What so is that easy to modify the subs? I always believed Onepace would be amazing with spanish subs but always thought it was like making all the same again and again.

well do you mean translating the english to spanish yourself?
yeah you can do that.

Yep, I'd do that. Most of spanish fansubs are really bad, I'd not just copy what they have done if you thought that.

well just download MKVToolNix
and extract the subtitle track using mkvextract
I just wanted to say that One Pace is one of the best things to appear on the internet in quite some time. It salvages the anime and makes it the definitive OP experience, IMO.
One thing I noticed - it might just be me - is that the music sounds softer compared to Toei's releases. It makes it hard to hear at times.

Not sure what to tell you here, since we don't modify the volume. It's all from the raw Crunchyroll stream that we use.
We do add in the tracks when we have to end the OST after a cut, but the volume is matched to the volume of Crunchyroll's raw.
I guess it is just me then.
Oh well, nothing wrong with watching OP loudly, I suppose.
Will there be an episodes release schedule for May?
And will it be mainly for Dressrosa releases?

Whole Cake 1 is coming first, as I edited it before Toei started adding new OSTs to the episodes. After that, Dressrosa will be all I focus on until it's done, although, I may get Whiskey Peak and Little Garden finished as well since they've been sitting around for ages. Then, if there's no news of an OST release, I'll move on to another arc. This is all subject to change based on the amount of new OSTs they add.
You can probably also expect the remaining episodes of Impel Down to release sometime in the summer.
Nyаа being deleted isn't gonna affect you I hope?
Nyаа being deleted isn't gonna affect you I hope?
All of our torrents are on our website, and they use trackers other than Nyaa, so we'll be fine.
…And it probably won't take nearly as long as the Dressrosa OSTs took.

Whole Cake's OST will release in mid July.
What would be your stance on the Big Mom musical number from last episode? Technically it happened in the manga, though the little bits of prelude before it weren't. Are you planning on trimming it at all, or would it just be better to keep it as is?
I really love One Pace, but I do have to admit there's been some good filler moments added to Zou & WCI - but of course still tons of awful padding which makes One Pace necessary. Still - as a crazy One Piece fan, it's nice to have all these different options - this is really such an impressive project.

It depends on if cutting any of it would create an abrupt cut in the OST. I'll have to assess it when I edit the sequence.
In the project have you ever used a different OST than the one chosen by the studio, or are sound channels to linked for that to work? I don't know much about sound design/editing, so excuse my noob-ishness lol. I know pacing is the prime goal of the project & that (At least imo) most of the OST is pretty great - but sometimes tracks are overused/played in odd time, so I was curious if you ever saw fit to change one? That is if you can lol.

It's impossible to change the OST in an episode. It's all in stereo audio (2 channels) so the music and the voices/sound effects are stuck together.
Only if Toei starts releasing Blurays with 5.1 audio (5 channels) will we be able to separate the music from the voices.
We have added outside OSTs and One Piece OSTs to silent scenes before, but we rarely do it. If we add an OST to a silent scene, it is so the beginning of the next scene that actually had the music playing in the original cut can be shortened. This also applies to ending a soundtrack, by cutting away from a scene that had music and going to a scene that didn't.
Whole Cake Island 01
is zou finished?
is zou finished?
Zou 10 was the final Zou episode.
A batch of the entire arc will be released in the coming weeks with some minor changes.
Thanks for another great episode, can't wait for the summer releases. Crazy that nyaa is gone now though.
Thanks for another fantastic release!

Whole Cake Island 01
Thanks m8ty
Looked forward to this one for ages
Awesome work, guys! Will get to watching Zou and the other arcs. Saw the latest Dressrosa episode a few days ago, it was good. The editing was mostly unnoticeable so great thing, especially musical cuts.
I also really like how you sometimes incorporate colored manga panels. I was hoping you'd add in one for Law's middle finger scene actually (for episode 40), is that possible to be done at some point? Maybe it doesn't really fit the flow of the scene, though. Maybe that's why it wasn't there.
We really try to avoid doing the colored manga panels nowadays. They really just don't fit in with the artstyle of the anime, and look awkward since they aren't animated.
Galaxy can you post what the new one pace releases info are: Covered toei episodes, covered chapters & length of release. I used to take that info from your torrent posts on nyaa, but with nyaa gone I don't know where else to find them.
I just realized I don't need the covered chapters as they are now part of the release name and I can get the length easy but I still need the covered episodes part.

Do you need any for any of the prior releases?

could you add the episode numbers beside the chapter numbers in the file names?
could you add the episode numbers beside the chapter numbers in the file names?
No. That'd just make the file name cluttered. Some episodes would repeat, as some are used in two One Pace episodes. Then some of the file names would just be awkward, with stuff like "780-782, 784, 787".
Dressrosa 42
Nice work on 42!
I actually only noticed a single music cut, and it was handled so smoothly I don't think it's worth listing. Barring that, the only error I noticed was a lowercase D (as in, will of D) at 4:51.
Keep it up dudes! :)
Thanks for the great work, but damn, this fight still feels sluggish. I guess it's just messed up beyond repair
Know of a good app to play torrents for galaxy I tried bitx but it wouldnt play the images

If you're trying to play our files, I doubt they will work on mobile. We use the x265 encoding method and mkvs, which I've never heard of working on mobile.
I suggest going to http://onepace.net/watch/ and watching the streams in a mobile browser.

Out of curiosity, what cut was it?
As for the subtitle error, I'm now in the process of updating the torrent/stream with it.
Here's the xdelta file for anybody who knows how to patch a video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/15pkvxc8ur5bjad/DR42%20Patch.xdelta?dl=0
Using that will allow you to have the updated version without redownloading.

It was at 3:34. While it was certainly noticeable, I didn't find it jarring, because as far as I can tell, you've added some sort of cross-fade to soften it. You've also timed the underlying beats in the score nicely.

That's what I tried first but the streams are extremely choppy even though i have 3/4 bars so I dont know what's happening, Ive tried stopping and starting for minutes at a time but 30 secomds is the most it goes for me

You should be able to download the stream itself, then. Press and hold on the video and a prompt should come up to download.
You'll be able to watch those downloaded mp4s on your phone easily.

Ah, that one. There is a small fade there indeed. I was iffy about it from the beginning because of the volume change, but I'm glad it's not too jarring!

Only the last two: Dressrosa 41 & Whole Cake Island 01

Only the last two: Dressrosa 41 & Whole Cake Island 01
Dressrosa 41 - Episodes 723-725
Whole Cake Island 01 - 777-779, 783 (And 130 for the Robin flashback, but not significant enough).
So, why aren't you guys using x265 ? I noticed that you started using it mid-Dressrosa then stopped.
Doesn't it equal double the quality ?

Every single one of our new releases for the past 2 years have been encoded in the x265 format.
The only videos that aren't are the streams, because the web player can't handle it. Otherwise, the only torrent downloads that aren't x265 are the ones we released before switching at the beginning of 2015.
And no, x265 doesn't equal double the quality. It just results in the same quality as a video encoded in x264, with a smaller file size.
Dressrosa 43
http://onepace.net/2017/05/20/dressrosa-43/
Cheers for 43!
You've kept a good thing going since last episode, as this one was handled very smoothly, too. :)
Really, the only cut I noticed was the music skipping half a beat at 2:26. It's just a split second off, but it's a minor one.
That's it! Rest of the episode seemed close to flawless to me. Well done, dudes!
I feel you try too hard to cut every little second of pause. Like, cutting the half second of Burgess smirking or the half second before he starts talking. I can understand issues with the pacing but are people that impatient that they can't deal with such minor pauses? Plus, pauses between dialogue are (sometimes not always) natural in some scenes.
The flip side of this personal criticism is how you handled the horrible, horrible padding with Luffy and Doffy staring each other down which shows why this project is worth the effort. Don't take anything I said personally, but perhaps consider saving your efforts for the scenes that truly need it rather than the minor little pauses that really aren't that bad to begin with. Regardless though, good work nonetheless.
I feel like that mentality is kind of a double edged sword. On one hand, I understand that some dialogue pauses can feel natural and be beneficial. However, in the case of One Piece I never feel like Toei is putting them in for THAT reason. It's always to fill time. And by taking out these second and half seconds of time not only does it make the episode flow faster but also reflect the pace of the original manga. Which is, of course, the entire purpose.
And, unfortunately, since they've been using this technique of cutting frames for so long, choosing to not use it once and letting a scene play out normally runs the risk of having it stand out compared to everything around it, which would play out more quickly. I'm also sure there's probably some kind of middle ground that could be reached but then I think, on the other hand, you can't please everyone. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
At the end of the day I'd say the occasional unnatural cut is just a necessary evil for this project. And I'll take that over the original episodes any day of the week.
The anime should never be a 100% reconstruction of the manga panels. There's a difference between how you flip the page (BAM BAM BAM) versus watching events play out on screen, including occasionally showing what connects point A (BAM) to point B (BAM). This type of progression feels natural when reading it in comic form but having too fast a pace in the anime is just as problematic as having too slow of a pace. When people talk they don't spit fire sentences without a pause in speech and having a natural transitional shot of the background is also good for breaking things up (unless it's the occasional 2 minute pan over or something which I do agree with trimming down). What I'm trying to say is I agree with trimming obviously extended scenes such as Luffy and Doffy breathing each other down for 5 minutes which is just plain ridiculous even if they're both injured. But I don't feel it's necessary to remove a .5 second shot of a character smirking just because it doesn't show up in the manga. These are just my thoughts and I know I'm just one opinion but there are probably a few who agree with me.
It's not my project of course so I don't expect people to listen to me but I figured I'd put a different perspective out there. I for one just don't agree with cutting every little thing that's not in the manga because some (not all) of the implied filler really does the original content justice, especially when Oda skips over a lot of stuff lately.

The idea of "good filler" has come up multiple times in the project's lifespan.
The problem it is it opens the project up to being subjective instead of objective. People would be able to argue for hours on not including a certain scene, or on not cutting a specific scene. This is why we stay objective and stick "to the manga", unless music/Toei's animation goofs don't allow. The only thing I'll leave in if possible is establishing shots of the area where the scene takes place, even if the shot is not in the manga, because that's necessary for a visual medium.
As for natural pauses in speech, I do try and keep them whenever possible. But I don't really consider Toei's additional reaction faces (smirks, shocked faces, questioning faces) to be beneficial to the pacing. They are mostly placed to fill in time in the Toei anime.
Dressrosa 42 and 43 were great! G4 was handled really well. Fast and furious.
any reason there isn't a zou batch?
any reason there isn't a zou batch?
It hasn't been made yet. It will be when I make changes to the episodes, but that isn't my main focus at this time.
