Well, I haven't been enjoying the series since the first Demon King fight so in a way I'm looking forward to it wrapping up the main story. But it seems like this ending is just setting up the sequel.

To be fair, any Arthurian lore geek would have guessed that the cat in Arthur's had would be trouble when he was named Cath.
And most anything can be more interesting than DK, fuck, Demon Hendrickson explored more abilities than the DK. -

Cath is not even strong. It is just Ban without the charisma, charm and character development trying to compensate with better immortality. Most random final villain since Kaguya in Naruto.
Old Demon King in Purgatory is legitimately the last time a villain was simultaneously threatening and interesting. Sad how everything since is just Nakaba pouring more gasoline into a gigantic dumpster fire.

Calling a dumpster fire is a wee bit harsh, but that's your opinion. I do agree that ever since we came out of the purgatory most things that happened were uninspired and poorly executed.

Also Cath would have been a much more interesting villain if they had actually bothered to make him more than a "I hate everything" character. Also if he hadn't been thrown in as the final boss five seconds before the ending.

Welp, it looks like my theory that Escanor will be reborn as Gawain is only a few chapters away of turning true.

I think were just two chapters away from the end, my guess don't have no real source yet. One would imagine that he will set up the happy endings next chapter or two and finish with an last volume epilogue with adult Arthur an his knights being the sons and daughters of the sins plus Merlin.
And like I said no goddess arc. -

It feels like either that got scrapped and so whatshisname wants to do it in the final arc of 7DS, or he realized there wasn't enough interest in the character and is trying to generate some hype (lol).Either way, this manga is long overdue.

I do not know it is already set in stone, but last chapter had a note saying that the Arthur spin off is indeed Nakaba's next project. So if anything Cath was a prologue villain.

Probably cause the design of Cath was cooler to me.
