Got my copies finally. The tale of Nyacha Libre can start!
Pokemon Ultra S&M - Let's Minecraft Pikachu and Eevee Quest
-
-
Could someone please trade me a Wimpod? The one i found fled and it apparently takes some time to respawn … ._.
EDIT: Okay, i forgot GTS exists... got one now.
Don't mind weakening it, pretty sure it is a guaranteed catch. I soft reset it 3 or 4 times to get a not-so-terrible nature and every single time I caught it by simply throwing a ball as soon as the fight started.
EDIT: Used a net ball, btw.
-
I used quick balls, but I'm worried that I'll run out, haven't seen where I get the other kinds of pokeballs, and someone gifted me some of the jotho balls, but only one.
-
Damnit, I'm already underleveled! I should have figured out earlier, though.
-
So finally got the game too <3
But I was Abit shocked when I found out, that charjabug! Needs to lvl up at the Canyon, wich you reach more or less later in the game, when the main Team should be lvl 40+. Cn some one confirm it, that you do no reach that place earlier?
-
Whew, finally got my ice sandshrew! And its got a fantastic nature that boosts its special defense while lowering its special attack. (Special attack being terrible anyway on a sandshrew, and special defense being a good bit weaker than its defense and needing the help.) And hidden move…. electric! She's gonna be amazing! I have named her Skadi
I also got a female sandalit, and going against the naming theme I've been using, have named her Draco Malfoy. (Cause Very Potter Musical) No great nature on this one, but its not detrimental at least.
Current team
! Skadi Fenrir Arachne
Scylla Sylvanus Draco Malfoy
! Rotating
Bastet Frampt Poseidon
Applejack Jing Wei
! Things I want (that I know of)
Cucumber scared thing
spiny thing hedgehog -
If it wasn't for rotom, electric would be the least combined type. I still owe this infographic.
-
So I thought I had my team all set, but then I ran into Mimikyu… and I just can't not use him. Especially since I named him after my favorite dog ;-;
-
I just arrived on the third island so here's some of my impressions.
Random thoughts about random pokémon:
- I picked Rowlet as my starter but because I avoided spoilers as much as possible I'm kind of underwhelmed by its evolution now. I have heard some promising details about its final form so maybe that'll be better.
- Alola Rattata looks so cool but I've used them so often I can't do it again. I used Alola Grimer for a while because apparently that random second color makes such a huge difference for me to enjoy its design. But…
- When I encountered my first Salandite I kind of fell in love. Too bad it can't really take any hits but I'll love it anyway. And it replaced Grimer.
- I like playing with Wishiwashi because it's just that strong but now that I've realized that it doesn't ever evolve (which makes sense, I guess), I'm probably going to replace it. Too bad the only other new water pokemon I have is part bug and I'm already leveling enough bugs as it is.
- Grubbin's evolution caught me totally off guard. It's so ridiculous. But I like it. Also because I was already going to replace the electric bird and use this bug type that actually has an electric move. How fortunate that it has the type now, as well. I have since learned that it won't be evolving for a while but it's capable enough as is.
- I didn't initially like Mudbray's design but it has won me over.
- I'd like to get some psychic type...
- Random plot stuff
- Yeah, the hand-holding is strong in this one. It's not great.
- Hau needs to have his grandfather get kidnapped or something. Pokémon training is serious business!!
- Lillie, can you please just shut up about not wanting to see pokémon get hurt when you always stay to watch them fight? I don't need your attitude. Go get your grandmother kidnapped.
- I really hope that the Aether foundation is just totally evil. I didn't trust them when I first met them and now after visiting their facility I'm just expecting them to have the worst motives. I guess Team Skull won't turn out to be the good guys in the end but that's okay.
- Random gameplay thoughts
- I like the Pokédex. Specifically the location finder that also tells me if a pokémon only appears at night/day.
- The trials have been fun so far and the ones on the second island have actually been challenging. I only managed to beat the Fire one immediately and maybe that's just because my donkey got lucky. Some strategy is needed which is nice.
- The Fire trial is amazing and made me laugh.
- Z moves are interesting, I guess. I don't really want to use them right now. I wonder how they will affect competitive play.
- Oh yeah, no HMs are a big plus.
-
You're welcome =P
Also, found a shiny Golbat earlier in the day, and just now hatched a shiny Vulpix. Good day! ^^
Thanks! belatedly.
-
At the first island how do you use the qr codes to unlock island scan?
-
Isn't the option in the menu yet? If not, keep going with the plot.
-
- When I encountered my first Salandite I kind of fell in love. Too bad it can't really take any hits but I'll love it anyway. And it replaced Grimer
I don't know if you are aware since you avoided spoilers, but Salandit's evolution has a requirement that keep some Salandit from evolving. In case you want to know:
! only females can evolve.
- Lillie, can you please just shut up about not wanting to see pokémon get hurt when you always stay to watch them fight? I don't need your attitude. Go get your grandmother kidnapped.
This and her complete inability to keep that damn thing inside her bag (so we have to see her complaining about it not being hidden every. single. fucking. time. And it's not like it even matter anyway, pretty much every NPC wherever she went has seen this thing and nobody gives a fuck about it) make me hate the character already.

Sorry, forgot to get back to you sooner! I've got a bunch of adamant spikes/aqua jet wimpods now, so gimme your FC and hmu whenever.

Ah, now a couple of earlier posts in here make more sense. My Salandit doesn't qualify, of course. Thanks for the info, I think I will backtrack a little bit now…
Edit: Only took me four encounters to get there. I also caught a Magby on the way. :Y

Unless you deleted it, it should still be there from last time pokemon came around when I gave you your first gogoat. Otherwise, I'll have to look it up.

Oh yeah! I remember that now, haha. I've got no memory for who I have on my 3DS since the last time I added anyone was for Smash. If you hop on to the festival plaza now, I should be there in a moment. Do you have a name pref?
-
Minior is an incredible little fella. Even with the armor on it still packs quite the punch, but when the gloves are off it goes savage. I for one welcome this pintsized powerhouse in my team. Hell yes, just one more slot to fill and my set will be complete.
-
Finally my Munchlax evolved, she's gonna be so great. :>
Finished the second kahuna battle.
! Olivia was tough. Dartix was risky to use because of its part flying typing, and Slowpoke's special attack was shit. Lyranscoe (sp?) was pretty tough, and its Z power move one-shotted Grimer.
! Nosepass was basicially a Spark/heal stalling with Slowpoke.
! I was expecting her last mon to be Probopass, but it was still a clutch battle. Snorlax tanked while I got to healing, and then Mimikyu finished with a couple of Shadow Sneaks. Its ability is amazing.
! Also, Kukui's wife is too cute. When she walked away, wondering who the masked guy was (obviously Kukui), she had a little blush and a happy embarrassed face. And Olivia is just…...mmmm <3Everyone is around level 25.

Well look like I am taking a sabbatical from the game as someone took my 3DS from work after I left it behind in my workspace
-
wouldn't you know it, taking on a rock specialist with a team that is literally all weak to rock was tricky
I still came out on top though. can't stomp this bug (and owl)
-
Finished all 3 trials, now I just have to face the kahuna.
. . . . . right after I go shopping for some new shirts.
-
The fishy outfit from the first store is still the best imo. Only thing I've gotten out of the others are shoes and a cute headband.
I'm somewhere between the Ghost trial and the next event, and my Pokemon were starting to seem really over-leveled, so I started training up some B teamers. Currently I have:
Ruka, the lvl 39 Primarina
Beano, the lvl 39 Lycanroc
Foleo, the lvl 40 Lurantis
Suuuper, the lvl 36 Crabrawler that's on hold until he can evolve and learn Ice Hammer
Boogie, the lvl 36 Mimikyu
Felix, the lvl 39 Vulpix
Rapunzel, the lvl 40 Sandygast
Pastia, the lvl 37 Ribombee (so adorable in Refresh)
Glare, the lvl 34 Araquanid (originally a throw away because I hate spiders, but his Dex entry made me give him a chance)
And Finally, the lvl 25 Salandit. -
sigh It's going to take a little while to get this Evee happy. And I'm going to have to use the Move Relearner.
My team is currently thus:
RuPaul lvl. 31 Brionne
Cerberus lvl. 29 Lycanroc
Toucan Sam lvl. 29 Toucannon
Tiamat lvl. 25 Sandalit
Tesla lvl. 29 Charjbug
Merlin lvl. 20 EveeI have a Rimbombee for backup in my box. But for the moment I'm concentrating on raising that Evee's happy level so I can get an Espeon.
-
Where is the Move Relearner anyway?

Very end of game, in the Pokecenter on top of the ice mountain. You need heart scales as always.
-
So is it a rule that every single Pokemon in this game has to know a Dark type move?
Also, WHOA! Leech Life got a serious upgrade. And seeing Fly as a TM is so weird.
Anyway, I'm on the third island and I'm still having trouble settling on a team (which I suppose is fine).

According to Serebii it's on the third island you visit. Which isn't as far as, say, Poni Island.

Mount Lanakila is where it's located which is literally just before the elite four. You don't have access to it until completing trials in Poni.

It's in a part accessible only at the end of the game.
-
Also. Heart Scales don't seem to be hard to get. It's a… reward you get for eating the biggest noodle bowl in a restaurant on the 4th island.
-
All restaurants except the buffet seem to give heart scales, the more your gourmet cells are compatible with the dish (or how many pieces of clothes you lose while describing how delicious it is) the more it gives?
-
Suuuper, the lvl 36 Crabrawler that's on hold until he can evolve and learn Ice Hammer
Crabominable learns Ice Hammer the same level Crabrawler learns Crabhammer. Since it doesn't get any other good physical Water move, but it can learn Ice Punch upon evolution (and with Iron Fist, it is almost as strong as Ice Hammer), I think I will let it learn the Crab one before evolving since you can always get Crabominable moves through Move Reminder.
Really sucks Move Reminder is so late game. Marowak whole moveset is pretty much only available through it.
-
Why … why does Golisopod keep the same ability?? Yeah it's called differently, but it does the same and it is annoying as hell ...
I'm actually thinking about replacing it. Mareane looks kinda neat.Anyway ... that's my team so far:
-Mr. Purrfect (Incineroar) Lvl. 37
-Howlie (Lycanroc - Day) Lvl. 37
-Mjölnir (Magneton) Lvl. 37
-Megalon (Golisopod) Lvl. 37
-Yui (Vulpix) Lvl. 37
-Ancora (Dhelmise) Lvl. 37 -

Don't underestimate it. That ability gives you a fast switchout, which gives you a free pivot, and when you put Golisopod back into the wring, you can use First Impression again, for another big priority shot.

Mareanie's evo is definitely one of the better mons from this gen in a fight, with great bulk, typing and moveset. Dude's def made a splash.

You can still make it really far with his standard moveset, but only if your catch came with the Thick Club… which mine luckily had. His main offensive, regardless of the STAB bonus should always be Bonebarang. And if you are like me and like the benfits of crits, Focus Energy is really good since it gives you a decent chance of one(or both) of the two hits to crit. And crits are really nice if you want a chance to ignore defensive buffs. The rest of the moves is completely up to you, but remember to it's not about the STAB but taking advantage of the ridiculous amount of ATK it gets from the Thick Club(it's a straight up x2 bonus). Mine used Brutal Swing since it's thematically fitting.
Also. The typing change is more to me... A defensive thing. Which makes sense since this form gets a defense buff moreso the other stats.

I'm not saying it is bad, it is definitely viable (at least in-game). So much that I actually had to take Thick Club away from mine so fights could be fun (was just OHKO everything in sight with it).
Thing is, the whole appeal of those regional forms is the new types. When you decide to use an Alolan Marowak in your team, you are interested in its Ghost and Fire moves. Except you can't use any of that because they are all (except for Flare Blitz - available only at level 53 anyways) impossible for Marowak to learn naturally, including even its new signature move!

Well my plan was to evolve him at lvl 37, that way he learns Crabhammer on level up and then learns Ice Hammer as soon as he evolves, but I've since found out that you can't get him to evolve until… practically until postgame, so I might just put him on indefinite hiatus :c
-

Oh… I suppose... I suppose that would work.
feeling stupid right now
ANYWAYS, finally got to the third island. This means time to train that Litten I was keeping in hold and finally evolving Fomantis. My team right now is:
-
Butterfree
-
Crabrawler
-
Ribombee
-
Mudsdale
-
Drampa
-
Lurantis
-
Marowak
-
Wimpod
-
Torracat
-
They are all lv30~31 except for Lurantis who I had to evolve before I would go crazy (Fomantis is. too. damn. weak!) and Wimpod (still at 29 because I am too attached to let it evolve...).
-
Since I decided to have a big rotating team instead of sticking with 6, maybe I will give a second chance to Dartrix. Maybe. Later. But probably not...
-
I wish we could turn off some of Poké Refresh effects, right now I feel like I am cheating in the fights with my Pokémon avoiding hits all the time, pulling critics, ignoring stats conditions. I actually managed to defeat Olivia's Probopass with Wimpod (almost 10 rounds and it only managed to connect two attacks - two Thunder Waves that were immediately undone also because of Refresh)!

I've been trying to find a Corsola for the last half hour, so I can chain it to get hidden ability Mareanie, but the first one I find is shiny and I have to catch it fml.

Save the game when you find a bubbling thingie (?). If it is not a Corsola, just reset and try again.

I'm going for the Melemele Sea one, and I just surf towards the beach and back, with max repels keeping everything else away. It's a lot faster than resetting, since the game takes a while to load, haha.
-
Wags, remember to not kill the corsola or youll lose the chain (you would notice right away as the meranie won't call for help).
