Oh, they randomly died of old age. The End. That was nice and short.
Fairy Tail Series IV Discussion

YouTubers 4 life.
-
I alreadu find this guy more likable than natsu. Idk if that was Hiro making him blander over time or that every other guy character among the main and secondary cast was more interesting to me, except for elfman.
-
20,000 year time skip? Are you serious? Lol.
-
Haven't read it, but don't tell me those 20,000 years are basically like the 7 years time skip of FT where nothing significant changed.

I'm sure it's just a flashforward.

4 chapters in and Mashima has already spoiled the end.
Holy shit, this is going to be a beautiful mess.

Beautiful trainwreck of an adventure > Dull Endless fighting for no reason

well it's not like i expected the female lead to still be alive after 20.000 tears anyway, so it's not too much of a spoiler
-
Reminded me of this early xkcd.
-
Say what you will about the recycled stuff, but at least it has got a far more interesting premise than FT. How Mashima will handle it is an entirely different matter.
-
Holy shit, how much can you recycle your own designs so obvious without calling it a sequel?
I see no potential here just a generic shonen ala Black clover and Bleach.
But we all know that Mashima fanboys find a way to defend his parody of shonen mangos to the last man ( and nakama). -
It's still chapter 4 and Shiki already saw Rebecca naked :wassat:
All things considered, it does at the very least make me curious how Mashima's solve this ridiculous cliffhanger. -
Hey at least the word friend wasn't used a single time in this chapter.
-

I do have to admit that "finding giant space woman for internet views" is an unique premise.
But the execution will probably be godawful going by Mashima's record, hopefully in a glorious way. I want ridiculous stuff on the level of orgasm magic and immortal loli in stasis giving birth.
-
I loved orgasm magic.

Don't forget the BDSM magic

I can't believe I wanted to catch up on this.
that spread of the underground city was amazing.
…
Now for the cons:
-this is goddamn Fairy Tail in space. We have guilds, we have "adventurers", we have the story telling us that they're a family before the characters can communicate such through their actions, and we have magic. But ok, I'm sure we've all snickered at this.-why have this Youtube-esque identity for some characters clash with the ideas of being a guild in space? Seems the former could be a little more interesting if it was invoking idol culture in a meta sense, instead we have another character being bitchy to notLucy simply because she has more views(???). Shonen is more about action and adventure, but it seemed like B-tube could've been used a little more....?
-I....what? Why....huh? Why did Mashima flashforward thousands of years in chapter 4? The love block implies the mcs get together, which could've been guessed, but it also the discoverers being averse to a heart representing the notion of love, AND they still revere the space Mother?
Just….I can't understand this. Some authors save t his for an epilogue. Some do it after a major plot revelation. Mashima did it unprompted in CHAPTER FOUR, before the scientist was developed and the world had a chance to breathe.
Jesus christ, this is confusing.

The hope is the worldbuilding includes not only wild space set ups but wild time set ups too in a way that opens some room to have a complex plot with paralallel words and stuff… But it's only a tiny tiny hope, given Mahisma's not good with worldbuilding and likes shallow cliches

I enjoy time-related plots, but under Mashima…...
-
I liked Zeref and The first guild master romance. Also the reveal of their son. And there was also Ultear's sacrifice and becoming an old lady.
As for the flashfoward i would have preferred a museum( like the flash museum) with some shadowed accomplishment so we we get hyped for the future of those characters.
-
If only mavis wasn't a Loli, I think that aspect wouldn't be bad.

I liked how shiki stated "so you guys are one big family" and rebecca basically stated they were just a club for the convenience of it and didnt really get along too well. Its both a subversion of typical fairy tail and gives chances for the main characters to actually develop friendships.
Well technically lucy did that in FT with some people but I think natsu really stole focus from that. The early flashbacks were cute and all but I think this COULD work better if Mashima wants a theme to be friendship.

2 things though:
The guild seemed like it was mostly throwed in as a joke.
Other than the receptionist, everyone in it were assholes and there was that silly line about "other manga";Rebecca and Happy already have the "love blocks". They use it has alarms or something.
Ah fuck it. I'm in for the ride.
At least it seems he's a bit self conscious about some of his cliches and he's trying to have some fun with it. Besides, the premise is crazy enough that it might be entertaining to keep up with.
I feel like it will end in huge disappointment, but hey, I want to know what the fuck is Eden's Zero. Your title drop worked, Mashima. Screw you. -
Shit! There is actually a sequel side-story for FT about the 100 Year Quest from the last chapter.

! did first page guy turned into a dragon?
Wasn't in only supposedly to happen by killing dragons? Remembers Erza is half dragon, ah never mind. -
They got through a chapter without anyone's clothes exploding…. that is fairly impressive.

Mashima is only doing the story, another dude is writing. You cam see by how weird Gray looks. Which by itself is weird considering Mashima is a drawing machine.

Well I suppose I am happy to hear that then. Truth be told, I am not a huge fan of fan service.

We're not in the safe, he is being credited as providing the history and the name, the new guy just makes the drawings.

Just fucking watch Natsu and co (poor fucking Juvia being left behind) complete the job instantly because of friendship or some bullshit.
-
Oh no. Oh nooooooo! Natsu is officially a harem protagonist now!

-
So… chapter 2 has us back to several Lucy cleavage shots... Man I feel sorry for her sometimes... and ...
! Surpise there are now 5 more dragons each potentially as strong as Acgnologia.
-
So what happend to Eden‘s Zero? 20k years later they are dead. End of story?

Time travel shenanigans. Meta narrator, and "plot doesn't matters".
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Oh my Oh my a second Juvia? Did you really thought a second one would mean double the fun?
I thing that the Gajeel plot will be more interesting than the main one. -
They did good job emulating Mashima's style while making it better in some ways, although maybe not as clean in certain parts. Better angles, better wide panels, more expressively drawn characters.. I'm liking these changes, as minor as they may be. Now onto the plot…
Nvm, I still don't get why 100YQ is not a joint operation.

! There are 5 Acnologias? Yare Yare Daze.

I still don't understand the dragon slayer aspect when the majority of the slayers were raised by dragons that they liked.
-

A dragon has to train you in the ways to train a dragon. They are the ones able to teach you this specific type of magic.
-
That only makes the "self-taught" claim from that old man sound even more preposterous, assuming that he had no direct contact with the dragons in any way and only imitated what other dragon-slayers did. Unfortunately, there's never any explanation of what kind of training the first slayers had to to undergo and yet readers are expected to accept and believe that everyone in FTverse can catch one, like it's a dragon flu or something.
That being said, I wonder if there are characters in FTverse who accidentally became a god from learning god-slaying technique? I find the possibility actually hilarious.

Didn't Grimoire Heart have a God Slayer, who learned that magic from his guild leader? Pretty sure there was one, but I can't confirm that myself right now.
-
@Your:
Didn't Grimoire Heart have a God Slayer, who learned that magic from his guild leader? Pretty sure there was one, but I can't confirm that myself right now.
Was it Zancrow? I think that's correct. It's just that, I don't know any who ascended into godhood as side effect of learning it. The way I see it, god-slaying techniques can be passed down to others or written down on books for others to learn (though result may vary) making it somewhat superior to dragon-slayers when it comes to propagation with no looming threat from those willing to use it for virtue.
I might have given god-slayer users too much credit, again, considering their pitiful track records in a fight with good guys. Mashima surely created the concept as mere inferior rival fodders to dragon-slayers because adding more of the latter would reduce their uniqueness.
-
There was no point in introducing the god slayers except for the sake of it. Pretty sure Mashima didn't really think any of that slayer shtick through but still went along with god slayers because he deemed them edgy enough to be some sort of lost magic.
Also, all this talk about Zancrow made me remember the fight against Azuma, which still bothers me even today. I really liked the guy and enjoyed seeing the Fairies take a good beating. But Jesus, the end of that fight. I don't even know what to say about that. The only word that comes to my mind is just laziness.
-
Hmmm.. Not sure I like the twist.
-
So we met the narrator and there's time travel. What a strange story pace.
-
Classic bait-and-switch cliffhanger from Mashima. I'm not sure what the narrator is trying to say here. Does it mean that the characters are freed from any consequence that their space-time travel(s) may cause?
-
I think it means you can accidentally end up in the future or past in this story. Maybe the narrator is someone they will befriend by accidently going 500 years in the future in a diferent planet for exemple.
