It would be so cool if he gets the fox and makes it carry weapons for the crew :D
No. Leave Onimaru alone. He's better off with Kawamatsu.
-
Would be kinda funny if all straw hats turn into pokemon trainers. Nami with zeus, zoro gets fox, sanji prometheus. I just hope they don't need more then 20 years to win a pokemon league.:ninja:
-
No. Nami gets Prometheus. Sanji gets nothing.

What the fuck am I reading?
Please no Pokemon masters

One Piece is a Master Ball which can be used to catch Im(ew).

Well, if Koushiro is a Shimotsuki, that means she is too, so she'd be a descendant of Wano nobility (perhaps of Ryuma too). In many stories, that'd be the kind of character that would show up to liberate the country from evil and carry the legacy of her ancestors or whatever. But she died, so her vagabond friend is gonna have to do it instead. Well, assuming he isn't a Shitmotsuki too, cause he certainly looks a lot like that one daimyo.
Please Oda, give us a second Zoro flashback detailing his relationship with Kuina and fleshing her out a bit more as a character.

I doubt Zoro has any relatives from the Wano noble families as he, if you can remember, came to Koushiro's Dojo by himself. He wasn't raised up by Koushiro or knew Kuina before that. The story potrayals Zoro as an orphaned child that came to challenge Koushiro to a duel and ended up training at the dojo.
Ofc, Oda could spin that background story any way he wants, but for now there is no direct clue to the fact that he has any Wano inheritance :)

Didnt Zoro teach Momo a word that according to Kiku was used in the old language of a region of Wano?

Didn't he say he learned that from some older men at his village?

I dont recall this, I do recall Zoro said he doest use it too oftenly.
-
sunacchi. Doesn't really have connection to nobles tho. Just wano MAYBE kuri in particular but that alone does not suggest zoro having connections, specifically familial connections, to wano nobles.
-

The official release says he's never said it before at all. Also it says "old man", so it wasn't multiple people that taught him that word.

Chapter 955 I think.

The comment I quoted was suggesting that Kuina had this noble ancestors from Wano. Which is way cooler than Zoro being the a descendent, in my opinion.
In this case he learned about the expression "sunnach" at the dojo, from the exiled wano citizens there.

Yes, Kuina could've been a daughter of the nobles and Koushira snatched her away from the whole Wano mess that was going on. It is a bit strange as to how exactly did they manage to set sail but we can just hope Oda remembers this stuff. Therea are too many hints about Zoro have some kind of relation to Wano to just let this opportunity to pass for Oda.
-
I suppose 'Poker' will be the name of one of the Flying Six, since its worldwide popular, variable and well known card game accross the world. it's quite impressive it hasn't come out yet.

Well I think it's more likely it has to do with Koshiro/Kuina myself.
-
I'd like to start a thread for this but I can't yet so I'll present it here a bit. It's important for the story and not talked about enough.
"Will Luffy awaken this arc"? "How"? "Why"? First off; no. I don't think his "awakening" will be him simply turning his surroundings into "rubber". I don't dislike that but that just doesn't really suit him and Oda can do something much more interesting.
I don't know "how" exactly but Oda can have Luffy's "awakening" make him into a much more versatile "rubberman". I don't know if it will happen this arc but I think it must if he really is to defeat Kaido here. If not that then " Gear 5". That could be fun too.
-
Yea the theory that he'll turn his surroundings into rubber has been tossed around so much that oda has probably decided thats not what its gonna be. Honestly any big power up will be fun. Excited for the fights that are gonna happen in this arc.
-
I think we still have to see some new forms of the Gear 4 before the awekening. Maybe a Lion Man, or some other animal
-
I would be disappointed if we don't get to see the "non-stuffed" version of "tankman" but another new form is pointless because it just shouldn't defeat or even match Kaido. He is just on a whole other level to the likes of Doflamingo, Cracker, and Katakuri.
-

Turning his surroundings into rubber wasn't a given anyhow. It makes sense for Doffy and Katakuri as they can generate string and mochi respectively. But Luffy can't do that, so it's not something Oda has to feel beholden to do, it could honestly go either way.
-
Katakuri "is" mochi in addition to generating it so it lends credit to the idea that Luffy's "awakening" will be similar to theirs. I doubt it though because, as I said, it just doesn't suit Luffy and Oda can do something much more fitting.
-
Turning the environment "rubbery" is a given (Bounce World), but I also doubt that Luffy will directly produce a rubber substance Katakuri style.
Instead I expect a functionality similiar to Hina's fruit:
!
Luffy basically passes through opponents and restraints them with rubber cuffs. Mega annoying and arguably broken vs. physical fighters like Kaido, but it's okay since it won't do anything vs. Blackbeard and/or Akainu.
And with Blackbeard and Akainu's name dropped, yes, he will awaken it against Kaido. Only now can it really shine, as one dude hardcounters rubber and the other turns off powers completely.
But even if we don't consider opponents, the time is just right after Doflamingo introduced us to the concept, while Katakuri considered it a given at his level of skill ("of course my power is awakened…"). I would also expect someone on par with Yonkou to have his or her fruit awakened, tbh.
-
No. That just doesn't suit Luffy. It would be like if Luffy suddenly started using a spear or some other weapon like that. As cool as that would be it's just not Luffy.
His "awakening" should simply make him into a much more versatile "rubber man". Someone who could switch between being "liquid rubber", "vulcanized rubber", and everything in between.
-
Properties of rubber and gum?
-
Personally I think Luffy is already capable of damaging Kaido with the new advanced haki he just learnt.
Sort of like when he started use water on CrocoBoy or 2nd Gear with the CP9's.The last blow however, I would expect a combined hit between Luffy/Kidd/Law or just Luffy/Kidd.
-
Who is talking about "damaging"? I'm talking about "defeating".
No. Luffy is the protagonist. He gets the final blow.
-
Em..
I'm just saying so, cause awakening might be delayed for later since we're going to exploit the new haki first.
-
The "new haki" won't really make much of a difference. What allowed Luffy to match Katakuri? The "new haki" or "snakeman"?
-
It was literally told by Hyogoro the whole difference it makes.
Just like water, rubber(with Enel) Gears, future sight, all made differences.
-
Luffy was still getting his ass kicked after "future sight". It wasn't until he used "snakeman" that he could match Katakuri.
-
Luffy could've done it from the beggining but Katakuri kept predicting all his stuff, it was until Luffy copied it that the Advantage of Katakuri was lost.
That's where the difference was made.
Also did Luffy made Kaido drop blood at all? Can't recall exactly but I think Kaido just tanked it.
And pretty sure Luffy will make Kaido bleed the next time.
-
You can think what you want but the fact remains. "Snakeman" is what ultimately let Luffy match Katakuri not "future sight".
No. No blood. I'm sure Luffy can make him bleed now though but so what? Kaido won't just let Luffy hit him now that he can hurt him. That's why he needs something else.
-
It was both that allowed him to win.
-

Kaido doesn't know Luffy can hurt him now.
-
He will soon enough so Luffy better have something else to match him or he will just get beat again.
-
There might be more variations of Gear Fourth we don't know yet.
Also, pure hypotetical but, with Moria still tentatively showing up in the Wano fest, Shadow-Luffy!!!
-
"Tankman non-stuffed" version. I'd like to see that.
"Shadow-Luffy" can work too. I'm not sure Moria is showing up though.
-
Moria is connected both to Kaido and Wano, for his brawl with the yonko and the theft of Ryuma and Shushui.
He has popped up, right into the on going Wano arc, the difference of numbers between the allies and Kaido/Orochi's forces is huge, a few zombies from the graveyards Shutenmaru showed us might be helpful.
And we know for a fact that the main battle is occurring at night, all too convenient.
-
Yeah. I wouldn't really be surprised if he shows up but he seemed to be stuck with Blackbeard so I can't help but doubt it a bit.
-
He's good at escaping, and its been like I don't, I forgot the exact timeline, but it was like a week ago(at least) from the present.
-
What would be Moria's reason to come to Wano in the first place? Only if he gave up on living after he failed to rescue Absalom and goes to challenge Kaidou in an impossible battle to avenge his lost crew somehow. What am I talking about, Oda will come up with a great scenario where everything connects so I'm not worried :D

I agree at the very least that it is definitely not a coincidence that Moria finally pops back up during this arc, just like many thought he would.
Though the real surprise is Perona leaving Mihawk, not sure how that will play out
-
Well, since the Shikibukai status was abolished, maybe Mihawk had to leave the islands and came back to the NW. I really hope to see him soon, he is the coolest guy in OP.

You know, I've seen this idea of Moria resurrecting the zombie's of the fallen samurai to fight Kaido being suggested a lot, but if I look back at the Thriller Bark arc, I can't see this happening. Disturbing the rest of the fallen to turn them into their slaves while acting like they're still the same old person was deemed as a macabre farce and an insult both to the dead and their families. I think making the rotten bodies of fallen warriors get out of their graves by force would actually be seen as a huge outrage in Wano and as a complete disrespect to their honor.

I agree too. My bet is that the best scenario would be if Moria takes the shadows from the Wano people at their own wish and use them to empower Luffy or someone to fight Kaido. Like Goku's Spiritball :)

No. That is Kuzan. :ninja:

Yeah and Moriah wouldn't give a shit.

Now this is something I would like to see.
Sadly I also can't see Moria joining the action in Wano. Even though a few days passed after the last time we saw him (so technically he could had enough time to go from Teach's island to Wano), I think it would just be kinda clunky to have him appear in there in the middle of the arc and then suddenly be in Wano… not exactly an inconsistency in terms of plot/timeline, but awkward still in terms of scene structure (?).
Just like the Linlin/Elbaf connection, I think the Moria/Kaido one will not be one thrown out there to get a proper onscreen closure, but rather just to motivate people (giants and Moria) to aid Luffy out of gratitude for him taking the Emperors down.
