Not a big fan of Hiatus, but those gaps in between chapters… I guess it's better to ignore it all and reread the manga from a point after 30 years or something.

After so long, jumping right into this was uber jarring. Like, who's this guy? And that other guy? Amd THAT other guy? Are they important?
And most important, why do they all talk so much? Their loved ones don't pay them much attention so they need to tell us, the reader, as much as they can to feel good with themselves?

So Kurapika's mentor suggests he save one of his chains so that he can function better with allies and Kurapika picks an ability that would take their ability and could even leave them defenseless since it can put them in a state of zetsu. Great guy :ninja:. And emperor time is still as broken now as it seemed when we were introduced to it.

Ehh I don't think Kurapika has been over powered up. Yes he has been given a massive boost in ability in the last few chapters, but honestly he has just been raised up to a level that makes him reasonably in the same league as those he is now interacting with. Not saying they showed anything he did to earn it, but the powers he has received would not make him a match for people like Meruem or Isaac Netero. Given the previous conversations, and honestly the lack of greater concern by the really powerful of the hunters association, it seems reasonable to believe that there are even stronger Nen users out there that were not overly concerned about the chimera ants. Judging by that comarison, Kurapika is pretty weak.

yeah lol compared to Meruem he is weak and so is everyone.
The only person we're pretty sure is haxed on this ship is Gin though. And Kurapika doesn't have to compete with him, neither does he have to interact with him btw. We're probably gonna skip Gin and Beyond's team for a while until they reach the DC. It's fine to finally show what this chain can do, but stealing people's abilities is redundant.Sairid could have used his ability himself and that would have been fine.

This plot requires you to actually remember what is happening, the details and the identity of the characters, something that is impossible to me with all the hiatuses and HxH chapter are definitely not "reread friendly", so no way I am going to reread the same walls of text dozens and dozens of times until I can get to the end of this arc.
Absolutely love Togashi's work, but I will read this arc as casually as possible, I don't even plan to try to understand what's going on, and will keep pretending HxH ended with the Chimera Ants arc. -

Oh boy, where to start. Well, Leorio is only a zodiac because him punching Ging did a great deal for his popularity among hunters during the elections, so adding him to the team is just a mean to aggregate more valuable assets.
The thing on why Ging hasn't been to the DC before, is probably because he can't work very well with people for a long periods of time, even his pals that created GI seems to tolerate him more than liking him, and it has been show that is not easy to get out of the known world waters. My guess on the four conditions are: "Permission" should be a approval of V5, now V6, otherwise they would probably hire the association to hunt you if you made it public, "qualifications" should mean have a competent team with very experienced members excelling in their particular field, "Means" it's basically a boat, a good one and finally "Contract" should be the contract with the gatekeepers from them to guide you from the limits of the known world waters into the shores of lake Moebius. -

I tried to read it .I know some of the introduction plot like how Gon went overseas to look for his Dad and how Killua is raised in an assassin family . I only read the recent arcs though (Chimera arc , some parts of GI arcs , and the dark continent arc) and I kinda hate to say this , but I don't think HxH really lived up to its hype. The battle was very tactical , I guess , but I don't really think storywise it's as interesting as Naruto or One piece (I know many people will say Naruto copies HxH and HxH is the best manga ever , but I don't think HxH has pretty interesting story).So , do people consider HxH good only because it's a nostalgia anime ? You know, like how people said Dragonball is the best manga , even though I think the story is kinda linear :"Goku get strong , stronger enemies appear , Goku/Z fighters get even stronger" but because its their childhood manga , Dragonball always become their favorites .

Isn't Gon basically similar to Luffy? Cheerful and easy going but gets really furious when his close friend killed? I think Gon still keeps his morals on even after Pitou blitzed Kaitou , shown by how he was willing to wait for Komugi's surgery .

That may be part of the issue. The build up arcs are slower paced for darn sure, but they are what help you connect to the characters and really want them to succeed. They show you the relatable parts to characters and provide the tragedies that shaped most of the characters

Entirely possible. As I said above, most people read the starting arcs and have a connection to the characters

It's hard to believe someone would enjoy a story as much as they should by skipping the first half. You don't go to a theater after the first hour of a movie and expect to properly enjoy it.

If anyone reads past the first half of a story for any reason just to catch up , they get what they deserve. You'll feel no connection to the characters and none of the depth that went into molding them into what they are.

Togashi's amazing ability of telling a story never ceases to amaze me. Two totally new characters introduced by a dialogue and yet you end up caring for them in less than 10 pages. Wow, just wow.

Not really all that much happened in this chapter besides setup. It is still delicious set up, where Togashi is pilling problem after problem on top of one another. Now the 4th Prince might be learning nen, and Theta will have to teach him. Could lead to some great scenes. I guess Halkenburg's bodyguards are all dead, for some unexplained reason.
