Buster Scruggs was 1/6 of a good movie.
91st Academy Awards, 2019

Hmm, The Irishman. Honestly, I kinda want to see that just because it would be great to see Joe Pesci in a movie again.
After making Master of Disguise, I'm amazed the academy even allowed Dana Carvey on stage.
-
@Kaido:
Eyyyyy Spider-Verse won! Damn right!
That's a huge relief.
-
Okay, so the weird Pixar cannibalism short won.
-
No surprise there. Bao was pretty good though Animal Behavior was a lot more fun to watch.
-
Spider-Verse should've been nominated for best film. Especially when a lot of the actually nominated films are pretty bad!
-
Oh, look, it's an ad for one of several "live action" Disney remakes I have zero interest in seeing.
-
First Man? Hmm, okay then.
-
First Man had some really solid visual effects so that's well deserved.
-
Woo! Spike Lee finally gets his due!
-
I guess BlacKkKlansman needed to win best adapted screenplay to balance out the awful victory of best original screenplay by Green Book.
-
Brie Larson and SLJ were stoned as hell and need to host the next Oscars. (also while stoned)
-
Missed opportunity to play the Hitler ranting clip for Bruno Ganz.
-
Bohemian Rapture
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
John Lewis introducing Green Book is basically confirmation that it wins best picture.
-
Yeah, it's hard to see how it doesn't win after they brought out a legit American hero to introduce it.
-
Eh, I think Spike Lee deserved the Best Director win. Guess he'll have to settle for screenplay.
-
When Mexico sends its people, it exclusively sends filmmakers who win the Oscar for best director.
-
Olivia Colman is a treasure and I love her.
-
Anyway, Cuaron should've directed all the Harry Potter movies and all those ninnies who complain that he didn't ReSPeCt tHe SOuRce MaTerIaL can sit down.
-
If not for Lewis doing the introduction for Green Book, I'd call Roma the favorite now that Cuaron won Best Director.
YEP.
-
God damn it.
-
And Green Book wins. Whatever. This year sucked.
-
They had to Crash it.
-
This is literally worse than when Crash won.
-
Apparantly, Spike Lee tried to walk out but was told to return to his seat.
-
Green Book apparently sucked (although not all say that), but can we be happy for Mahershala Ali getting an Oscar when he's such a good actor?
Asking Black Panther to win was asking too much, I guess, but at least it got very well-earned awards for Score, Production, and Costume Design.
-
I guess Rami is happy now that Mr Robot got cancelled, considering he will get a lot of role offers. Can´t say much about whether he deserved it, have neither seen Rhapsody, nor can i judge his performance since i have almost zero exposure to Mercury.
I do know though that Dafoe has shown one of his best performances of his career this year, a pity.Yes, Green Book sucked, i have only seen half of the best picture nominees and all three movies besides GB were immensely better. Mahershala is a good actor, but he already had that award 2 years ago, Richard Grant deserved it this year.
Best actress got the deserved winner, Colman was superb in Favorite.
Supporting actress, all deserved it, one has to win, it´s ok.At least Spiderman won.
-
The main problem with Rami is that EVERYBODY wanted Sasha Baron Cohen to play Freddie Mercury, but he had a falling out with the filmmakers and dropped out. So poor Rami is his replacement.
-
Spiderverse won best animated movie. That's the only thing worth giving a damn about.
-
Did Jussie Smollett win best actor?
-

Seems like many were content with Rami and his performance though
-
Bradley Cooper continues his cold streak of oscar losses.
-
Seems like many were content with Rami and his performance though
Apparently. So he avoided getting ripped to shreds, which you could say in itself is a testament to his acting.
