Holy shit was this awful.
We've come to the point where Bach is pretty much unbeatable, so he proceeds to pretty much beat the living tar out of Ichigo, mocking him and us with a "all those times you were able to overcome despair was because I wasn't there hurr hurr i'm so arrogantly powerful" BS.
Meanwhile, Uryu is in bad shape. It seems Haschwald's power is Balance, which allows him to essentially redirect damage…..I'm not quite how maintaining it between him, a living being and a goddamn inanimate shield is logical but whatever, and I think "misfortune" is an ill-fitting term, maybe the translation is wonky.
Then Uryu's like "my power can reverse damage". That's incredibly convenient and uber hax, but hey, it's a way to win this battle???
Until Haschwald's like "my power can rebalance that process", which is even more convenient and takes the wind out of Uryu's sails in two pages. This is what happens when you have two abstract OP powers kids, the author gets to keep changing the rules for convenience.
Then finally we cut back to Ichigo, who has pretty much lost completely (all that time training sure amounted to something!) and Orihime has been offpaneled. (all those resolve panels sure amounted to something!).
He goes limp, Bach mocks him more like the unlikable cunt he is, and he reaches in to grab his power…..when you think about it, it's only for arrogance/boasting purposes because he literally does not need anything else to win.
What....now? Again, don't know what is taking Ryuken and Isshin so long to save their sons other than cheap tension. Rukia/Renji/etc. would be beyond useless, and I'm starting to think Kubo has pulled a Kishi (with Madara) and made his villain too powerful.
fuck these battles.
