Chapter 424 "Escape Ship" Discussion
-
-
according to http://rsf.mangas-fr.com/Ritual.htm One Piece is going to be on the cover of Shonen Jump #41 and it gets a color page too. So #426 is going to have a color page.
Can we assume that "someone" will be asked to join the crew in 425/426 then maybe?
-
Well, we can assume something big happenms, anyway. This arc is really convoluted. And there's still buster call.
Gopd, CANNOT WAIT for chapter 425
-
I don't suspect more than the conclusion of the fight for 426, but i've been waiting over a year to see Luffy put an end to Lucci, so i'm ecstactic ^_^
Plus, i've thought the last 2 chapters were a bit slow imho…
anyways, i'm anxiously await 425 & 426. -
If he slaughters an entire village then it'd definitely be picked up by the marines.
If he kills everyone, there's no one to left to report the slaughter.
As for Arlong, he's in prison right now, how can he take revenge? I don't see any plot involving Arlong escaping in the future.
He do not know that. We also do not know exactly how strong a "monster among Fishmen" Arlong is; unless his cage is made of Kairoseki, it seems fairly easy for him to escape, and that's assuming he can't break Kairoseki.

Well, we know that a lot of Marine cages ARE made of it, as said Smoker back in Alabasta.
And I severely, SEVERELY doubt Arlong could hope to break it. I mean, Zoro can't even cut the stuff at this point… and I doubt Arlong can break what Zoro can't cut.

And no one would notice? Islands aren't hard to reach in the Blue it seems, and dozens of dead bodies would be easy to notice. The marines have to have some way to keep track of crimes, and Kuro only needs to commit one to get trapped in his old life again. In fact, any sign that he's alive and he's trapped back in his old life.
I forget, was the marine squad that attacked Arlong park from the Grandline or marine headquarters? How did they know about what was happening at Arlong park, didn't someone call them?

It would just be incompetant if the marines didn't have suitable prisons. They have kairoseki cages for devil fruit users don't they? But steel should be enough, don't forget that steel is considered strong is one piece. Cover his arms and mouth and you got him. Plus, we'd hear about it in the story if Arlong escaped.
Hey, hopefully these cover stories will cover these things.
-
I don't mean to be sarcastic, I'm genuinely inquiring but why does a color page mean the end of the arc?
-
Arlong's escape would be pointless. He'd go to Gyojin Island and Jimbei would promptly kill him for losing to a human.
Since Gyojin are fairly rare in Odaverse, I'm guessing that Gyojin Island is a large underwater city-island with only part of it above water. Just like Crocodile was "The hero of Alabasta", I'm guessing Jimbei is "The hero of the Gyojin". Perhaps the leader of Gyojin island is Jimbei himself or Jimbei's brother, which would allow Jimbei psuedo-control over the Gyojiin community. All Blue could even exist around Gyojin, by having underwater tunnels go underneath the calm belt and funneling water from all the oceans (and therefore wildlife) and collecting it in a lake or mini-sea around the island. It would be underwater, which would explain why Zeff never found it.

I like a lot of things about this idea, but it's hard to say how much of this will unfold. It sounds interesting though, and I hope we get something at least as cool as that

speaking of the new chapter, when do the spoilers usually come out? tommorrow?
on to discussion: I think it would be pretty logical for Jimbei to be like a hero to the Fishpeople/mermen of Gyujin Island
-
Yeah, the spoiler should be out by tomorrow. Which I will ignore.
It's been nice that we've gotten full, HQ chapters early on Thurs. the last couple of weeks, I hope the trend continues. This week has felt long for some reason. -
Why does everyone always think that Dragon is going to show up when there is a storm!!??
Think about this logically people. Dragon saved Luffy ONCE and that was nearly 300 chapters ago! Plus we didn't know if he actually saved Luffy or not it's just everyones speculation. Second, Dragon isn't stalking the Straw Hat crew around or anything like that. Third, Dragon is a WANTED MAN. He would have no reason to even get close to a marine base (and for those who are going to argue that Luffy has a bounty and still went-he was trying to save his nakama-I'm pretty sure that Dragon wouldn't think of the pirate crew as his 'nakama').
My theory is that the storm will be exactly like what happened in Logue Town. After destroying Enies Lobby the marines will come to attack the pirates but the storm will help them get away. Sorry to crush all your dreams Dragon fans, but if Dragon did come I would be very disappointed in Oda (even though I'm sure he would make it awesome in some way).
Hopefully none of this has been said already….
-
I seem not to remember Dragon saving Luffy. Although he is pretty good with poets I assume, so he could come by and read one of those Roger things again.

Dragon DID save Luffy, that much is known. Not from being executed, but from Smoker. That much we know. The lightning strike, we don't know. Unless he ate the Chou Chou or Jinkosu-Jinkosu no Mi or something, the cause of the lightning strike is unknown. Nami sensed the storm coming, so it wasn't like it came outta nowhere. Suto (storm without the mu) suto no Mi is another possiblity. The only move we actually SAW Dragon do was "Wind Blast", meaning he has some sort of control over the wind. He was also able to grab smoker's truncheon and stop Smoker from striking Luffy. If this means smoker was genuinely afraid of Dragon, or that Dragon has the weakness to Smoker's power, we don't know.
Smoker hasn't appeared since chapter 100, that's 325 chapters ago. He was mentioned again after the Drum Arc, which was what, Chapter 150 or so?
Yes, Dragon has a part to play. But I seriously doubt he'll show up here. He'll show up when it's completely unexpected.

Actually, the MARINES are yelling "Wind Blast." We still have no idea if dragon did that or not.
-
Also, Smoker appeared around 200, after the Alabasta fight during all the cleanup in the aftermath.

Uhm, you mean "again" right? because the encounter with dragon was DEFINITELY in rougetown
-
Well yes. "Fire Fist" Ace made it sound like that it was just after the Drum Arc when he was last seen, and I was saying that it was in fact after the Alabasta fights that he was last seen.
-
Actually Aokiji did mention Smoker after fighting Ruffy. And Ruffy was frozen:blink:
