Considering that All Might is the acting father, and before that his mother seemed to be doing the job on her own pretty well, I'd keep him in mind, but he doesn't seem to be a big player.

I like the fact Deku's mom is the only known character to have telekinesis, a power that is often displayed as ridiculously overpowered. Makes you wonder how strong Midoriya could be if he had inherited his mother's quirk.

Or even his dad's fire breathing.
I do love this series and it's ability to have a wide range of super powers. Or non super. It makes me think of Meh from Family Guy were she could grow her nails a little lol.
-
Yeah All Might fixing it before graduation would be nice.
Do you guys think we'll ever see Deku's dad? Or is he one of those characters in place to let us know a character doesn't have a single parent, but that they're completely unimportant?
I think we will when he becomes part of plot. It's too ambiguous, we don't know what he's doing or where.
Gonna assume we're not getting the evil dad cliche. Maybe something to do with heroics like building sentinels or some super hero robot that turns evil (Ultron). We haven't touched much on AI in this world. We've seen it used for comedy (sassy robots) but nowhere else. I think robots/androids will play a bigger role at some point.

Oh man. AI stuff could be interesting. Also an event later on causing society to revert back to zero.
Weren't the police ramping up for something too? I seemed to recall a kind of ominous meeting happening. -
Yeah. Some fans think the police will bring in sentinels/robots to pick up the slack.
Didn't think about it before but Deku's intelligence might be inherited from his father. -

Didn't think about it before but Deku's intelligence might be inherited from his father.I don't see how that could be a theory. Deku isn't a genius. He's smart enough and obsessive. It never struck me as well above the norm. Although with his class and his rank in class he's definitely a good study to be 4th. But also I'm not someone that really believes much in the inheritance of smarts. Although I am grateful he's a smart protagonist and not headstrong and relying on his strength like many shonen heroes.
Speaking of fan theories. I saw one that Bakugou might be deaf or hard of hearing.

I thought she could only attracts small objects.

I thought she could only attracts small objects.
That is the irony. Telekinesis is basically attracting objects and can often be very powerful, but she can only pull in small objects.
-

Wow, I feel bad laughing but that would be glorious.
Agree with inheriting intelligence, but I'm going by manga logic. He's not a genius but he is smart and Hori might be using that as a hint Deku's father is smart too. Speaking of crazy theories, I'm gonna throw Stain in the ring of people who might kill All Might. The guy isn't taking over the VA, he's not staying in prison the rest of the series, and it's the only thing I feel the character has left to do. A guy like Stain won't accept All Might retiring, thinking all heroes should die in battle or something like that.
-
I don´t see Stain killing All Might, he surely will see his final battle against AFO and cry like a kid, though if you look at it like a mercy kill it actually could make sense. I mean, All Might is powerless now, so he is teaching a new generations of heroes, I can´t see Stain being against that unless he thinks that All Might suffers because of it.
-
with all his yelling and how much he doesn't listen worth a damn, I wouldn't be surprised if Bakugo blew out his hearing years ago and just doesn't want to admit it
-
I thought she could only attracts small objects.
Quirks are just like any physical ability: they don't start out being incredibly powerful, you have to train them. Inko clearly never bothered with her quirk, but someone with Izuku's mentality and pursuing a hero career could probably turn it into a major power.
-
It does weirdly make sense in some scenes lol.
Starting off yelling sprees with "Huuuh!?" Or "What the fuck did you just say?!" And we're all just assuming it causes he's a shonen bully type lol. Or maybe being especially mad at Deku's muttering cause it sounds like nonsense.
-
Deku probably sounds like an adult in Peanuts to Bakugo most of the time

Miro… God what a badass
-
Awesome chapter, and really well paced. Got to show case Mirio's abilities in action in an actual conflict, all while trying to protect Eri. Really gave me reason to see him as being the next possible All Might, and how Night Eye would be disappointed in Deku being the successor. Then it all culminates into that last page, where it's going to be hard to see Mirio get hit and have his quirk nullified, but makes for a great ending spot for the chapter.
-
I wonder what would happen if Eri was hit with one of those bullets? I'm assuming…nothing, right?
-
Overhaul's backstory sure is paralleling Shigaraki's. Except they differ in how much they care about their teammates.
Overhaul's Quirk reminds me of Crocodile's Ground Death and Doflamingo's Awakening. He's even a better Pica than Mimic was lol, although probably not as versatile.
It would be tragic if Mirio dodges the Quirk nullification bullets, but gets shot or stabbed with one by a fearful Eri who wants to end the conflict before he gets killed. It would be a better twist than getting shot by a random zealous minion.
-
In before they shoot at the girl and Miro jumps in front of the bullet out of instinct and loses his quirk

Oh. That's… a lot more predictable. I can't believe I didn't consider that lol.
-
Wow, really don't think I want to see many Mirio fights in this series.
-
Well that was one of the most intense action sequences I've seen in a while.
-
Eri's not his kid? Wonder where she came from then. Or if he meant that as in one of those insulting ways.
-
Mirio is gonna take a bullet targeting Eri, is the only way he wouldn't phase it. Now the question is, will Chisaki murder or cripple him after he is left quirkless or not?

On all seriousness, I guess Batman is the only hero that comes into my mind when it comes to useful cape.
-
Oh man I loved this chapter. I'm not sure how I feel about this arc overall but when it hits, it hits hard.
-

Nah, she's not his kid. In the previous chapter, one of Overhaul's minions gave something like a "…Oh yeah, that." response to Mirio saying Eri is Overhaul's daughter, implying that they had to catch on to it being a lie.
I want to bet that she is related to the suck Yakuza leader.
-
I wonder how does the cape works with mirio's quirk, if it goes all intangible at the same time if he makes the part that he's touching intangible, or he somehow has full control of it as with the rest of his body.
You can say that the quirk is weak all you want, but the fact that he has the "glitch" of being rejected by matter instead of just getting impaled, spliched, or fused is a hell of an advantage.

Mirio's costume, cape included I presume, has his hair woven into it so it's able to phase with him as part of his body. Unless you mean something else I'm missing
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Some personal theory revision:
Assuming she's not some random kid, Eri is the Hassaikai boss' daughter or granddaughter. Would explain why he'd be so against overhaul's plan and why overhaul made sure he was out of the way.
Mirio will lose his quirkbutEri well have a way to restore it via her own quirk. After the way Overhaul said she's only good for destroying things that is clear setup for her to do exactly the opposite.
-
Yeah, i get it about the hair, and the rest of the costume would work like a 2th skin, but the cape isn't touching him directly, so i wonder if he has control over it, or just phases as soon as his shoulders phase.
-

I agree with the conflict setup, but I hope it's something more creative than conveniently being able to learn how to restore Quirks. I would prefer for her way of proving Overhaul wrong to be more figurative in what she can do as a reliable person, or at least finding help that allows her Quirk to be used for unexpectedly good things. Overhaul wasn't talking about just her Quirk rather than everything about her in general, like attracting heroes to help her out that might get killed by the Cleansers.
Mirio having his Quirk destroyed but then restored would feel like such a copout.
-
I'm not a fan of this arc, but Mirio is incredible, great character.
I wanted Shigaraki to be the one who ultimately combated Overhaul but this is just as good. -
Woo baby! What a chapter! Just like to mention I love Horikoshi's way of naming chapters. If chapter 152 is called "Mirio Togata?" I will stand and applaud.
Yep, the party's over Mirio, assuming this is the permanent quirk remover bullets. Guess Deku wins by default. For possibly being the leader's kid or grandkid, Overhaul treats her like crap. No wonder most of the gang hates him. Agree Overhaul is Yakuza Shigaraki. More wood for the Shigaraki Kills Him fire.
-
I am all for the dramatic effect, but I would also like to see Deku getting shot and not being affected by it. Which depending on how recurrent Overhaul is, could give him a hint into the secret of One for All.
Or Deku simple throwing a punch and making the bullet fly elsewhere. Togata getting hit might lead Deku to ask more about the inheritance process of One for All and see the secret that All Might is hiding.
Great chapter, loved the fighting sequence Togata got.
-
Can Deku punch a bullet?
-
I don't think we've seen him be particularly durable. He gets stabbed and punched pretty normally.
He could probably deflect it with a wind gust. But I'm not sure he's fast enough.
-
But can All Might punch a bullet unscathed?
-
-
Lmao. It took me far too long to remember what that audio was from.

I'm not sure of the episode. But I think it was just one of those stand alone scenes before the theme song that don't have anything to do with the rest of the episode. Like Ron pulling his tooth during a meeting.
-
I'm still holding a little bit of hope that the author won't go for the very predictable scenario regarding Mirio
Anyway, I'm having a hard time enjoying the manga when Bakugou isn't around so I hope we'll finally get to see him do hero stuff in the next arc.

I found it. It's an unaired cold opening from Season 3 episode 13.
Immediately after "The Fight" first aired, a "Producer's Cut" version was made available on the official NBC.com website. It included an additional four minutes of material, that include a previously-unaired cold open in which Ron sternly demands to know which employee has broken the parks department's coffee machine; this prompts a fight as the staff makes accusations against each other. Ron secretly reveals to the camera that he broke the machine himself but questioned the other employees anyway to deliberately start the arguments.
Makes sense why I couldn't remember this. The aired opening is Tom asking everybody to come to the Snakehole Lounge for his Snake Juice drink.
