That's a thing I don't like much of the end of the tourney. The author developed three different stories that supposedly could have a happy end with the price of the tourney: Matrona's kid, Diane learns the dance of the hearth (or something like that) that only Dolors masters, and Gowther earns a heart. To me, the most logical rival for Dolor was Diane: both are giants and supposedly she still has to learn the powers Dolor masters. And the idea that she's going to master those powers agains another rival,left you wondering about how would have been if Dolor faces Diane at their top levels? And Diane winning the tourney would have solved also the problem to heal Matrona's kid. (Maybe Elizabeth will do it). But still, it's possible Dolor stands up now; anyhow that seems to be much better than he-resurrects-to-finally-face-Diane scene.
It could be a fair way to have Diane take care of business without having to yell BS because of power levels. Elizabeth probably can heal the kid. Gowther's luck just suck.

That thing was hanging on his wall for seven years and he had urgent deliveries to make. I doubt the sword would return to the goddess on his own if it didn't mind 7 years on the wall. Also I'm pretty sure the goddness are sealed or semi-dead, which is why they have to use an horn to talk.

I probably missed something because I rushed through the last chapters, but why would be tournament be over? Gloxinia is clearly alive in the last panel and we saw he could effortlessly heal and even resurrect a nearly dead person, so he shouldn't have problems putting himself and Dolor back from that.
Because they kinda almost got killed by that Escanor. I doubt even if they could restore themselves they are just going to ignore the whole matter.
Btw, I was just following the manga through comments but decided to catch up because, well, Gowther <3 kinda sad that he lost (I mean, that doesn't count as a victory except by the tournament rules), I hope at least he will not have a change of heart (ha!) just because Escanor didn't went after his head - although I accept that planting a seed on himEscanor was after the commandments. I doubt you can lost if there was no fight to begin with.

There's an usual unjustified power up when the hero comes to the decisive fight with less power than the villain. I think we judge the result for the effects of the new power level more than for its source.

I liked the Mjolnir touch they added to the Divine Axe Rhitta. Since Escanor reverts to a shell of himself at night, and that not many can lift let alone wield it, he likely just has to leave it in place. Being able to summon Rhitta is the only thing that would make practical sense.
I want to know more about how Rhitta works. Does it store energy passively over time? If so, is there a limit to the amount of energy stored at the time, and does Escanor have to release all of the stored energy at once? It looked like Rhitta was 'charging' from Escanor at that moment, but I'm going to guess that it also used previously stored energy for such a powerful attack otherwise it'd be pretty broken under normal (daylight) circumstances.
Every time I read the chapter and see Gowther demanding his glasses back I can't help but think of Velma from Scooby Doo.

Not too happy about Meliodas beating up even more of the Commandments. However cliched it might have been, I did want Diane and King to beat their respective evil counterparts.

To me it's the contrary. The (shounen)annoying cliche was the tourney, a tourney that didn't make much sense in a context in which the demons are free to do what they want. Ok, they have no much power, so they used the tourney to colect some power (different strategy than the other commnadments). It's perfect for them. But why to wait to let them get that power they need? Why if you can attack them and win directly? Meliodas explain it in this chapter: even in their condition, Dolor and Gloxinia were too much of a rival for him. So the main line remains consistent, imo: "A tourney now to given them power? Fuck it, lets erase this laberynth(what Mel and Ban did), and take advantage of Escanor's common sense(previos chapter) and good hit and smash them while we can (current ch)…"

Sure it would be nice if Kind and Diane take the lead in beating Gloxinia and Dolor. That still could happen. The problem there is the power gap. But I suppose is not much of a problem for a motivated shounen hero. Maybe, Escanor and Mel punches soften the commandments so that Diane, Matrona and King can do something.
I was kinda expecting Matrona and the other participants to actually protect Dolor. I mean, Meliodas' group is the only one trying to defeat the commandments, all the others in there took part in the festival so they could have their wishes granted, so they should want Dolor and Gloxinia to be safe.
It would be nice to see King & Diane fighting their evil counterparts but to me is even nicer to see Mel taking the threat serious, afer all the guy has been fooling around in his fights since the beginig.
What I think will happen is Mel kills both Gloxin and Dolor but they get revived by a returning Merascylla..
I have to love Meliodas just cutting the reminding 2 hands once Dolor threaten him.
It may sound unimportant but I love the commandments pairing. The only ones I won't be able to like are probably Zeldris and Estrossa.
Gloxiana is more resistant than I expected. She's much better physically than King.
Meliodas turned into a pretty boy.
Finally some sense has returned to this manga. Demons are above Pixies in the hegemony.
What a missed oportunity to hear Dolor saying "It's only a flesh wound"
I like that Meliodas went with the "kill you before you can kill them" logic, but it was kinda ruined when he chose to kick Dolor's face instead of simply cutting it off like he did with the arms.
This chapter just makes me hate the Meliodas + Ban and the ELizabeth + Elaine fights even more. If the tournament was going to be defunct have way through anyway why show us these boring matches when you've introduced a bunch of other characters who we've never seen before. Meliodas taking advantage of Escanor's attack now though is pretty good, I just hate the previous chapters more in retrospect.

Yes, I'm intrigued for that too. What "way" Meliodas is talking about? Who betrayed Gloxinia? Who crushed Dolor's pride? and why, after being betrayed or hurt they decided to join the Demon King forces? … .... Did I have talked about the theory that the goddesses are not good but evil? ... Anyway, Meliodas is in the middle: not with the goddesses, who want to kill him, not with the demon king, whose soldiers he's killing.
I like the fact that the power gap had a decent solution: there is a power gap, and right now the only one at the level of the commandments is Meliodas (and proud Escanor's).

I was expecting the ten commandments were the major warriors of the "dark" side. But, given that they are being wiped out rather easily, and since we haven't seen the demon king yet, there's a chance he will come (if it happens) with some new commandments.
Since the commandments are falling like flies I hope the real bad guys of the story are the goddess clan and not the demons
