Speaking about the Naruto dub, I was really suprised about yesterdays episode. They kelp so much blood, basically all of it! Throughout the whole episode, I was like, "OMG… They really kept that?!". They really must be pushing they're PG limit.
Sorry to get off topic, but man, if only the One Piece dub could be as good as the Naruto dub. :sad:
Actually, Naruto's dub is what I like to call "Light PG" (you can actually get away with more at PG) but Viz keeps it sufficent enough.
Sucks it couldn't be One Piece, though.
Yea I agree with you Blue Pirate, the episode was a violent and bloody. To be honest I'm surprised that alot of the actual contact images were kept in the fight, women hitting not a good thing to show to kids.

4Kids knew that One Piece was very popular, and that the whole pirate theme would appel to the kids. They were going to take Naruto, but they probably didn't want another show like One Piece where they had to make alot of edits.
If they want money why don't they dub Hamtaro and other kid anime.
That is why Pokemon was so popular; it has no real violence and stuff even in the original version.
Sadly, the success of Yu-gi-oh is what got them interested in other "Shonen Jump" properties.

There arn't that many popular animes for kids that are left to dub. Hamtaro was all ready taken, but I forgot which company dubed it.

Well, this should proboally go to the RAW thread. 
But I don't see what's wrong with the Naruto dub. Sure, it's not the BEST dub, but it's good.
It could have to deal with the fact that I'm so used to the Raw voices instead of the dubbing, but I still find it atrocious how out-of-character and forced a lot of them sound.

One Piece, which was failing in the 4kidsTV block, and Inuyasha, which was a mainstay on Adult Swim. The rights get granted to Viz, and the tale of our little orange-clad ninja coming to America begins….
This was only rumor, but it wouldn't suprise me if this was truthfully the case.
Meh, the Naruto dub is fine to me so far. The Japanese voices are better, and like Roman said, it's not the greatest dub, but compared to the One Piece dub, it's MUCH better, and at least Naruto hasn't cut episodes, has the original score and doesn't have rubber knives and poison suction cups.

The only quelms I really have with the Naruto dub is that some of the characters voices sound too alike to each other. But other than that, it's highly enjoyable.
I only wish One Piece got it's minimal censorship and pretty good cast. And original BGM, of course.
Not to mention Naruto got those sweet uncut boxset dvd's.

Naruto fans are just like us when it comes to the dub, they hate it. Im sure it will be the same for the Bleach fanatics, they will have every way to critisize it, somehow.
If it wasnt for the editting, and the alteration of the original script, the dub would be fine. I dont even mind most of the voices (aside from sanji and Ms. Merryxmas ) hell I like Mr.2s voice more then the original sometimes…
The english language does alot more then the japanese language does for me, at least the English language can pull off regional accents, like voices like dub Robin, are amazing. A slight southern accent, to match her looks, but other then that, its good.
If Naruto got 4Kids treatment then it would have rubber kunai, with Naruto stabbing his hand, he would be scratching it.

Most anime fans love Japanese references. It's a matter of whether they want to target anime fans or kids in general (as 4kids do)

Anyway, I'm a huge Bleach fan, but I'm going to try and be reasonable when deciding how good I think the dub is. I think One Piece taught me that.

I was kind of surprised they left the riceball in, but then, I don't know what else they would change it to that would make sense. Also, I think that they decided that the average toonami audience, sandwiched between bobobo and naruto, probably knows what a riceball is.

But that can't be how it works because FUNimation had picked up the license for the anime adatptation of Black Cat a while ago. (Due out in Christmas BTW)

They just go for them more, now. Funi is more interested in mature/niche titles these days, while 4Kids wants to do their own stuff now.

If next week they continue airing 2 episodes, we'll be back where we were left at sometime in late September late October I would think…..
I would assume that once they rerun the Mr. Prince episode they'll follow that with new episodes (altho who's to say really)

As much as I hated 4kids' crappy edits before… Wow! I think dub Mr 3 has been the only character to leave me speechless in horrified disbelief/disgust, hehe. Is it just me or is this all just getting worse? Keep them coming. XD

That was my first thought too…"Wait, wouldn't he not be able to cut it yet?" Also, considering that Kairouseki (sp?) is harder to break than diamond, there is pretty much no way he could cut it anyway... >.>;;
And wow, Mr. 3's dub voice is pretty craptacular (my first time hearing it). I didn't laugh at the "kiwi" joke, but I did get some amusement out of Sanji asking the crocs "Who wants to be a purse or a wallet?"
