They've done it with Mr. Satan and Dan before.
True. Although I still argue that it's redundant compared to testing out a new opponent.

My first thought was the swordsman from soul eater.
He would carry like two dozen swords at at time, throw them all around the battlefield so he could swing let go and grab more in mid slash. I want to say his name was mifune.
Ezra is possible too.
I keep wondering, why Erza? Who is this chick?!

She's a swordswoman from Fairy Tail. One of the main characters. From what I've heard, often gets BS friendship power-ups to win battles. Look up "Zoro vs Erza" and you'll find a bunch of results.

She's from Fairy Tail? I've always thought about getting into the series since one of my friends loves it almost as much as I love One Piece nowadays. Then I forgot all about series after starting One Piece and HxH and Gintama and the rest. Friendship power-ups? What about it that makes it cheap? Sorry if I have so many questions, I've been told I live under a rock. Maybe I should start watching…

Woah, she has a lot of forms.

It's cheap because instead of winning through logically clever means or at least enduring lots of pain, the heroic character suddenly gets some sort of upgrade just because and beats the enemy in one or two hits with little difficulty. Whatever threat the villain originally posed suddenly vanishes because selfless good beats selfish evil no matter what, silly. Or at least, that's what I've heard.
Listen to Kage's warnings.
I just thought of King Bradley from FMA. Last time I checked he has like 6 swords or something.
Bradley's cool and superhuman. But Bradley vs Zoro is pretty much Heracles vs Toriko, if you remember that. I don't even think Bradley can make it past Arlong if he was in the One Piece world.

Really, that sounds boring. Warning heeded (partly because JonTron told me too, but I won't jump off a cliff :ninja:).
Goes back to waiting for Jinbei vs Kisame (or something) on Death Battle

Oh, and there's also lots of excessive fan service. Even by anime standards, and in tense situations. I believe that the series is in its final war arc right now and recently had a major character death. Yet two chapters ago, an enemy with the magical power to induce orgasms onto non-virgins has appeared. Take that as you will. That reminds me, lots of death fakeouts too. Enough to put Oda to shame, because at least Oda only does it with arc-exclusive side-characters and not main ones.
I feel like a certain fanbase will riot in 2 weeks.
And I do not want to be mine's.
I feel like Zoro's going to lose this Gaara versus Toph style.
Hey look on the bright side, if Zoro loses, then we can blame it on the fact that we haven't seen his best yet.:ninja:
I can see this ending in 2 ways.
1-Somehow, Zoro had show that he has more than enough to beat Erza, like they did it with Yang vs Tifa.
2-All the character's full potential have been predicted and they gonna throw various situations and check the probability like The Pokemon Battle Royale.
And also the third path, where they gonna go Goku vs Superman all over again with SSG.
good job to the guy that predicted erza
by the way, erza's gonna win since she has pretty much a bullshit armor for anything even if it doesn't make sense..yeah zoro is strong, but he has not seven thousand different powers based on what he cosplays
I see Zoro winning the next one. Zoro's got ridiculous strength, even without swords. His swords effectively can't be broken, and he can block other sword swings both with his Armament Haki. Even if he loses swords, or picks up one that's not his, he can still fight against foes. His moves are ultra fast, and I see the pinnacle of his strength so far fighting Pica, who he could cut in half in one move.
This is from someone who has never watched Fairytail, though.

Isn't the main strenght of those armors to counter different kinds of magic? Also, doesn't those cost magic to use it?
I know it'll never happen, but I'd love to see Psaro vs Sephiroth.
Great, let Zoro fight a character who pulls out broken OP armors out of her as… out of nowhere when it is needed, cause mashima doesn't care at all. That sure will be a good battle. xDDD
Could have at least waited till we actually see Zoros new abilities in Wano first.
Also, are there really no better opponents from other series to put up against Zoro, why the hell FT?
Guts would have been a great match. Also Zoro is a very poor choice for all the reasons we already know, and against Erza they may pull the same old: "___ can endure for a long time but inevitably will die" shenanigan which is annoying
It's hard to tell. Both are tough and skilled. Both are pretty different then anything they fought. With how versatile her magic is she has mobility and range. Brute force, and wild card of Haki to Zoro.
First thought, I was all Ezra, but I'm starting to lean to Zoro. Both tend to either tear people apart with ease, or take massive damage and then a all or nothing attack to win. But Zoro tends to fight people like him, just a level higher and win, Ezra opponents tend to hold her back and keep her from striking until the end. That might give him an advantage.

because there's beef between the fanbases and this makes more people open the video
pretty much the same situation than pokèmon vs digimon..yeah two rival fanbases, but the series operated on a diferent level in terms of power scale, pokèmon never had a chance
Mifune against Erza, I would understand. Looot of blades vs loooot of armours. That's seems like a fairly poor matchup in term of fighting style and I'm not sure Erza and Zoro are compared that often to make it thematically relevant. Some boring swordsman vs swordsman from popular anime. I hope the animation prove me wrong.

I would've gone with Inuyasha, personally.
Why does FT still have a strong fanbase?
Why does it have a fanbase at all?
Why does FT still have a strong fanbase?
Why does it have a fanbase at all?
because of the fan service I think?
seriously due, I know how zoro its strong and the fact that we don't know when we see him again its the best time for his death battle
as for erza I don't remember at all how strong she is beside magic and cosplay so I hope that zoro win
guess will have to wait to the end of the moth to find out…
Why does FT still have a strong fanbase?
Why does it have a fanbase at all?
Because they are people who enjoy it.
Death Battle posted the battle on their site for subscribers.
! Zoro zolos Erza. There truly is hope in humanity.
Damnit Count!
Stop taunting us!
I'm just glad that Luffy wasn't used this early. They probably decided to hold out on using One Piece's protagonist until the series is over like they promised, or at least until a few years later.
They should put up naruto against ichigo and let that shit show get out of hand in the comments in the most amusing way possible, cause nobody really cares about those two series anyway. :ninja:
And what they enjoy? The plot or the porn?
I don't think there's actual sex in Fairy tail so it's not porn.

I don't think this argument is worth having either way when the latest chapter had a villain whose magical ability is to cause orgasms get defeated.
There literally was tentacle rape…

Well, I already forget about those two series. No joke. I forgot that there were two series called Naruto and Bleach.

It's only a matter of time…
Saw the Zoro vs. Erza battle at my friend's house. The winner? Why it was none other than…
!
It has finally been uploaded to Youtube! Now everyone, it's finally time for a One Piece vs Fairy Tail DEATH BATTLE!!!!
I watched this with my heart beating like crazy…And it still is.
Too bad the match was kinda short and lacking.
the results was not the one i was expecting at all,
! and they got zoro's speed totally wrong
! don't know fairy tail that much to say if they made some kind of error with erza
Zoro can still outspeed a Merman on drugs underwater.
Zoro can still outspeed a Merman on drugs underwater.
yes but he can't move faster than the eye can see..not even close..in that scene at whiskey peak they just lose sight of him for a moment..zoro is nowhere near kizaru's speed, and he is the guy who was actually shown to move faster then the eye can see at sabaody
They forgot one crucial thing, though.
! Erza's erzaness.
! Even when sliced in half, she totally should have won because she's Erza.

Moving faster than the eye does not mean he's moving close to light-speed.
Zoro has dodged and reacted to bullets and close range cannon fire. He's also able to fight on par with CP9 members who move that fast casually.

When evaluating fictional battles, it's not wise to count speed as just one overall category. As ridiculous as it sounds, it should be split up into categories in itself between "travel speed", "attack speed", "reaction speed", "evasion speed", etc. Zoro is nowhere near as fast as Brook in terms of running speed. But in terms of how he both attacks and reacts, he easily overwhelms both him and Ryuma. Hence why being able to move faster than Hody (a Fishman) underwater while empowered by ES Pills is notable, like Kage said. In the realm of comics books in general, the skills of characters really tend to fluctuate depending on context rather than a specific general standard.
Pretty satisfied with the fight. Sure, they left out a few feats, but both series are crazy long, so I kind of expected that. Probably one of the better 2D fights Death Battle has done, imo.
! Also pretty glad Zoro won, though admittedly I'm pretty biased in that regard.
But…Deadpool again for the next one? That's...odd.
