Just finished Dressrosa Ep 40. Another improvement, I'm happy to say! I noticed a few of the cuts, but really, none were particularly bad. For a lengthy episode to be handled so smoothly, well done One Pace team!! :)
Wow, Feeso, that's quite an ambitious new direction for the One Pace project. :P

Nice one ;) The sad thing is I immediately knew it was fake without looking at the date, by automatically thinking "Not possible. 4 pages of ch. 824 missing in the anime before you can do that". I'm too invested in OP.

It's definitely being seeded. Maybe there was temporary downtime when you tried to download.

I saw Feeso posting and thought nice Feeso is back then saw what you did, thanks for crushing my heart Feeso.

lol I'm sorry for disapointing you, I guess you can consider it part of the april fools gag? Well regardless it was fun editing the gag as a one off, it didn't take long as there was no need to worry about QC and the intention was to be bad haha.

@Count:
It does exist for Naruto. Look up Naruto KAI. They remove filler and make episodes to match the length of each manga volume. They also worked in both Japanese and English dubs up until a certain point in the Fourth Great Ninja War due to the English Dub being behind. Last I checked, they did up to Volume 70 out of 72 for the Japanese dub/English subs.
The Naruto Kai project specifically is actually dead, since it's main editor was in rehab for a while from drug addiction and only recently has returned. As of now the Kai cut hasn't got any working links, so the only available version of anything like it is the "cut-to-manga" edit: http://tehparadox.com/forum/f42/naruto-cut-manga-aka-anime-922301/
The series has been finished through volume 72, the dual-audio version is just stuck at #67.
@Galaxy:
We edited dual audio versions of the Davy Back Fight and Reverse Mountain, but we ultimately decided to stop producing dual audio since it requires double the audio editing work.
Perhaps someday there can be a standalone dub version though. It's easy to edit alone since you can just separate the voices from the audio, which would allow you to readd soundtracks as you see fit.
This is something I'd love to see and be willing to work on. I have been since I heard this project existed without a dual-audio version, in fact. I may be completely hallucinating this and have gone crazy, but I seem to remember there being project files of the Pace episodes available for download on the site at some point. They aren't there now, as it happens, but if I were to try (emphasis on try, I'm hardly someone who really knows what he's doing here) it'd make it a lot easier if I had them. Am I literally insane or is there a reason they were removed?

Thank you for correcting me. I was misinformed and downloaded those videos around two years ago.

Yes, it is temporarily down.

I'm not certain if the files were ever avalible to the public but I remember talks about allowing access to them at some point. If you are serious about wanting to work on dual audio I recomend joining the discord server and talking to Gal about it, ATM we have a rercruitment test for new editors so he may ask you to do it to show you can use Vegas. The reason the dub was dropped was due to time restrictions but if someone was willing to go in and swap in the dub files for old episodes, I think that could be a decent comprimise as an active editior wouldn't be delayed by the extra work.

Any idea on when the website will work again? And why is it down?

When is the new totto land! REEE!

It's all up to when our host restores the MySQL database.

When is the new totto land! REEE!
Probably not anytime soon. We had an internal discussion and decided that since Totto Land seems to have new OSTs in the episodes, that we're going to wait and see just how many there are. I might release the first episode of the arc though, since it didn't have any new OSTs and it was pretty much finished before we came to that decision.
I'll be finishing Dressrosa and then I'll see how many new OSTs they've added.
As for the "when" on releases. Trello is the best place to check.
Finals are coming up for me, so expect Dressrosa 41 sometime in the next 3-5 days, since it's almost to being timed. Then expect Impel Down to release for the rest of April.
-
I really enjoy this series, thank you very much for making it guys! Sometimes the cuts are a bit blatant, but as many times and more I can notice clever cuts, piece-togethers and even some smart and thematic ways to end an episode. Rearranging of the material is also much appreciated.
Any idea when your host will come around to restore the MySQL database? Is it a long process - as in something crashed and has to be retrieved - or something else?
-
The website is back up. There was a few months of data loss (layout wise). Expect the missing episodes to be available on the website tonight or tomorrow as we fill in the data again.

no backups?
there are free backup wordpress plugins that will do automatic ones.

We had a backup that was a few months old. We'll be backing up weekly from now on.
Our database is separate from WordPress though.

@Galaxy:
If you've got any examples of jarring cuts in Dressrosa 25+, feel free to send them this way. The editor for the arc switched midway through (to me), since the older editor wanted to edit Impel Down and didn't have time for weekly Post Timeskip releases. I came into the role with small editing experience, and I've definitely been taking musical cuts into account more and more as my edited releases have continued.
I'm not the one who complained about jarring cuts, but I remembered the conversation and during my last rewatch of the Dressrosa arc (up to episode 40) I took notes where I noticed or thought I noticed things without paying close attention. Here's the list. Make of it what you will.

Sad news for Totto great (great for me) news for Dressrosa
I keep thinking about this but I don't know how it can done, but you should try to have a place where people can go and write issues they find with the episodes, this way you don't have to keep saving them yourself, people can check if what they found is already written by someone else and will show everyone which episodes were checked. Like reporting issues with code maybe.
-
Just discovered One Pace a month back and just wanted to let you guys know that this is amazing! I have become interested in watching the anime again now thanks to one pace! Great job guys.
Is there a way see the list of torrents somewhere especially for the older arcs? -

It's very rare that it comes up. If an influx of posts pointing out fixes came into this thread, the Discord, and the comment section on our website, we'd probably make a section like you proposed.

When the website is fully operational again, you'll see a downloads tab at the top.

you guys don't seem to have torrent links on your site anymore?
all i see are the streaming episodes on the watch tab.

On that same "Watch" tab you'll find many of the arcs have torrent links or magnet links. The others are being fixed bit-by-bit.
For those look up "One Pace" on Nyaa and AnimeTosho for any missing episodes. If that doesn't give you what you're looking for, search "One Pace" on digbt.org as a last resort. As I said, we're trying to fix the remaining links.
-
All torrents should now be restored. If anybody sees anything missing, let us know here or in our Discord.
-
When will next episode of Dressrosa be posted?
Thanks again and Keep up the good work

When it's done. There is no set date at the moment.
Should be pretty soon though. It just needs some timing adjustments.

Dressrosa episode 36 is possibly corrupted, the file won't play on browser and also gets an error message when downloaded and played from any software.

The stream on the site should be working now.
What error message do you get from the downloaded file? Download a program like RapidCRC and verify the CRC matches the one in the file name.
-
Error code is 0x00d6d6e. On the website, it was giving me trouble for an unsupported file format.
Works on the site now!

Are you using MPC-HC and do you have the Combined Community Codec Pack? (http://www.cccp-project.net/)

No, but I'll install that.

What do the numbers next to the episodes mean (in the watch page as well as torrents)? They don't seem to correspond to the anime episodes. For example actual anime episodes for some of the arcs are as follows -
385-421 (Sabody Archipelago and Amazon Lilly Arc)
422-489 (Impel Down and Marineford Arc)
490-516 (Post Whitebeard War Arc)
517-522 (Return to Sabaody Arc) -

Is there any reason why you guys use "Rubber Fruit" instead of "Rubber Rubber Fruit"? And I'd assume you do the same for all fruits? Why go against the naming convention?
-
@Game:

i think they don't make the subs?
-
We do modify the subs.
It's mostly a consistency thing at this point, as it's in all of our releases. We decided long enough to omit the double fruit name because we believed that it didn't look good in English.
I don't care about changing it back, if people prefer the "Rubber Rubber" and etc.

Dressrosa 41
-
Thanks for 41! And thank you to Hephace, who took the time to go back and detail the cuts throughout Dressrosa. :) I also thought it was a good idea to take it a step further and categorize them.
The cuts that I noticed in 41:
Musical:
2:12
3:51
4:36
16:00
26:32The second half of the episode was better; the one at 26:32 was pretty minor.

easy enough to change yourself, just extract the subs and do a simple find/replace all in a text editor.
i change it to gomu gomu because reading rubber sounds weird to me and makes me think of the horrible dub.
-
man even with the changes it is still a tedious slow part of the anime
-
Wow thank you so much for Dressrosa 41!!!!!

What happened to 35-40 on the stream?
