was this necessary?
Since that one considered a new series, I think it would be good idea to divide this from the original Tokyo Ghoul.

The imperial scan version but on Batoto.
I…...don't understand what's going on. What happened to everybody?!? Dammit I want the next chapter.
-
So is Sasaki, our new protagonist? And there's so many red herrings in this chapter it's ridiculous, like the girl with the eye patch and sasaki's hair is somewhat suspicious
-
It's all reintroduction, set-up and possible red herrings. Sasaki and Urie both look like Kaneki. Is Amon really dead? Is Kaneki either of those two? Is the author just reusing the design or is there some purpose behind it? Argh.
-
This has nothing to do with the chapter but the manager's daughter saved him and he's still alive right?

We saw him in a chamber with Eto and the Doctor in the room. My guess they will be using him for experiments. Think he was alive though, yes, though don't quote me on that. Have to go back and re-check.
As for the chapter, it was great. I love Sasaki's character and there seem to some similarities to Kaneki. I'm willing to say it might actually be him. Some interesting things were introduced, love to have Akira back as well, but bloody hell I've got so many questions that need answers!
-
It's AoT all over again. All those questions. Hopefully we'll get answers.
Also, seems like season 2 might be diverting from the manga, but with the author's writing the new version of it?
Too bad, I wanted to see the manga version animated, but I guess it's just gonna be another version of the story. I guess we'll see how it pans out.
-
Theory-They all have Kaneki's Kagune.

Theory-They all have Kaneki's Kagune.
Well, Urie didn´t.
I didn´t get one thing.
Urie is "quinckes squad leader" and Sasaki is what then?–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Also
Hinami and Ayato? Wth...
-
-
Ayato face turns makes as much as as when Sasuke made a face turn. Sasaki has been more entertaning than Kaneki, who is Erza tier.
-
-
I didn´t get one thing.
Urie is "quinckes squad leader" and Sasaki is what then?Sasaki is the "mentor".
Is it me or does Sasaki seem like Kaneki+Hide? Is this a result of him eating his ol' buddy Hideyoshi?
-
Which characters have appeared from the first manga? I can only see Mado's daughter thus far.
-
Hinami and Ayato is also there. And Arima is mentioned.
-
How long has it been since the last arc ended?
-
Hinami and Ayato is also there. And Arima is mentioned.
Who were they again?
Nevermind, TG wiki FTW.
The girl that stayed with Ken and his love interest's brother. One line is all it takes for these me to remember these characters, right now they're just all without any context. Just random names.
-
We better see Ken next chapter.
-
I think it's a given at this point that Saseki is him. Just look at his RC cells as well as the doctors remark about him not being able to eat human food (at least I think that's what it meant). I just want to know whether he has his memories and what went down with Arima..
-
Argh. Is he Kaneki or not? I'd prefer if Kaneki were dead, but at the same time there's some hints it might be him.
-
I really hope Ken is just yet to be introduced.
-
What if Sasaki is not Kaneki but is the natural progression of his character, think about it in the same way that Kaneki considered the Binge Eater and Jason to be part of him after he "consumed" them, Sasaki was implanted with Kaneki's kagune and now Kaneki is part of him in a similar way
-
Ouch. That's gonna be painful for Touka/everyone Kaneki knows that still care about him.
-
I want Kaneki to be dead. He himself said he was part of a 'tragedy', and Tokyo Ghoul was about him… 'degeneratin'g(I'm not sure how you sum up Kaneki's tragedy in one word) and the series ended when he died.
I guess I'm worried Tokyo Ghoul:re is only for the cash and pleasing fans. Like it's as if Ishida Sui wanted to leave it with Kaneki dying, or a 'bad ending' along these lines but his editors/fans wanted him to write a 'comedy' with a happier ending instead. So the compromise was to have a sequel where he would fit in a happier stories, which would be slightly disappointing or 'off' as this is the same series that inked in the blank spaces between panels(odd reasoning I know, but the point is that it doesn't fit). I can't seem to understand when there's a new series, the first thing people demand is to have Kaneki back in the pink of health after his eyes were plucked out.
But it's too early to make conclusions. I still can't wait to see the next chapter.
-
It's literally a tragedy. It even has 5 arcs (tragedies usually have 5 acts), with the third one usually being the turning point. Think about it: The Hinami arc, Gourmet arc, Aogiri arc (which is the turning point), then the Rize mystery and finally the attack to Anteiku. Which is why I wouldn't like Kaneki being alive. It's contradictory to the themes and yes, it could turn out to be just pure fanservice to get the characters a happy ending for just kicks, but I'm perfectly fine if Sasaki is a new character and even the fact that Kaneki might be part of him like Jason or Rize. I'd actually call Kaneki's arc a simple fall. The transformation from a human to a monster - which was foreshadowed as early as the refrence to Kafka's Metamorphosis. The author clearly loves their literature.
-
I'm fine with Kaneki being dead. I just want more of the unanswered questions from the first series to be answered. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Kaneki is being used like Rize was.
-
Tokyo Ghoul Chapter 2 Main Page & Tokyo ghoul:RE Chapter 2 Main page
Is this a fuking coincidence ? Or the Author is trolling us ?
-
The author is obviously just leaving crumbs here and there. I have to give Ishida Sui some credit, he's got the readers asking a lot of questions. When I read the last chapter of Tokyo Ghoul, it felt unfinished and had more future plot development.

Same here because Kaneki has the worst fanbase in Manga/anime, at the level of FT.
-
Oh who would have guessed? Spoiler ofc http://i.4cdn.org/a/1414235487677.jpg
-
This is not surprising at all.
-
-
Meh it was gonna happen, Ishida just doesnt want the fangirls to threat him to death..
Left:anime
Right: BD/DVD
-
Wow, so basically its still awfully censored.
-
That's so strange.
Why would you animate the gore and violence at all, then? Tone it down a little, but still keep the gist. AoT could do it gracefully enough when it had to, even the One Piece anime could do it, this is just jarring. Imagine when they'd whitebeard getting half his face blown off, but had it censored regardless.

Chapter 3 is out:

Lol at Sasaki wearing Arima-like glasses, xD
-
No, read it here instead!

No, read it here instead!
I was going to get this link too, but it wouldn't connect. Lol
-
Lol, but Mangahere is actually mangastream in disguise, right?
Anyway, now it seems that Haise is a regular dude who has Kaneki's kagune implanted in him?
My guess is that the QS squad uses a transplanted kagune, but are still mostly human, similar to how the Kakuja quinques(Arata) use the life blood of the user.–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I have links from the manga as evidence, but it's tough to find them all. Hold on...
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
Okay, so we now know that the QS squad are people who've been experimented on and now have built in quinques. They don't look like Kagune to me, but are more like quinques imitating kagune. This is possibly is powered similarly to Arata, the full body armor which is a Kakuja qunque. Kakuja quinque armor is fueled by the human user's blood, which supplies RC cells. These pages provide hints about this.
So as implanted Quinques, their "kagune" is possibly more fluid then normal quinques, but still probably more solid than real kagune. See here for explanation:
http://bato.to/read/_/261647/tokyo-ghoul_v9_ch82_by_twisted-hel-scans/5Also, on a side note, look at this page of Kaneki(?) which I believe is living on as a quinque/Kakuhou and haunts Haise the way Rize did.
!
http://imperialscans.com/read/tokyo-ghoul-re/3-bell/20
The background on the top left panel resembles the background used in the page below. It's the panel with the Rinkaku, which, interestingly, Kaneki has…!
So this means that Kaneki died and is "living on" inside of Haise in the form of a Rinkaku organ, or Haise is Kaneki and he's haunted by his past memories as the ghoul Kaneki.Wait if Arata has a will of its own, and Rize could talk to Kaneki, and Kaneki could talk to Haise, does this mean that Kakuhou organs have the spirit of Ghouls in them? Weird.
-
Yeah, looks like he has Kaneki's Kagune, so Kaneki technically is dead and at the same time isn't dead. Not sure how to consider it because Rize and Yamori were a part of him, but he still technically had his own personality. Really curious where it could go like this.
-
The link in "
So as implanted Quinques, their …"
Is the same has in "These pages provide hints about this." (the This)Ah, thanks for catching that, it's fixed now. Still a repeat, but it's the right page to provide what I meant.
Also, those last two pages are a very good catch.
Thanks!
The imperial scans link seems to be a bit buggy though. -
!
Oh boy
-
What's in that spoiler? It doesn't work for me.

What's in that spoiler? It doesn't work for me.
Mitsu-something is lying on the ground with shirt open and bra exposed. Of course someone is forcing Mitsu into a form of submission

Chapter's been out for a while…
-
So Urie doesn't seem to know just how strong Saseki is, whilst also not knowing much about fighting with Quinckes.
And Mutsuki appears to be a girl after all, wonder why she was pretending to be a guy?
