Genjuui Toteku was the winner of this Golden Future Cup…
Thanks for this reference. I agree, it'sa great one-shot. I hope it gets the serialization. The mangaka is also new; or at least he doesn't have a mangaupdates profile. I was curious about reading something else writen by him.
It is announced that there going to be an important announcement for Himouto! Umaru-chan (series from Young Jump) on December 7.
Here is Genjuui Toteku non-english one shot if anyone curious: http://imgur.com/a/Bu7Fq

I don't see an English version around. Just in case, here the Spanish one (which I read).

Hopefully it announces it is ending with volume 200. What a run it has had.

Nah, he released volume 999 beforehand. So, he needs to release up to volume 998 in order to end it.
Japan Media Arts Festival has announced the winners of the festival awards.
Higashimura Akiko's Kakukaku Shikajika took the Grand Prize. Earlier this year this manga took the Manga Taisho award as well. I couldn't be more happy to see this wonderful, wonderful manga recognised for the quality of its honest and merciless narrative.
And Excellence Awards going to both esoragoto and Otouto no Otto is kind of unexpected. Nonetheless, well deserved.

I hope its anime returns, and with that reunites again with One Piece to do the Anime 7 block! Ah, that would be a good dream.

Damn… Higashimura is having herself a really nice year and she certainly deserves it. Andou Yuki has been getting a lot of attention with Machida-kun this year as well.

Character looks very similar but new one shot is definitely different from Kyousei no Murasaki.

I have to say it: the Grand Prize of 2014, Five-Colour Boat by Tsuhara Yasume and Kondou Yoko, is such a magnificent series.

Her mangas worth reading?

Indeed the story is a very kind way to thank her teacher.
… and it’s great Boulet is in the jury list (though i’m not a big fan of his colaboration with Bagieu)

Her mangas worth reading?
Jellyfish Princess is probably her most famous title.
Her mangas worth reading?
They're good reads… definitely worth it in my opinion. Like Kdom said, Higashimura's most well known series is definitely Kurogehime/Princess Jellyfish. It's a cute and funny yet profound SoL/Comedy.
The title that has gotten all of these awards this year is a completed series - Kakukaku Shikajika; it's an autobiographical manga that is a window into her own past journey into becoming and growing as a mangaka. A tad melancholic in tone with some fun happenings to balance it out but overall a very nice reminiscent coming of age story. I would say the art is pretty simplistic but charming. To put it simply... the story is like a realer and rawer version of Bakuman.

Nope, it is still good. It is just that it isn't really a typical Jump sports series.
Sesuji is still super good. It's just perhaps a bit unconventional for WSJ, but overall it's been fluctuating in rankings somewhere in the middle, so hopefully it's fine.

Sesuji did got two consecutive colour page and extended pages. It's probably still doing fine. The second volume is also coming out today.
The ranking is based on 7/8 weeks ago, so should be chapter 23/22. Not much happen in those two chapter. Mainly introduction to a new member and chapter 23 was entirely a training montage. Once the competition start, it will rise back to its usual position (in the middle).

Buddy Strike's position is irrelevant right now. Notable series have been placed there with the fourth chapter, wait for the seventh and eight before declaring it dead please.

If you read the series, then you should understand why there is that argument.

Okay, I made mistake.
There isn't going to be special chapter for Gunjou no Magmel. Instead, Koroshiya Domino (upcoming one shot) is the one shot by the author of Magmel.
It is first one shot by non-Japanese author since 4.5 years. However, if we count for author who did both story and artwork, then s/he should be first non-Japanese author to do that.
