it looks really good but the world doesn't fit OP and I wish you can play other characters :(
One Piece World Seeker (PS4, Open World(?), 2018)

We've literally only have seen the Green Hill Zone of the world thus far. :P

@S.C.:

lol it actually looks like green hill zone
-
I know we've only seen a small part of the game, but as it stands it looks like shit to me. So far we've seen Luffy knock out a few Marines on a barren map. It just looks so… Not one piece. After the absolute train wreck that was Burning blood, i hope this doesn't disappoint.
-
Is it said if we can somehow play an alternative crewmate? or is it all about Luffy alone?
-

Luffy is the sole playable character. The other crewmates are NPC.
-

Thanks, i guess i will be ok with that, i would love to get at least dlc's with side crew like Zoro, Sanji or to play them at a certain chapter etc…
-
The idea is with Luffy being the only character, they can adapt adventuring to his abilities to give the player more freedom. Like his UFO to glide around, Jet Pistol used like an actual pistol, etc.
-
I'm afraid the game become just a place without a purpose, like a map we can actually visit but without something important, i mean one piece is not only about one hero, this is why i asked if we get to play other chara.
-
What are you even talking about? We know practically nothing about what the story is, what Luffy's role in the story is, what the rest of the crew's roles are going to be, or what secrets the island hides.
Your comment comes across like you've already seen the whole game.
-
If by important you mean important to the larger story of One Piece, I don't even see why that's a concern.

New Weekly Shonen Jump scan.

New Screenshots-

Thanks for the scan and screenshots, guys.
It seems like going from stretching around ledges to Gear 3rd techniques is going to be seamless.
One thing that I would like to see in this game that I haven't seen discussed already is a real-time day and night cycle.
-
The camera seems further away in those screens. It'll be nice to see gameplay that isn't altered for direction of a trailer. Think anything will come out of Bandai Namco's January presser?
-
I just hope this game won't be like FFXV where you will have to buy tons of dlc's to get a real experience of the game >__<

http://www.siliconera.com/2018/01/17/smoker-appears-enemy-character-one-piece-world-seeker/
Smoker going to be in the game.
-
I would guess Smoker would be similar to the Majima Everywhere system in Yakuza Kiwami in which he randomly pops up for a fight.
-
Greg is in the game too? XD
-
Greg will be the super boss /s
-
I am loving the look of that marketplace in the top screen. If that is a sample of things to come as far as more environments are concerned, it seems promising.
I know it is just art and not an actual screenshot from the game, btw.
-
Oh nice is that Smoker at the bottom too?
-
Yup. That is indeed Smoker.
-
Safe to assume Tashigi is in?

Nami and Chopper confirmed to be in the game.

At last. Some early gameplay.

Another video

This game is wonderful big step to an open world One Piece game!
-
Well let's hope this is still in very early development bc so far it looks pretty bad. Luffy's movement is fine, but the way he traverses the map by stretching is by far the most impressive thing I've seen from this game so far. Was really hoping to see more of it in action. Too bad the lady stayed on the ground and ran everywhere for most of the video. The haki mode seems neat but unnecessary. The man is worth 500 mil, he doesn't need to be wary of these basic goombas. If it were Nami or Usopp that mode would make sense. But it's Luffy. He wouldn't care if there were thousands in one area all with the strength of Rob Lucci, he still wouldn't even think of stealth. I'm probably never gonna love the environment or graphics of this game either. The effects on Red Hawk look pretty good tho. Combat looks clunky, getting a lot of World Red vibes from it which is a bad sign.
In fact that's exactly what this all feels like so far, just World Red again but in a different engine, faster running speed, and way less characters npc or otherwise. Overall it doesn't look like an awful game, just not the game we want or what they were hyping it to be. I'd love to eat my words tho, praying for it actually. Hopefully this turns around for the better. This demo might have benefitted from someone who was already familiar with the controls and whose job it was to showcase all the fun things you can do. No offense to the lady but her gameplay didn't sell the game very well at all. I was fairly optimistic before I saw this video.
-
I know the release date is 2018 but any idea on Quarter? Can we expect Q2 or Q3?
-
One Piece games seem to release between June and September, so I'd guess around then.
-
I really wish they played like that to not show combos and the combo system is not like unlimited world red
And the AI seems stupid which I think they are going to fix
Other than that I like how the game is -

I don't understand this mindset. The stealth stuff is only an option that the player decides if they want to do or not. It's a video game. If the player is given more than one option, they can play it anyway they choose.
Luffy being worth 500 million berries has no merit in a game with health bars and different classes of enemies. It's very possible to get overwhelmed if there are multiple enemies, especially if the player has just picked up the game like the woman in the video. -

Lol at the critique about CoO system xD Youre not Luffy. Youre a person controlling Luffy. And how you use his abilities is up to the player. They did a good job of using an Eagle Eye type thing to use CoO. Its an ability the character can do and limiting it to certain scenarios woupd be a terrible design idea.
And same with stealth. Why shpupdnt you be able to be stealthy? Its a game that allows you to play a certain character. However way ypu want to within the games mechanics.

Uh…I can't express a concern I have about the gameplay? I'd be thrilled if they showcased an in depth stealth section or demonstrated how these enemies are actually very dangerous if faced recklessly. But based on the video beating the goons was a breeze. There was even variety: some dudes with sabers, some with pistols, and some heavies with gatling guns. All got wrecked pretty handily no stealth required by someone who clearly wasn't familiar with the controls. If they can release a demo in the future showing the importance and more importantly the fun of observation/stealth gameplay then great, I can then get hyped for this new function of the game. Otherwise it kinda feels arbitrary as hell. Just some tacked on feature simply because it's technically something Luffy IS capable of but overall unnecessary. And if stealthing is as clunky as the open combat looks so far then very little in this game seems like it's gonna be much fun at all.
THis is just my initial thoughts. Basic impressions based off this short gameplay. I'm allowed to think it looks unpolished because it sure fucking does to me. Would LOVE to be wrong tho, can't emphasize that enough. If you like it, that is totally cool. Despite my criticisms there still ARE things to like about this game. Ok? Not that my opinion should really matter much to anyone anyway. I'm glad you're all satisfied with what you see so far, I'm just not. Crossing fingers for a good stealth demo soon…

Thats not what I said. Its your reasoning. The reasoning doesnt fit when it comes to the game design. The game is an open world/rpg. It makes no sense to create an open environment for you to explore when you cant even play the way you want to.
-
They need to show off more environments. Like this:
It is also hard to judge a game on someone else playing. I hope they had World Seeker at the Bandai event in San Francisco for press last week. As for development, if I read in a French interview correctly, it has been in the works for 3 years.
-
Wow, that looks like a modern city. I hope it's like Spider-Man level of exploring potential.
-
Hey there is Nami and Chopper. Gameplay does not look fun. But we will see how all that turns out. Maybe it will be an ok game. Dont think that it will be as entertaining as PW3. PW4 would be better in my opinion
-
Dammmmn~ its a modern city! That is such a big changed from the open farm field we have seen! *o*/

I think Usopp is also there. (Blurry, but see his yellow pants, black hair, and orange bag)

1. is the US going to get this game?
2. this game looks like a cross of Unlimited adventure/cruise and Dynasty warriors

1. Yes
2. What part of the game looks like Dynasty Warriors? I see no hordes, no armies, no bases to capture. -
