As a Rarity fan I'm very pleased with the latest episodes. I also liked the animation quality. It's getting better and better.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (9th & Final Season Airing Now)
-
-
i like rarity too, but it's not the rarity show. I was kinda sad twilight didn't come. I wanted to see her.
-
Three Rarity episodes in a row is a bit much. I know its been a while since she had a focus but these could have been spread through the season a little better.
-
Wow. I was really impressed with the Friendship Games movie.
! The best part was Sunset Shimmer going Super Saiyan on Evil Twilight. The songs were also really good.
As for Made in Manehatten,
! I'm glad Coco Pommel returned. It was nice episode and I liked the moral they were trying to get across.

So was I! :)
! Especially with that ending with Pony Twilight seeing Human Twilight. EQ4 confirmed! :D

I have a feeling that this will pay off in some way when we get to the finale.
They've shown us Twilight's frustration at not going on missions several times now, so maybe it will lead to something. -

. . . . . . . I don't see anything that remotely related to Sea Ponies.
That Season 4 trailer lied.
-
I don't recall the trailer saying anything about Sea Ponies. I think it was just generic "new adventures" and a shot of the map and you hoped for it from there.
-

One of the writers teased that we will "finally" see cut to transmission failure. Everybody has been hoping that meant sea ponies. I think we have been trolled again.
-
If they didn't actually say Sea Ponies, then that's just you throwing your own hopes onto it. It could have just as easily been "The CMC get their marks" or "Big Mac sing on his own" or "Twilight get to go on another map quest."
A tease is just a tease when its that vague.
-
i don't know why they haven't bought into the sea ponies. that's like a whole nother toy line for hasbro! they did the whole flutter ponies thing. (sort of)
-
Because they had to push royal wedding, and then sparkly crystal ponies, and then rainbow super form Mane 6, and new Twilight castle toys first before they do a spinoff line of sea horses.
-
! And Applejack's mother remains dead.
-
sea pony hater >_>

Damn. I gotta make sure I wake up for this one.

!
-
Damn, you guys are making me really curious about what's under that tag.
But alas, I have to hold my nerve and wait until I do my blind reaction video.Looking forward to it even more now though.
-
! Well, I better stay off tumblr when that airs.
! Or stay and watch the potential drama unfold. That could be fun. -
New episode was good
! Played out about as you'd expect, but I'm glad we got to hear more from Big Mac during his emotional moment.
On another note, I'd like to mention that I just finished watching an MLP fan project called Turnabout Storm, which is a crossover between My Little Pony and Phoenix Wright. And, honestly, I think it was really darn good. It's a perfect love letter to both franchises and, although there are some spelling errors, the audio-mixing could be better, and the voice-acting is sometimes lacking, whoever wrote it really gets both series, both in how their respective worlds work and the characters' personalities, and meshes them perfectly. In fact, there were one or two scenes towards the end that nearly moved me to tears. Now, a few things to keep in mind:
-It's LONG. The story takes up the basic Phoenix Wright story structure and, yeah, anyone who's played those games knows how long the episodes can be. Especially when you can't skim through any dialogue and all the lines are voiced out. All together, the project is about 9 hours long, so yeah, it's definitely not something you're gonna watch all in one sitting. And yeah, I know that length can be intimidating, but I'd say if you're not sold by the end of the second episode, then you can drop it. But if you do like it, then you'll be glad it's as long as it is (though, yeah, I guess it wouldn't have killed them to trim a few things).
-The numbering of the videos (at least on Youtube) is really word. The titles appear to indicate that there are four parts, but there are actually six parts. There are two part 3's (I don't think it matters which order you watch them since they tell the same day through different perspectives) and there's part 5/4 (of course). So keep that in mind and make sure you have all the videos.
-You may like it if you're a fan of either MLP or Phoenix Wright, but I think you'll get the most out of it if you're familiar with both franchises.
Here's the first episode to get you started:
-
i actually watched that, it was pretty good in my opinion.
-
Now I'm feeling nostalgic.
I remember when I first discovered Turnabout Storm, it was one of the best things I'd ever seen.I've watched at least 5 blind reactions to the series,
which, added to my own viewing, has taken up at least 54 hours of my time.
It's safe to say that I'm a big fan of the project lol -
That episode was… something.
! Well, that was the most dialogue Big Mac has had than the entire rest of the series combined.
! And it was all in falsetto. -
Oh man, Turnabout Storm is extremely entertaining, from start to finish. Addicting cliffhangers, and the production values are solid. Although better make some popcorn if you plan to binge it all in one day. And this is coming from someone has never played a minute of Ace Attorney before.
….which is what I really should do to catch on this season! I think I'm only three episodes behind....the two Rarity ones and this Big Mac (?) one.
-
I just saw Friendship Games…
Sunset best girl forever and always.
-
Liked this new episode.
! Diamond Tiara redemption and The CMC's have their Cutie Marks. Loved the songs too.
-
Well….that was easily the best CMC episode
! And possibly the last? Hmm, well I guess any future episodes will focus on them helping other ponies find their cutie marks.
! A few minor complaints though:
-I always really hoping for Showstoppers to pay off some how, but I guess not
-The cutie marks seem kind of…plain, I guess. Or maybe they need to be sized up a bit. -
OMG, the latest episode…..just OMG!! :D
! Finally…..FINALLY, after all these years of MLP, the cutie mark crusaders finally got their cutie marks, not to mention that Diamond Tiara finally redeemed herself which surprised me!! :w00t:
! What a hell of a way to celebrate the 5th anniversary of MLP: FiM! -
! You know, there was a really long while (back in Season 4) when I thought I was done with MLP. But there have been many episodes in Season 5 that have made me glad I decided to keep watching, and this one is without a doubt on top of that list.
! Congrats CMC, you earned those marks. -
I cried. I knew what was coming and I still fucking cried.

-The cutie marks seem kind of…plain, I guess. Or maybe they need to be sized up a bit.! Well, they ARE based around music, acrobatics and… apples... so pretty much as expected since that episode. It is neat that they're a unified set though, I don't think we've seen that before. Though I guess the apple has a heart in it... and the wing has Rainbow Dash's lightning bolt? And the music note has a star around it? They're all three of them double tiered marks, plus the unifying back color.
! I don't buy into Tiara's change though. Even if they've changed the status quo she was waaaay too much of a bitch up till now to be at all sympathetic in the course of one song number.
! Also... about damn time. -

! Yeah, that's the one downside to it is that they waited too long and it happened too fast. Of course, the easy comparison here is to (WARNING: Gravity Falls spoilers)…
! >! Pacifica from Gravity Falls and, yes, her redemption definitely felt more organic. Yes, Pacifica was a typical bully in the first season (though I don't remember her being too overbearing), but then the second season immediately gave us a hint of redemption in Golf War, and full redemption in Northwest Mansion Mystery, and it was awesome. With Diamond Tiara it was five seasons of nothing but unapologetic bitchiness and…yeah, it was just too little too late.
! I mean, I guess I'm glad it happened at all, but it's too bad it couldn't have been done better. -
I'm still not caught up on Gravity Falls! I'm only on episode four of season 2!
-
I'm still not caught up on Gravity Falls! I'm only on episode four of season 2!
Oh…..........whoops.
-
At least I'd already seen the golf episode, so that's not terribly shocking.
Of course I could have also not seen the show at all, I suppose.
Anyway. Diamond Tiara. Way too rushed after far too long to feel organic. At least Discord basically only really likes Fluttershy and is just messing with all the others.
-
! They have done it! I was hoping for it and expected it, but WOW, how I cheered at this moment! Finally! Don't care about Diamond Tiara. They delivered her redemption pretty well, I think ( I buy it atm).
-
! Spoiled Rich…wow, what a bitch she was.
She publicly called her kid's classmates "lowlives" loudly and matter-of-factly, which for a kids show was very extreme of her.
Even Diamond Tiara, a pony known for putting others down, thought that her mother was being hurtful. To me, that said a lot right there.
! Seeing that Diamond Tiara was a product of her upbringing, and that she wanted to change, I instantly forgave her and joined the CMC in feeling sympathetic.
I've seen enough of the trope to just accept it, roll with it and see where it goes, rather than get hung up on the cop out.
The music was on point, the chase scene especially. The "stop!" "wait!" "listen!" thing gave me eargasm. That was some really nice switch up of the vocals.
I was also pleased that they addressed the seemingly pointless crown cutie mark, and showed that even DT herself didn't know what it meant. That was super cool.
I imagine that she bossed someone around while wearing a dress, and didn't realize that a cutie mark appeared until she undressed at home. She wouldn't be able to make the correlation.
! And wow, the CMC's "special talent" blew my mind, and it adds a new context to what happened in Appleoosa's Most Wanted.
Helping others figure out their true selves and destinies is a wonderful thing to be good at, and I'm so proud of them.
! It also adds new context to The Cutie Mark Chronicles. The mane six, through the CMC, learned something special about their own cutie mark origins.
Looking back, that's become pretty damn symbolic. -
Wow, what a great episode.
! The music was great in this episode, and the song, "We'll Make Our Mark" fit the theme perfectly. And I always figured that the way to keep the CMC going after they got their cutie marks was to have them help other foals get their cutie marks. If I have one gripe . . . . . .
! it's the cutie marks. I just don't really like them. Maybe it's the color theme? I like the images with the wing/lightning, apple/heart, star/note, but the backgrounds with the colors it's . . . . . . eh. The only one who's colors matches them is Scootaloo's. Or maybe I just wanted each of them to have their own more unique mark. Like I was actually wanting Sweetie Belle to have a bell-themed mark, or Apple Bloom to have a flower or something. Either way, the marks just don't sit with me. Maybe they'll grow on me. -
This week's mini PMV.
!
-
I'm with you satsuki. they just don't seem to fit
-
The back pattern matches their hair colors.

-
still dun like it.
would be nice if they used some other element on the 3 of them. or at least make the top element more unique or colorful towards each character. -

Eh, I still don't like it, symbolic though it may be. Just the background in general doesn't suit my taste, although the symbols are adorable. Maybe a different shape, different color, or hell maybe just the SIZE. Geh, I dunno.
Although Apple Bloom has an apple. That's most important.
-
After five years of waiting, nothing was going to be good enough. Kind of like Beast's human form in Beauty and the Beast.
Peronally I wanted Applebloom's to look like this.
-
! Did it really happen…...?
I thought it was gonna be a Spongebob-never-getting-his-license situation.
