Kimetsu no Yaiba

! Murata has more backstory than the snake pillar at this point.
! And Nezuko is back in the game. Seem the cure hasn't really worked yet.
Truth to be told, Nezuko's uniqueness among demons always bugs me. She's the only demons that doesn't need to eat human, managed to develop blood demon arts that can hurt demons, the only one who can walk under the sun etc. She has repeatedly mentioned by characters to be a special demon but there never been a solid explanation of why she is so special. I hope there is an explanation soon other than being one of the main characters.
At least with Genya, there was the 'special digestive organ' that grant him the unique ability to become a demon temporary.
! I'm more interested in next week chapter with Tanjirou's relieving his ancestor's memory. Hopefully, the debate of whether or not Dance of the fire god=Breath of the Sun get settled.
No doubt, there is a close connection between these two techniques with Sunbro's connection. -
Flashbacks have no smell folks

Well…This chapter felt kinda rambly. I know it was sequential but it still read awkwardly to me.
-
I guess I'm not the only one who thinks the pacing in this chapter is awkward.
I think it is mixture of info dumping and the flashback within a flashback that makes the pacing feel off. Also, the artwork is a bit off.
Tamayo is the most intriguing aspect of this chapter. She clearly met Sunbro but when she first met Tanjirou, she never commented anything on his earring.
There is a high possibility she defected from Muzan around this time.
Also, the manga and anime have difference when it comes to Muzan remembering about Sunbro.
In the manga, the location was never specified and Sunbro pants matched with what we see in this chapter.
But in the anime, it was near buildings and Sunbro pants was the other kind he wore. -
I didn't have any particular issue with the pacing. It seems quite the usual to me.
Also it seems quite an interesting flashback in term of revelations -
Wait that's tamayo?
And yeah not exactly the best way to do a flashback but feels like it's the only way to get Tanjirou involved and pass the knowldge -
Yeah good move, expel the guy that almost killed Muzan

https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/viewer/1006025Not only that, Sun-bro was also the one that taught them how to use breaths, what a bunch of ungrateful idiots.

Dude, hearts are bad enough, but five BRAINS?! What the hell do you do with five brains!?

I suppose that is what helps him survive beheading. I don't want to know how he obtained them though…
I guess the little girl also reminded him the life he had missed when his wife was murdered. -
…Is it a controversial opinion to say that I find Yoriichi a boring character?

…Is it a controversial opinion to say that I find Yoriichi a boring character?
He…is a good person, but to say he is not boring is another story. I wouldn't call it controversial, he is overpowered since birth with so far no apparent motive.
-
…Is it a controversial opinion to say that I find Yoriichi a boring character?
I'd agree. Outside of Sesshoumaru I don't enjoy the overly stoic characters. I thought it was interesting that he was deaf but that didn't apparently hinder him much outside of not interacting much with others. He just kinda quietly accepts stuff.

Trick the school nurse into thinking you're a healthy human boy?

Thank for the record now I'm off to bleach my brain. How the hell did it pass the FCC?!

Just seems like he was some super autist.

What people will do for money is really awful sometimes:
https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/viewer/1006026 -
Damn. That was worse than I expected it could be.
-
I’m not a huge fan of how this is the only time that we actually get to know anything about the characters and it is piled into dozens of flashbacks and padded with rushed and underwhelming fights.
-
Obanai didn't you get the memo is too late for character progress. Bet he will be the first to get a red sword.
-
The mist pillar got the red sword first though. (Not counting Tanjirou who got it through Nezuko's blood demon art)
To be honest, I did kinda like the whole demon worshipper cult aspect. (Technically, Douma counts but he poses as a 'human' most of the time where else demon snake was obviously a demon)
Also snake boy first meeting with love pillar is one of the cover page during the swordsmith village arc which was kinda neat.
But I don't give a shit about snake boy & whether he lives or die. lol
And it's super jarring to jump from Sunbro & Tanjirou's ancestor flashback (which is more interesting and hold answers to the biggest mystery in the series) to this. -
I'm talking about the ones currently fighting Muzan, and we gotta wait for Nezuko for Tanjiro to wake up/ revisit the flashback realm.

! Called it, noice.

It's definitely one of my biggest gripes with this series.
-
Respect for the cat. Also I called that red sword, noice

Noooo, kitty-kat!

https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/viewer/1006183 You got a red sword, you got a red sword, every pillar gets a red sword.

There are my guys!
-
I'm happy the gang is here, but I'm starting to get bored of this fight.

Agreed. Never was a fan of "Namek will blow up in 5 minutes" situations.
-
An hour and some change is a long ass time to be fighting continously. I'd almost prefer 20 chapters of 5 minutes.
-
I don't remember those invisibility talisman things at all. When was that a thing?
-
I can’t follow this fight scene at all
-

Tamayo’s house fight. It was the talismans that kept her house “invisible” to others.

I can’t follow this fight scene at all
What to expect, Muzan went full octopus. Never go full octopus.

Yeah the house fight and again when they were all trapped in the shifting Muzan maze not too long ago.

You do wonder how they're supposed to keep that up for a whole fucking hour. Even two regular warriors with regular swords can't keep that up an hour. Unless you have healing powers yourself, that's not gonna happen. Unless they plan somehow to give them healing powers?
-
Just caught up with the series.
Need another 20 chapters before i read it again.
-
The end is nigh upon us.
-
Seems like the author also wanted a change of pace in Muzan fight but that was still quite a hard blow
-
So now he not only has multiple hearts and brains but can move them around in his body?! Muzan is just too damn powerful:
https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/viewer/1006184Which makes it even more deus ex when your hero (hopefully) beats him later.
-
Nezuko showing up will probably turn the tide fully. But I don't get how anyone is gonna survive. They have no breath of healers. The poison is slowed but they are all cut up…Tomioka's arm is severed...Just man this is brutal. I still won't accept this as final arc until Shonen gives us an announcement.
-
Next arc will be Funeral Arc. Or the Nightmare of Readjustment Arc.
I still wish Nezuko will play no part in this, I believe the antidote is only taken longer to work instead of straight up fail like with Muzan.
-
But what is the point of Nezuko if she doesn't hel ? We saw her searching for her brother a few chapters back
-
If she helps it means the antidote indeed failed, and she would did alongside Muzan and Yushiro. 200 chapters to heal her and she dies.
If Muzan absorbs her he becomes Kars and it’s all game over.
If she is a demon and lives it kind of break the internal consistency of the series.
She can be a trigger to Tanjiro discover the 13th form, but I wouldn’t like for her to die.
-
Why would the antidote failing lead to her death? I don't recall her being in mortal danger before this arc. Plus she can survive the sun.
-
She broke free from Muzan's control, and she conquered the sun, but isn't she still tied to the demon genocide once Muzan is killed. Or will she become the only living demon after that?

Unofficial translation.
! Honestly, Muzan fight is super boring. You will expect the final fight to be more entertaining. It is just him swinging around his tentacle while everyone tries to get a hit on him but he regenerate too quickly. UM1 & UM 6 kinda have the same thing going but visually it look more entertaining.
I also love how Muzan, the progenitor of demon is not using any demon art at all. Even though he was using it before Tamayo caught him in a trap. Granted he is already op so he doesn't need to use it. But I think visually it will look more interesting.
The previous chapter was probably the worst chapter for me in this arc. The pillars was able to unlock all the essential techniques-mark, see-through world & red sword. They got a plan to target his vital organs. Next minute, they (& Zenitsu & Inosukd) got off-screened. Snake boy didn't even get to do anything. Lol.
Of course, the only one left is Kanai just so that the MC can swoop in and save her & make his grand entrance. Lol
! As for the current chapter, I did like it much better. It makes a lot of sense that the 13 th form is the hinokami kagura that generations of the family been performing. Just repeat the 12 th form continuously till dawn. It was something kinda obvious in hindsight. And the whole Yorichi giving his earring to them & the passing on of the breath of the sun is what many have already predicted long ago.
Personally, I don' think that was the last time Sumiyoshi saw him.
! The only lore we need to learn about is the blue spider lily & what's the deal with Nezuko being the super special demon who can walk under the sun. I think they are connected somehow.
There is also the whole deal with the mark & how it spreads. -
Damn the 13th form was created by Phil Lynott
