Japanese Lyn isn't fond of the dress either loool
@Serenes:
Oh god, Lyn's intro line in Japanese is absolutely perfect: 「似合わなくて悪かったわねぇ!」, "Well, I'm SORRY this doesn't suit me! (pout, pout, stomp away)".

Oh phooey you guys, they're just silly fun costumes, like spring variants and the leaked Christmas ones. What's the harm? Although it'd been a little more appropriate to sub out some for canonical wives like Louise or Deidre.
Um, how about the sheer obviousness of taking characters and putting them in "waifu" outfits to appeal to mostly male fan service?
The skins themselves have no sense with the characters either. Yea, Lyn hates it because it makes no sense. As a character, the dress does not fit her and the whole notion as treating her mainly as a "bride" reduces her character considerably. This is clearly not done with consideration of who the characters are, but how presumably male audiences want to dress them up.
Fire Emblem is one of those video game series to have actually graced us with awesome, strong, and cool female characters… but nope, fandom keeps insisting on making them all "waifus" and defining them based on who you can marry and own, and now we have corporate interests appealing not to strong characterization but to all that waifu bullshit. It sucks having characters who you grew liking because of their strengths and independence and then seeing them being turned into fan service of a seriously disturbing kind. So yea, all nice and fun for you I guess, since you're the demographic they want for this, but for those wanting actual content with their favorite awesome characters being awesome, instead we get treated to this joke.
don't get how people don't find this waifu bullshit goddamn creepy. Stuff like Arms characters and Fire Emblem and squid sisters but nope, immediately you have a bunch of boys just get possessive over who their waifu is, over who is "thicc", acting like it's a joke on objectification but all the while becoming as creepy and disturbing as the entire idea they were mocking in the first place.
At least the spring costumes also included some of the male characters and put them in stupidly cartoonish outfits as well, but I honestly also had a problem with those. What better way to celebrate one of the most religious holidays than with playboy bunny outfits? That make no sense with the lore or the fanbase or anything? It's seriously goddamn stupid.

Deirdre needs two dresses for both her weddings, and the Arvis one needs to make her look like Cersei.
they really shoulda gotten Daisuke Izuka to draw Charlotte for this

Ah, I didn't want to open this can of worms….
I suppose I'm just too used to looking the other way in a sort of amused fashion for these kinds of things. It's not like I was drooling over the art and croaking "Lyn is my waifuu!!" but I apologize if I seemed so dismissive of it all, because I'm quote-unquote "part of the target demographic".
Regarding Lyn, I find her to be the oddest of these bride choices, especially when you remember that she's already getting a special costume like Lucina, Ike, and Roy. ....but all the same, I like Yamada Kotaro's artstyle and cracked a smile at her lines, sorry >_>
On a broader note, lots of FE fans do find waifu-related things creepy, hence the appropriate reaction to skinship, Camilla/Charlotte's attire in Fates, and so on. I've seen tons of rightful vitrol on reddit/Serenes.

Not to nitpick this, but Japan does not place the same amount of relevance on Easter as the West does. It's a simple formula - easter is bunny-themed commercially, we have sexualized bunny outfits, throw in popular FE characters and you're set. It sucks, but that's how it came to be.
….Mind you, I'm not really trying to defend all of this >_>

Don't ask "what's the harm?" if you're not prepared to hear the answer. Let's leave it at that.

Fair enough. Sorry for hitting a nerve. :/
If there's one thing i give props to Gaiden, Genealogy and echoes since these games let you use all your units on their maps(dungeons not included I fell like that my entire army(most of the times) is contributing something even if it's just as a shove bot/ support bonus bot because how every singly thing doubles you cough Boey cough.
Also at the post-game dungeon preparing "everyone" that's not named Alm for the dungeon because damn are the enemies bulky.
I managed to get 3-star Narcien! I'm rather proud of myself, as I tend to suck at these special maps.
What FE is he from? He's . . . . interesting.

Bloody brilliant.

Narcien is from Binding Blade, where he's one of Bern's generals. He plays a similar role as Valter in Sacred Stones, but without the creepy sadism and much more just a douchey careerist.
Faye is an annoying fangirl.
Also: Heroes has made me careless. Not dying in Heroes made me not pay enough attention and got Silque killed. Do over . . .

So he is. But he's amusing.

Fire emblem warriors news, 3 characters, one completely expected, and 2 OCs, do not steal.
What are their power levels?
Damn, those OC look terrible! The girl is not that bad, just too plain, but the guy…
If they gave them a sword/shield combo, then they are confortable with the variety they have of other characters weapons, right?
So those are the Lanas of the game? Or (you)?
Up to Act V, but let's talk about the rest of act IV.
! Celica's Side
The Tower of Duma is a pretty meaty dungeon with forced minibosses at the end of each floor. It can be a little daunting, but her influx of magic users and potential dread fighters do help a lot. The encounters get more and more difficult, forcing you to be on your guard. As much as I don't like to use it wilingly, Mila's Turnwheel will save you against the headache of restarting because you can't save.
! At the top, it's revealed to the others of Celica's deal, her soul for Mila's, and it shocks everyone. Naturally Jedah sends them all away, but we'll get back to him. From there, you can continue with Alm.
! Alm's Side
The first battle, with Magnus, is rather interesting - you split your team up but you cannot combine them at the end (baring Warp and flyers. The bottom is this chokepoint bridge leading up while enemies come from the east, while the northern part is where the boss and his soldiers are. Invoke again, mainly because witch spawns can go to hell.
! The second battle has our ol' buddy Slayde return. …...and it's rather dull. Unless you want to deal with multiple interlocking ranges of bows and magic, you pretty much HAVE to bait out the bow knights outside the walls, then pick them off one-by-one. Dread fighters have no range so they won't help, so Gray ended up doing 60% of the work because of his 5 range. He even one-rounded the boss (because of a crit?) on turn 1, which made me laugh so hard. Once the magic users and bow knights are dead, it's the Barons in between the walls.....and if you have magic, it's a total breeze. Slayde himself willl suicide into you.
! The final battle, against Rudolf himself....seemed tough at first. The AI is a little more advanced, given the Forify users around and the bow knights up on the walls have a sense of self preservation. Rudolf is meaty, with 50+ HP, good res, and 24 speed, enough to double everyone except Delthea and whoever had the Speed Ring. Advancing seemed bad.
....so I tried spamming Invoke on my second try, just to get Rudolf closer to the starting position. Damn it all, it worked, and he has no 2 range, so you have to pepper him with all you've got to kill him. For a finishing blow, I used Alm.
! And he's dead......but apparently Alm is his son. (????) Mycen was entrusted to take him away because of the emperor's plan, he wanted a world without the madness of gods and humans to fall victim to him, and in his conquests, he knew people would hate him for it. Making his son be the finisher would lessen the blow.
! Now this twist isn't really THAT far-fetched when you realize that both Alm and Celica have a brand on their hands, and the latter is connected to the Zofian royal line. The problem is, I feel, is that we go from saving Zofia to marching onward when people start suggesting Alm be the king or Alm takes the empire. But why? Wasn't the original point of making him the leader is to inspire the support of the common man? Nobles like Clive or Clair would certainly have more of a country leadership than our hero, who rightfully stays humble. In a way, it underwhelms the charm of the first part of the story - a nobody like Alm rising up for greatness. Would Rudolf even know he'd lead the Deliverance? I suppose that's part of the reason why Mycen declined.
! The goal next is to go to Duma Tower and slay the mad god. Now, in Echoes, Mila and Duma are pegged as (divine) dragons, meaning they're vulnerable to the same kind of madness we've seen in Marth's story. So Duma being this way I get, but Mila….was never hostile, her country is lazy compared to Rigel being power-hungry. You think it paints both in the wrong and fitting of what Rudolf tried to carry out, but here's the rub - the Duma faithful.
The notion of two gods in a "both wrong, both right" situation isn't balanced when you have these Grimleal/Loptyr sect-esque people obviously evil and harming innocents in their own country. Jedah himself needed to be more subtle, because he has dark eyes and discolored skin, of course he'd deceive Celica. If he looked a little more normal she wouldn't look so foolish.
! Granted, Celica was burdened by the callousness of her own father, and thought she was the last royal member, and all along she wanted to find a way that didn't rely on bloodshed. So I certainly cannot blame her all that much. Just a little more subtlety. All in all the story is still very very solid and has me hooked.
! On the flip side, Ian Sinclair continues to be amazing in Berkut's breakdown. He's gone utterly mad with jealously and hatred for Alm that he's sacrificed Rinea to Duma and wiped out Fernand. The final battle with him looks…..woof.

DLC and sequels ahoy.
At least Roy will not be on it.
Disappointing, at least Ike and Lyn should get in.

Or it will be like hyrule warriors, and Linkle/Skull kid/Tetra for dlc campaigns only or worse like Tingle/Ravio/young link, no plot impact at all.

Completely random EDIT: Since the serenesforest domain is blocked here at my work, I threw the image url at google's image search so I could see its thumbnail. At "Best guess for this image" I got "consecuencias del conflicto armado en colombia".

ugggh I was afraid of this happening it doesn't break it for me but it makes me feel less excited for it (only a little bit though).
Is Shadow Dragon really popular in Japan or something? Because worldwide it almost killed the series, but IS still seems to have a hard-on for all the non-characters of the game.
The Marty Party will continue another day.
@KageKageKing:
At least Roy will not be on it.
This is the most important thing here.
I have official confirmation that for the sake of weapon variety, Bride Lyn will be used over regular Lyn
Well, interest in the game is dead.
they did say "mostly"
considering Lyn is officially the top waifu now, she'll still be in I'm sure
for like 4.99
"The characters that appear are generally from Shadow Dragon, Awakening, and Fates"
"generally" either says to me that we'll get one or two notable characters from other games, or that it just means "alongside these original characters"
but either way, notable axe users in fire emblem can be counted on one hand, so if any non-mounted axe user gets in
probably ol' hec
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
on another note, they said that the base roster will be larger than any of other musou series collaboration
meaning that they'll beat out Gundam Musou's 20 (i think) and much more than Hyrule Warriors's 13
not bad, for a first go. I can see them expanding it to ~35 after DLC
This just in, IntSys has announced that there will be no axe users in Fire Emblem Warriors because there has never been any axe users in Fire Emblem ever and any other words to the contrary are heresy and shall be punished accordingly by the Grand Inquisitor, Sigurd.
Lyn won a poll recently, didn't she? That helps her chances a little.

I'm receiving news that an axe user has just been announced for the first time in the fire emblem series
a simple woodcutter, called to defend his homeland, Barst
please welcome him warmly
Well the villains side just took one hell of a hit.
Because without however OC villains they include the most interesting one since it's a Musou will be Walharth
F3 spoilers
! unless they include Hardin but he just becomes a villain in the sequel and not in Shadow dragon
Because everyone else will be either be a evil dragon or a evil Sorcerer… and Fates villains.
are you saying that you didn't love the villainous stylings of such nuanced and complex antagonists such as
hans

It is, yes. I think in a fan-poll a while back, Mystery of the Emblem ranked as the fan's favorite game.

My favorite part of the movie with him involved was when Anna punch him out of the boat.

Hans is a simple man with simple tastes, like laughing and killing people. Don't be mean to him.

Japan has awful taste. Was there even a point to that character popularity poll?

Don't shoot the messenger. Tellius has always been my jam.

"generally" either says to me that we'll get one or two notable characters from other games, or that it just means "alongside these original characters"
Sources appreciated. Also I do interpret generally as a caveat to include original characters. There's otherwise no reason to release info about how limited their scope is. They clearly want expectations to be clear.

http://gematsu.com/2017/05/fire-emblem-warriors-adds-twin-original-protagonists-marth-chrom
i'm mostly expecting hec because he's literally the only notable non-mounted axe in the series
not even Marty can stand up to hector's notoriety
You know, that whole "Too Many Lords/sword user" issue could be resolved if you mix things up. Like give someone who was a knight lord a sword and shield, give Ike a massive zweihander, Marth or Roy a rapier fencing style, Corrin with his/her acrobatic style, Robin and a sword and tome, Chrom could dual-wield, etc. Be creative.
we did already see Chrom throwing a spear in the reveal, so characters with multiple weapons at their disposal will likely make use of them

Five Moves of Doom Lucina
Sigurd going Human Torch
Leif w/ gun
Eliwood, on a horse, wielding Isadora, also on a horse
Ike embraces the fact that he is technicolor Guts and gets a metal arm with an automatic crossbow built in.
Tharja eschews the barbarity of dark magic for the subtle classic weapon of her yandere kin
the chainsaw
I can't help but think I'm taking the piss here. :P
Reyson with a bow… WHILE IN BIRD FORM!
Seriously though, multiclass is an abomination and should be shunned to the darkest confines of hell.
