When your leader KOs your opponents leader, you get 2 extra points. For a battle character to be a leader, you have to have a help koma placed next to it. Nice feature I think, it takes advantage of the character in your deck that you use more.
Meleoron from Hunter X Hunter is the green guy w/ blonde hair next to Kurama. He's from the Chimera Ant arc he'll probably have the abillity to turn characters invisable.
Ok so to sum up…
[EDIT] Cerberos, Hiruma's dog from Eyeshield 21 is now a support character. You can see him next to Ryotsu in one of the screen pics.
And does anyone know who the claw/demon shadow guy is to the left of Seiya and Lady Armaroid?
I hope Rohan makes support. He was my favorite character from part 4.
Woah! The new scans look awesome. Only a little while to go until it's released now.
JW, does anybody know why they didn't add The Fist of North Star?
I could see one reason and that would be like fatal body part explosion but they could definately make those attack just normal damages
Fist of the North Star is no longer published bu Shueisa, or however you spell it.
I know Fist of the Blue Sky is in Comics Bunch. Isn't that like…Coamix or something? I know they were related to Gutsoon (Raijin Comics) and stuff. And I know that Sega/Sammy has the license for games and merchandise. And Sega also had something to do with Gutsoon/Raijin.
Anyway, I know nothing about licenses and that stuff, and how it prevents characters from appearing in games. But maybe it could have something to do with it.

Neither are DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, or Kinnikuman, but they made it into the game.

Many game publishers have lisences to the anime propertie. But they don't have the manga lisences, which makes the Jump games possible.
Also another question. I've never played the original version so I'm still a noob but I've seen some of the scan that you guys have been sharing generously but it says that there are different kinds of versions. What do they mean by that?
Are those version have a different type of battle Koma or something?
So is it because Sega/Sammy has the manga license (to use in games and merchandise) for Hokuto no Ken?
Are those version have a different type of battle Koma or something?
Sort of. In JSS each of Luffy's Battle Koma's had two special moves (activated by pressing X and Up and X). Normally the moves would be based around the point in the manga the panel was taken from, for example Luffy's 5 Koma was from his final battle with Crocodile, so one of his specials was Storm. His six koma was from Skypiea so both of his moves used the gold ball. The seven Koma was given to certain characters and would represent their most powerful power up at that moment in time. Goku had Vegito and SSj3, Luffy had Afro, Naruto had 1 Tail Kyuubi etc.
We are under the impression that the seven Komas will once again be for transformations and judging by screen shots 7Koma Luffy may use Gear 2 and/or 3 and 7Koma Naruto may use 3 Tailed Kyuubi. However we haven't seen any pictures of the Komas so we can't say for sure.

I see, so I'm guessing you can only use 1 version in a deck at a time? Oh! And also how many deck(s) did JSS allow you to make at once?
Regarding FOTNS, I don't believe Shueisha has the rights to it anymore. It would be badass to see Kenshiro in this game, but I don't believe it will happen.

You could only use a character once in your deck, unless you used the multy Koma glitch. In other words, if I put in Help Koma (1Koma) Luffy, I can't put in Luffy's Help or Battle Koma.
The game allowed you to make a maximum of 10 decks. It also had about 25 pre-built ones and you could trade decks with your friends. Alas I don't know anyone with JSS so I don't know what the limit is on that.

Finally a word on it I kinda get. It was bizarre that it wasn't even in the firt.
Since Afro Luffy is six koma, I'm going to assume that his seven koma is going to be Gear 2? That would be awesome.
This game is going to be freaking awesome, although it surprises me that there aren't more new Naruto characters. You'd think with that series huge fanbase that it would have at least a few new supports.
Well, we know that Gaara is in as a new support. And they're getting gay pirate Sasuke.

People think his 7-drop Koma will more likely be Gear 3. I think that if they keep the Afro Luffy with the same special attacks, I'll use it over Gear 2 or 3. Just because it's a bit smaller and has good specials. I use 5-drop over 7-drop because of that.
Yeah, I love Afro Luffy's specials, but the koma itself is a bit bulky (especially if you're like me and want to use two other five koma Mugiwara with him). I'd assume if they were to make his special Gear 3 that the size of his fist would be reduced somewhat, because if not, it's going to be a tiny bit hard to evade. :P
EDIT: Sasuke's new fruitfit's going to be in it? It's a good thing I don't normally play as him. >> I wonder if any other characters will get support koma. I could see anyone of the Sannin getting support koma (was Orochimaru even in the original game?).
Thank you to Serseno for this. The claw/shadow guy is Crystal boy arch-enemy of Cobra.
What the hell?! Where? And with Crystal Boy and Amaroid Lady in, he's still just a support?
Well thank god, I was afraid this game would have too many awesome characters to play as.
woiuld be awesome if every 7 Koma battle character got a super special.
Luffy for example, would go gear 3, and would shoot his fist, and anything in an area about halfd the vertical length of the stadium, would just be blown up. I mean all supports wiped out all the walls knocked down and everyone knocked off the cliff. but it would take like 5 power bars.

I'm hoping Rock Lee is brought back. That's about it.
OK, just did a quick calculation of information. Basically we've been promised 300 characters in this game from the fourty confirmed series, and so far we have (based on Wikipedia stats):
-50 battle characters
-66 support characters
-8 help characters
That's 124 characters so far confirmed for the game out of a promised 300. And as we know, there are still a few series that haven't gotten their "Vs." page, plus some of the characters from the previous game haven't been confirmed or denied on their status at this point. So hopefully many of the characters we want will be in this…I am just afraid that some series may get more favorable preference over others...

Agreed, but it makes sense from a marketing point of view. After all, why did you think Marvel started off by announcing Spider-Man, Cap and Wolverine were going to be in the new Marvel game? Because they're the big name heroes everyone knows and loves. Therefore they're more likey to draw people in.

Its sort of obvious that Luffy, Goku and Naruto are the first characters that get introduced in a massive, magazine-wide game, but from there its more about trying to balance out representation. My fear is that if lead characters like Cobra, Nube and Ta-chan are passed over for battle koma for the likes of Renji and Hitsugaya (no offense to those Bleach fans who like those two, but those names came to mind first), then things might be skewing towards a more modern demographic than one that has followed the magazine for years or a different period. While I know there are fifty battle characters so far, I just hope that these fifty aren't the only ones and the other two-hundred fifty characters are merely support for said fifty.
I was just browsing Wikipedia's entry on JUS and noticed four new images. The first two are just some of the previous black and white images in colour:
First
Second
The other two offer some answers about the L and R buttons and the Leader system, as well as mentioning a new feature for the help koma:
L and R Buttons
Leader system and Help Koma
Could someone offer some translations and/or explanations about the last two as Wiki has nothing.

Oh right. Sorry. I misread what you said earlier. Anyway, I completly agree. There are some characters I'd like to see in the game as either battle or even as a support and yet seem to be ignored (such as Tao Ren and HoroHoro from Shaman King). Ok granted some of the characters like Cobra are new to me so I can't say I honestly care either way (no offence to the fans) but none the less I too would like to see a bit more balance with characters. If a series has say at least three characters who can actually fight, then include all three as a battle characters instead of just one for that series. I mean they still have over 100 character slots left (apparently anyway), so i think they can add a few more per series.
Can someone change the server for the pic? I got a firewall thinking its porn.
Luffy can eat Meat mid battle?!
Looks like characters can taunt/power up mid battle.
I love Dio's and Don Patch's.
HOLY MONKEY TRUMPETS.
Is that an art book?!!
Is that the preorder bonus?!!
Man, if it is, I hope Play-Asia send me mine… I didn't get the postcards or whatever came with JSS (of course, I might've preordered too late... but this time I'm sure I ordered early enough to get any and all bonuses).
@Cap'n:

Oh right.

I agree. Plus Luffy's would be great as part of a gif.
Hey, is the guy in the vase Train? I remember that from the first manga volume, but I thought his hair was brown in the game.
Meleoron, AND Hisoka are support characters!? Kuwabara with two spirit swords?!
RAWK ON JSS. RAWK ON.
Here's some translations from Kinyoobi,
Oh the things that Luffy and the rest of them are doing are called "Ultimate Actions"
Each Battle character has one.
Luffy eating meat replenishes his health bar. Don Pachi's Saiyajin transformation replenishes his special gauge.
the stuff on the right side is just restating that help koma's will now have affects on characters. Such as Naruto increases Goku's jumping ability.

No, that's Muhyo.
I'm interested in seeing the other characters ultimate actions. I bet Franky will raise his special guage by filling up with cola ^^

Really? Well that's going to give deck-making more customization.
Finally home and able to look at the pics…the taunts look like fun (particularly Don Patch's anger and Dio...well, reading...would of been funnier if it was a WRYYYYYY thing)...and I guess we get the Luckyman and I''s entries out of the way now too.
BTW: it looks like that the pic thing is a collection of fourty postcards, most likely expanded versions of the pic used on the wheel. (Luffy's Gear stance looks the same as the one on the box)
Is Luckyman playable or another support?
Looks like Luckyman is just support =_=
And it seems Kinnikuman has been changed to a laughter-type character (top pic, the kanji next to his lifebar)
It could be where there's a different nature for different komas.
And damn it, I wanted to play as Luckyman. I really hope that the bulk of new content aren't the support characters that I never use.
@Cap'n:

Possibly. I remember one of Anna's attacks being Laughter even though she was Knowledge.

I argee I hope to see more also. 124 out of 300, yeah lets hope there's more. I love dio's power up thing.
I know everyone's hoping they'll spread out the battle characters, but I really want to play as Chopper.
Then again, I also want to play as Josuke and Giorno Giovanni.
Also, Ultimate Actions look awesome. XD I wonder what Gintoki's UA is…
