Marineford recaps are next season
Scared me for a second; looked it up and found that the recap is only two episodes, though. So no big deal.

they should of just included the recaps in this set of episodes and now that i heard Ivankov for myself, the VA is PERFECT and is slaying the role
So the cover of voyage 6 has been revealed. It looks pretty good though I can't get that good of a look of it.

Sorry about the small resolution, I had to work with the banner on FUNi's site for the OPP article, since they're the only one with the cover. Will try to update it with a HQ version once it's available.
Zooming it didn't help much…
!
I love it, it really looks good.
Sweet. That looks great. Wish it would come out sooner. Funimation is already charging me for it, strangely enough. I assume they don't charge when they ship, eh?
So I've been rewatching Water 7 and noticed Iceberg tends to say "In other words" a lot in the dub. Was that just their way of translating some Japanese-speficic speech pattern of his?
ok so I totally forgot that Shiryu first shows up in this new set and I have to say that his voice is also really good as well. I truly am quite happy with how they did this set.
Poor funimation is promoting voyage 6 on the one piece page and the hate is ridiculous:/

Basically just hating on the english dub voices, how the sub is better and there shouldn't be an english dub.
OMG i hate sub weaboos like them, if they don't like hearing things in their native tongues than dont watch the videos
Season 7, Voyage 5 is great. Really like the voice for Iva. The commentary for episode 442 is one of the best commentary for the series.
Cooking with Sanji. Easily one of the most enjoyable and original extras to date.
What's weird to me about the Voyage 6 cover is that the new FUNi logo isn't on it.
they will start changing it for the february releases cuz thats when funimationNOW will open.
Really digging the cover!^^
i am still miffed we are getting less episodes in this Voyage, they should have included the two fillers
That cover is nasty. It'a a shame we got to wait until April for more dubbed episodes. Id just like to give a shout out to Randy Pearlman, he did an excellent job with Ivankov. Talented guy, i was satisfied with his performance.
Great to hear that everyone loves Iva. I'm rationing these hardcore. Won't hear him for another month or two.
The cover is great, though it's always a little weird when there are so many characters of differing sizes.
And the two filled episodes are no big deal. We've had larger filler arcs and the wines lobby recaps. 10 episodes on the set with those two as bonus is just fine.

No you didn't understand Zephray, the two fillers are being omitted from the upcoming set and will instead be included with the marineford episodes

The filler episodes are set at Marineford, right? So it wouldn't really make sense to have them with the impel down season.
I give you welcome to Impel Down level 5.5, BITCHES!
This is something i always wondered, that scene when Luffy is recovering from Ivankov hormones and he has a brief flashback of him and Ace s kids, was that created by the animators because their child forms looked nothing like that

Ha, I was wondering that too, saw that episode last night. I forgot it was actually in the show, anytime I've seen it online I had always thought it was fanart.

Yes i remember seeing the picture on here before and i had thought it was fanart until i came across it when watching Impel Down
What episode was this again? I vaguely remember and I'm pretty sure it was an anime addition, they teased quite a few flashback scenes way before we truly saw anything in the source material.

it was at the end of episode 439

I thought it was going to be a joke, like Eric Vale sucks at cooking, but his dishes actually looked pretty damn good.
Regarding the haters on the dub, just ignore them. They always come out of the wood works. People have the right to enjoy the series in either format and even though I love the original and don't always agree with all the choices the dub cast makes, I also found some choices superior to the original. Experiencing both versions makes the series fresh. For instance, rewatching old arcs with the dub feels like I'm seeing the series again for the first time, which allows me to experience the excitement and anticipation all over again because there's always new dub voices to look forward to and new takes on the characters. People can choose not to like the dub, but once they start saying things like the dub shouldn't exist, it crosses into extremely selfish and disgusting territory.
Oh yeah, speaking of Iva's BITCHES line, since when were they allowed to use that word in the dub? Has it every been used before now? And what I don't get is why they can't use shit (according to the commentary). It's not like shit's even that bad a word at all compared to some of the other language the dub uses.
Totally agree ^^
Cool ad at animenewsnetwork.com for voyage 5.

yea they have used bitch before. Nami said it to Kalifa during the enies Lobby arc. Kalifa was talking about how beautiful she was and nami responded by saying "woah, what a bitch"
There was also that part way back at Arlong Park when the fishman Sanji was fighting against said something like ''I'll take care of that BITCH Nami too''
Question, don't have the set yet.
How did FUNimation handle the "Newkama" pun?

How did FUNimation handle the "Newkama" pun?
Which pun? They use Newkama in the dub.
Ah… weird that they wouldn't try to translate it... then again, it is a VERY heavy pun...
New Half* + Okama = Newkama = Newcomer
*Slang Term used in Japan to refer to pre-op transgender women…. that's kindof offensive when you think about it... I wonder if the person who coined it new English....
Buggy's crew called Nami that word in the dub, when she stole their ship. Then again they did use shit a couple times in the dub.
I know it's already been said, but Dandy Pearlman performance as Ivankov is amazing.

Also the commentary for episode 442 is possibly one of the funniest ones Funimation has done. Dam it I love Jeremy Inman and his filthy mouth. lol
Apparently, "shit" isn't allowed on airwaves, but "bitch" and "bastard" are. So funimation, knowing that these episodes will air on tv, tries to avoid using the word "shit" so that they don't have to redub for television.
Since the subject has come.up, there's something I've wondered about something Mr. 3 said way back in Little Garden. When Luffy comments about his hair being on fire (I beleive its then), I could swear he says, "f*ck you!" If that's not what he's saying, what is it, then?

Adult Swim doesn't censor out "shit" from any of the shows on Toonami. But the dub has gotten by fine without using it and it kinda wouldn't fit the appeal of the show in general.

You'd have to prove that to me. There might be allowances at certain times of night, but it's always been that "shit" isn't allowed on television. Which is definitely strange, considering that bitch/bastard are fair game.
That's changed within the past couple of years on Adult Swim in general at least. I remember being surprised to witness Boondocks season 4 premieres having shit uncensored back in 2014. Of course, this is way after hearing shit bleeped in stuff like Deadman Wonderland and whatnot.

I've been watching Toonami every week for the past few years and have heard "shit" verbally spoken on shows like Akame Ga Kill, Mitchiko and Hatchin, and Black Lagoon.

The word "shit" is also said on South Park all the time these days, whereas ten years ago it was beeped out all the time.
The word I guess has just become more common place these days.
Cable in general has loosened up on language in the last 10 years. "Shit" flies on most networks like Comedy Central, Adult Swim, FX, USA, TBS, etc. past 9 PM. (Keep in mind that cable isn't regulated by the FCC and channels can actually do whatever they want. The channels impose censorship themselves because they're still driven by ad-revenue and need to be clean enough for sponsors.)
Hell, on Network TV (ABC, NBC, Fox, CBS) you can say "dick" now as long as it's an insult and not slang for penis. That used to be unimaginable.

Lmao Black Lagoon is vulgar as all hell. Good stuff though.

Broadcast/Network television has loosened to allow "penis" and other textbook terms for genitals, but is generally still under very strict FCC rules otherwise that in some ways get more strict with the times in recent years (such as no longer allowing the word "retarded"). Though I think it sometimes depends on whether the FCC has the hatchet out for a particular show.
I also found it weird that FUNi censored "shit" out of the commentary track on this set. It's been used twice in the show, and the sets are still rated TV-14.
