@The:
Didn't realize Steel Ball run was that long. Then again, it went to a monthly series so even with less chapters, there were more pages overall.
Yeah, that's why I used Volumes instead of Chapters to get across what I was talking about.
Chapter breakdowns work for P1-6 but P7-8 have completely different scaling for what constitutes a whole "Chapter" so when you're including those, you have to switch to talking about volumes.
Ok, so, been thinking about how this could be paced and how many episodes we could get and, through the power of Math, came up with some stuff.
Putting in a Spoiler tag due to length, not actual spoilers.
! To begin, it should be said that Parts 1-2 and Part 3 had different pacing to some extent, Part 3 was a bit slower, so first I'll show JUST each "Season" by itself:
! Season 1: Parts 1+2 = 113 Chapters into 26 Episodes
Average Pacing: 4.3 Chapters per Episode
! Season 2: Part 3 = 152 Chapters into 48 Episodes
Average Pacing: 3.1 Chapters per Episode
! So, the average of both parts TOGETHER then comes out thusly:
! Parts 1-3 total = 265 Chapters adapted into 74 Episodes.
! Doing the Math, that makes:
! 3.5 Chapters per Episode
! Which is really much closer to the P3 level of pacing than the P1+2 Level, but that's to be expected since P3 makes up about 2/3 of the sampling data.
! Apply that to Part 4's 174 Chapters and you get:
! 50 Episodes.
! That's not bad. If you pushed it to 52 episodes you could comfortably adapt it to a 3.3 Chapter per episode pacing which is DAMN Close to P3s pacing. P3 also took a few unnecessary slow downs too which it didn't necessarily need to, like, The Sun didn't REALLY need to be an entire episode unto itself for example.
! 52 episodes would honestly be quite nice.
