Nice moves. It will probably not be the end of the fight, since we need to see the other side against the sister as well, but who knows. I really like this pillar guy. I hope he doesn't die too
Kimetsu no Yaiba

Interesting, I'll read this after I catch up with Fire Force.
-
Chapter 91 is out on batoto!
[hide]Dat teamwork from our 3 protagonists was incredible! Tanjirou and Zenitsu deflecting the sashes for Inosuke to just run through with his pig assault and his final double slash like a scissor. Honestly, I think I would never like this series if it wasn't for Inosuke. That guy is outstanding![/hide]
-
It’s been out for a while so spoiler tags aren’t necessary. It was a great chapter indeed. I shouldn’t have read 92 spoilers
-
Where does that cat from Tamayo comes from :-) i just read french volume 2 and that’s the one where she appears so it was nice to reread that part
All is well that ends well for this arc. Nezuko healing everyone is a bit easy but i would have been very sad if someone died. -
This Manga is really good and the action is just getting started.(spoilers*)In the latest Episode the 5 upper moon demon siblings are shown dead.
-
So what do you think of this villains cast ?
upper moon 5 looks really disturbingly creepy.
Number 1 is mysterious so we will have a big revelation about who he is.
Number 2 is funny, I wonder why number 3 hates himPS : I'm really bad with names, so I couldn't remember them though we learned them this chapter…
-
The villains are pretty generic (only 5 stands out) but I suppose most of them will have transformations and interesting abilities. The important thing is that the main cast needs a serious training arc, and hopefully we get shown more of this war motives in a not so distant future.
-
Upper moon 3 being a SMT3 reference gets me oh yeah
-
So chapter 100 was a gag chapter (even the cover :-)
Still the guy in the begining and the love pillar made me reread the pillar meeting chapters which were awesome ones. -
At this point, I think every Pillar they meet will either die or retire.
-
This chapter was friggin hilarious. Congrats on reaching 100 chapters, can't wait to see what we've got in store with the next pillar and the next arc :)
-
For the moment they are introduced in the same order as the pillar meeting, i wonder if it is just a coincidence
-
Tanjirou has awaken faster than Luffy !
Another extremely good chapter and some people question why it ranks great…. -
I didn't like the amount of narration in this chapter. It could have been replaced with Tanjirou's thought process during the whole thing. It reminded me of HxH a bit… Otherwise, a nice training chapter and probably some ancient blade passed on in Tanjirou's family in ancient times that will be nigh unbreakable and gifted to him next chapter.
-
Narration in hunter x hunter don’t make me laugh :-)

In fact I would have liked some explanation about what happened when he is about to die. I guess the massage could come from the ghosts of his family since it happened before but the stone which smells is more surprising and since it is the reason for his power up I suppose it would be better when explained. But so far there is little explanations about how the breaths work so I'm not sure we will get it.
-
Having 2 upper moons to fight at the same time sounds quite ambitious even with the help of pillars. I wonder if Genya "immortality" comes from the fact he is partially demon
Link to the korean scan of next chapter which looks great :

Anime adaptation for Kimetsu is officially announced now:
-
Lovely kitty shower, that’s a lovely attack name
-
Ufotable will do this series justice
And then it will peak, probably , certainly.
Goddamn this series need more recognition. It is way up in my list of what's enjoyable to read. -

But it's sure the fights animated can be beautiful.I don't know really.
I've watched the Fate series by ufotable and that's it.
They adapted some games which I assume is beautifully adapted but if they do want and they can make Kimetsu popular with that level of animation, it's a thing to look forward to.
The narrator jokes is fine, a lot of anime series do that. -
First episode of the anime is out.
The opening has higher budget than a dozen black clover episode. -
I'm reading this and I like it a lot so far (finished the train arc), but there's something I don't understand. Why did Nezuko become mute/feral after turning into a demon even though every other demon is capable of speech and is mostly rational aside from their cruelty? Did I miss something, or is that just a mystery I'm supposed to wait for an answer to?

you need to be patient :-)
Glad you like it and I hope the anime will bring more people to love this great title -

I don't think it was ever explicitly stated but my closest guess that seems plausible is cause Nezuko never ate a human. I feel like I remember that there was something about demons growing stronger by consuming a lot of humans. So it might be a bit of a similar deal to the Promised Neverland demons.

A little late but here we go,
Reminds me a lot of Fate endings.
Unlimited Budget Work (Perhaps Tax evasion) at it again.Lurk around various subreddits and forums and people have been mentioning how Kimetsu is this "generic" shounen manga that hits all the notes right.
While I agree with that, I feel like a lot of people overlook the author's ability to write fight scenes, monologues and great tension.
Not to mention Tanjiro is one of the most likable shounen mc in recent years.
I don't get why ap or the eastern side of the web don't discuss much about Kimetsu but this manga stands high in the magazine for a good reason. This might be the last arc and it's pretty sad if it's the case. Kimetsu is one manga I really wish to run longer(hopefully it will, without feeling like it is pandering).
-
I really wish to post but since I was the only one for quite some time. I donlt bother anymore
-
(Still catching up, please don't spoil outside of tags) Holy crap I think that fight against Daki and Gyuutaro was one of the best I've read in any manga. It was incredibly varied and had a great back and forth. It must have been a pain reading it chapter-by-chapter though since it felt like every other chapter was going to be the climax.

This manga keeps getting better and better
-
The fights are really intense in Kimetsu. We don't know much about the different dance styles but it does not matter. The fights are really great and there is not to much asspull for the heroes to win so they are really well balanced.
I dont remember what I felt during that particular fight but it has never been a pain for me to read it weekly. Between the funny scens of the transition arcs, the awesomeness of the battle ones. Even the trainings arc are not boring -
Caught up a couple of days ago. Great stuff.
General series thoughts:
! I think KnY might have one of my favorite main casts in any shonen. Usually there's at least one character who I'm just "meh" about, but Tanjiro, Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Nezuko are all good. Inosuke and Zenitsu are my favorites because of how funny they are, but I appreciate Tanjiro a lot. It's hard to make a main character with kindness as one of their defining traits interesting, but I think the author pulled it off while avoiding most of the pitfalls associated with it. Nezuko is probably the weakest link out of the 4, but that's mostly just because she's mute 95% of the time. Whenever she gets a chance to shine, she's great.
! As for other characters, I really like the Sound, Insect, and Love pillars. Genya is good too, I thought he was going to be some Bakugo-esque rage character, but he turned out to be a pretty decent guy.
! I love the fights in this manga. With a couple of exceptions they're very intense, and just when it looks like the protagonists have won, there's another setback any they have to try again. That sounds like a fairly typical thing, but I feel like KnY commits to this way more than the average shonen.
! As for my problems with the series, not much in the long term, but there are some individual story beats that bothered me.
-It's weird to me that the first time we see Muzan he's with a human wife and daughter, but after that we never see them again. I feel like this was a dropped plotpoint, but I'd like to be wrong.
-Rengoku's death wasn't as hard hitting to me as the author clearly intended, so every time we get a callback to him I get pulled out of the story just a little.
-Upper Moon 5 was a bit of anticlimax. All of the other Upper Moons so far have taken a lot of teamwork to beat, but he just gets beaten by the Mist pillar almost entirely on his own.Current arc:
! Wasn't a fan of Zenitsu's fight. Giving him a rival so suddenly (even if it had some setup) and then casually disposing of him doesn't sit well with me. The choreography felt lacking too. I really hope this isn't supposed to be Zenitsu's last big showing in the series.
! Other than that, It's been really good. The boss blowing himself up to get to Muzan was great, and so is the current fight with Akaza (who flashback was pretty good too). Also like that characters are dying, it makes for good stakes. -
Yeah that Zenitsu fight came out of nowhere.
Glad you caught up. Regarding! Rengoku's death felt more like a shock than something emotional because I didn't think he would die, die. It's a good trigger but you're right that it could have written up to a more emotional impact. But it still felt impactful to me because of it's post-arc,what with his family and Tanjirou monologues.
I felt like at that point in the time, Upper Moon 5 pales in comparison to the stronger 4 and 3. Keep in mind that we had an entire arc against 6 with a time period that was much earlier than the encounter with 5. It's not that I'm saying there shouldn't be a longer fight for him but all things considered his threat to Tanjirou and friends were significantly lesser at that point of the story. It's understandable but yeah there could had been a better way to kill him off. Although the Mist Pillar could be on the stronger side for all we know.
! Yeah I feel like the author isn't really going for a Chimera arc situation here with Muzan. The family he had was more likely just a mask or a tool for him to avoid detection. Maybe it will come back later or his true feelings about them shown when he's about to die in a very Kimetsuesque method.
! Kimetsu does a good job with the cast because they are all so straight-forward and doesn't try to act cool or drop edgey one liners. You genuinely feel they are characters just trying their hardest in this shitty world they are in.
The author constantly shows them grinding the hard work necessary and make sure that when they do speak, it offers a peak into their characters. Of course, I'm not saying they are written with depth in mindbut I guess the word I'm looking for here is ingenuity. Usually long ass monologues feel like exposition that the author can't express through images and go on and on but most of Kimetsu hits a certain note and relates so that's a shining quality. This could largely be due to the fact that the setting for the story is absolute despair but the main cast are all hopeful individuals without feeling too fairytailesque or stupid optimistic-like.
! Current arc: I feel like the author is trying to draw a parallel with Akaza and Tanjirou here. It's great so far and does no one ever get to catch a break in that period of Japan. -
So it seems the anime is a big success, the manga sales are rising and even the French editor has decided to manifest himself after more than a year of no news. But this thread is as dead as ever.
Anyway this fight against number 2 was really great. So much emotions. And the team fight was also great. When Inosuke gives the last push to cut the demon neck that was such an intense moment. And after that we have a rest chapter with so many feelings in it. This title really deserves more love
-
I agree Kdom, I binge read this weekend and this series is really great.

Also I wonder who of the pillars is taking down 1st upper moon. That guy has some serious strong vibe going on and after seeing what Doma and Akaza where able to do. Will there be anyone left 100% to finish Muzan?

Fantastic ! Now that you are here, this thread will have at least one post a week !
Did the anime made you read the manga ?

Actually I haven’t seen the anime yet, I saw a few shots and it looked really well done. So i decided to give a shot a read it.

Nice to have another member reading Yaiba!
The fight with the 2nd upper was fun but a little predictable. The guy is an outright psychopath.
Good emotional ending with Kanao. I really did liked Shinobu though.
I was expecting an expanded flashback with the 2nd upper and Inosuke mom but I guess he never did develop sentimentality for her.
With the 1st upper moon still in the play, I seriously doubt there is any firepower left for Muzan. -
I discovered this a couple weeks back myself, (well, re-discovered it since I knew it when it first started), and it has come out splendidly.
Thank the fucking GOD the 2nd Moon finally died, those are the worst types of psychopaths.
-
! Spatial manipulation is a bitch to fight against. And enter upper moon one.
-
A chapter with love pillar can only be a good chapter. And is it the'time where we learn about Snake pillar which have said much until now.
-
Well it sucks to wait but we got the best quality scans possible and the best translation.
Nice to see what Snake boy can do. -
And we thought Upper Moon 2 was annoying.
-
Just here to say that I became a fan the moment I saw the first anime episode. The story, the characters and the pacing are fantastic.
But the icing on the cake are the fluid animations, the overall pleasing visuals, the great soundtrack and those damn nice tracking shots.
I'm on ep. 10 or 11? right now and it keeps getting better. (I think the fact that the show reminds me of the InuYasha anime helps alot.)
For now I'm anime only, let's see if I can endure this the whole 24 episodes :D
-
! So breath of the Moon…Upper Moon 1 was a Sun Bro and Muichiro and Tanjiro are probably descendants from the original bros.

Michikatsu Tsugikuni makes Doma looks like a looser. -
I knew a one on one was not gonna be easy but not so desperate. I don't think anybody can help soon. Things are going to be tough
-
I finally figured out where those funny masks the swordsmiths wear come from:
https://traditionalkyoto.com/culture/figures/hyottoko/ It's appropriate now, not just funny.https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/viewer/1003146
Michikatsu Tsugikuni makes Doma looks like a looser.Ouch. That's all I can say, ouch.
-
Now this is how you do power levels and a sense of impending threat that emanates pure despair.
Show don't tell, instantly cutting off the hero's hand without care.
It works here because there's hardly any bullshit wins in this series and true consequences do occur. -
The raw for chapter 166… WOW!!!
