I don't think that could happen unfortunately. One interview they mentioned each generation having a unique trait to set them apart, using XY's trainer customization feature for example. Chances are we won't see it again in following main games, or remakes of other games outside itself.

I know of that interview, but I hope they realize how incredibly stupid that is. Sounds petty, but one of the reasons I skipped ORAS was that Pikachu had more customizability than the trainer.
-
Zygarde digivolution line looks… terrible. But I guess that's what legendaries became generations ago. Ash's Greninja is just as bad, but I don't watch the anime so whatever.
But I am looking for a Z game... that's why I skipped ORAS.
-
There's going to be a big announcement next Tuesday. Stay tunned!
-
Zygarde is…..Pokemon's answer to Cell?
-
MegaZygord looks cool but the doge form looks meh.
And not sure a Greninja form was necessary
-
Ash's Squirtle had those glasses, so its okay if his Greninja could be more unique.
-
Yeah, I am pretty sure it is just wearing clothes and accessories, it is not a new forme.
-
I just noticed.
Is the chest actually Zygard's face? -
The legendaries of Kalos take inspiration from Norse mythology, and so does Zygarde's many forms.
Dog: Fenrir
Snake: Obviously, Jormungander
True form: Hela, sovereign of the underworld. Each half represents Life (Xerneas) and Death (Yveltal). To sum it up, Zygarde snake form was just the system pokemon at 50% only. Let that sink in.

I thought Zygarde would be Nidhogg, given that Xerneas is pretty much Eikthyrnir/Yggdrasil, and Yveltal could be Vidofnir/w.e. you call it. Kinda connects the three of them. Also the fact that it's a ground-type dragon, where Jormungandr is a sea serpent.
Other two make sense I guess, though it's a shame for Fenrir to be wasted on Zygarde, when we could have gotten a badass steel/dark wolf or something.
-
Zygarde 10% is not a wolf, its a dog. A greyhound or a dobberman to be exact. So a giant ice-type wolf legendary is still possible.
-
If we have turtle and/or flower pokemon of several types, sure we can have another wolf or dog or whatever you prefer to call it.
-

I'd rather not have a legendary ice wolf… that would just mean they were less likely to do a normal ice world.
Same way Shaymin gets in the way of there ever being a grass hedgehog.
If we have turtle and/or flower pokemon of several types, sure we can have another wolf or dog or whatever you prefer to call it.
We've had a couple turtles, but they've been pretty drastically different. And flowers well, theres a million kinds of flower and it a goto for grass types.
Outside of maybe sunflora, flowers are usually a sub theme rather than the main idea of a mon.
-
That Ash/Greninja fusion is so stupid.
I want it so bad oh my god.
-
Does that Greninja mean customization in Kalos is now going to expand to the pokemon as well? If so, I can't wait to dress up a certain favorite of mine like Captain Falcon.
-
So yeah its officially revealed.
Ash-Greninja as the form that Greninja takes when the bond between it and Ash is raised to the limit. The strength of their bond changes Greninja's appearance, and it takes on the characteristic look of Ash's attire. This phenomenon is also said to have happened just once several hundred years ago in the Kalos region, but it remains shrouded in mystery.
I'm guessing this is a new game feature because anime wise it would make no sense that Greninja would turn into Satoshi instead of Pikachu, well its not like the anime is well written.
If its a game thing, frankly I like mega evos but I dont want my pokemon to look like my trainer, so what I change my hat the and the pokemon change with it? meh that Greninja looks pretty awesome imo but I don't like the whole transforming into what the trainer looks like it doesn't make sense to me.

…but it says "bond between it and Ash"...

Eh true. Even not counting Pikachu, there's plenty of Ash's Pokemon that could fit this role: Charizard, Bulbasaur, Squitle, Bayleef, Donphan, etc.
As a game feature….I have no idea what to think. This is a series that invests its thematic elements on the bonds between you and your Pokemon, so it's not too crazy. But maybe I'm reading too much into the science of it all....like a mega stone or whatever has special energies + trainer's own gadget -> upgrades a specific pokemon to mega form.
So....the pokemon looks at the trainer and thinks "i want to look like my master, twin bond mode go?"
Although different clothing and stuff could really make some pokemon look freaking epic.

Basically we're in Digimon Tamers territory.
-
Anyway, why would he have a giant water shuriken on his back? That is kinda random fashion choice since he can generate any of those anytime.

Big flashy weapon and bright colors.
Greninja has completed his transformation into a Naruto character.

Its probably learning Water Shuriken and for cool purposes they keep the Shuriken there all te time I guess or maybe just for this art piece, we are getting a trailer tomorrow I believe so we will probably see it in action in the anime.
Next game talk: With them saying Zygarde cells are split around the region I'm expecting us to get the Core during the game story and getting the cells as the story progresses, so we would have the dog, the snake and eventually the perfect one.
-
Its just weird that we're getting the Z focus legendary (game?) in whats being speculated to be a new gen.
That confuses me a little, but if they're doing wide band monster costumes now that could be a thing… but they won't do it for everything and I wonder i it'll be more like mega stones or like cosplay pikachu.
-
If someone is interested in seeing the new pokemon the website for the anime has updated.
http://www.tv-tokyo.co.jp/anime/pokemon_xyz/index.html
Click on the little square on the top left that has Satoshi to see the new trailer, the Greninja transforms into that form it doesn't seem to be always like that. you can see Dogharde, Megazordgarde and Spermgarde in it aswell.

That's because it's almost certainly not a new gen. Especially since we still haven't gotten Volcanion

The timing is right and the anime is pacing itself to finish its current area in the next several months, (being on the 7th badge now) and even starting to introduce brand new gimmicks like Greeninja getting trainer colors. 6th gen was extremely small with only 70 mons instead of the usual 120-150. They've started doing a massive high quality plushie making campaign to do all the mons as of just a couple months ago. It's the 20th anniversary and they've done the teaser image that only shows first iterations of a gen.
There's a lot to indicate its about time for the next gen, its just thrown off by the legendaries… but it wouldn't be the first time they rushed those out at the last minute, Meleotta and Genesect didn't come out till after XY had already been announced, and then those were both released in the space of like 3 weeks... and they've often crammed a ton of legendaries into the last movie of a gen.
The lack of the obvious Z entry and the usual midquel is the one weird thing, and upping the forms of Zygarde seems a natural fit for that, and that's the main reason to expect a Z announcement.
No, its not time for the new gen in February, but it would be by September, that'll be three years. Traditional schedule for a midquel game would have been a fall release, and its too late for that now... and they haven't done an English spring release in years, and they've NEVER done it in Spring in Japan for any of the main games, except for the very first game which came out February 27, 1996.... Beyond that it's always been a fall release there and they do worldwide synch now. Especially since they have a mystery dungeon game coming out this winter holding the gap already. (ANd they have NEW 3ds' to sell...)
You better believe they're going to do a year long "20th anniversary" celebration... and if they were going to launch a game to match Feb 27, we would be hearing word about it now pretty much. They're starting to tease stuff so we should know one way or another in the next couple weeks. If we haven't heard about a release for Z by this time next month, then its pretty much guaranteed to be an actual new game in the fall. (I can't imagine them NOT hitting that Feb 27 date with something as close as possible though.)

Tell me more about that…
I was at a con this weekend. They had a bunch f super high quality ones from Japan, including a bunch I've never seen plushified before. They've apparently gone through about 200 of them, (plus some shinies) are are slowly cycling some out and bringing others in.
No idea where you'd find them other than a con, but I snagged a giant Sandshrew for me, and a magikarp for a friend that's basically life sized and on really good quality fabric. (The small mons like those and the eevees are the best because they go to about lifesize and are huge. The bigger things like Charizard are naturally, scaled down and just don't seem as good, because the scaling reduces their overall bulk even if they're about the same size. Absol looked awfu, it had a giant forehead and looked atrocious… and Mightyena fares badly as welll.)
http://www.pokemoncenter.com/ seems to have some, but not all of what I saw at the show.
-
There's a site called pokevault that usually has access to the releases in Japan, and they import. It's pricey, so I usually check there and then look at other sites for what I want.
Some of what Robby mentioned though, I hadn't heard before. Haven't seen a Sandshrew for sale in a very long time and I had to snag a custom sandslash on etsy.

Cons, huh? :/ I won't be seeing those, but I guess as long as this give me a new chance of having this guy, I am happy.

And now comes the waiting for Ludicolo plushies game.
Absol looked awfu, it had a giant forehead and looked atrocious…
That's just what happens when Absol's rendered in 3D. The thing had a massive head in Colosseum/XD.
-
Robby's keyboard is awfu.
-
Hoopa is coming!
In The UK in GAME stores and in Germany in Gamestop.
Distribution from October 23rd to Novemb 5th.
Other countries are announced soon
-
Well we always have limited or not at all events here but now that Nortec (the company that have Nintendo products in Greece) is closing b/c of the economic crisis there is no way for such a thing to happen
-
One more month and nothing revealed, CoroCoro just leaked apparently we are getting Shiny Xerneas and Yveltal in an event plus a Zygarde, ehn shiny Xerneas looks cool.
-
Am I the only one who doesn't really care about Shinies?
-
Am I the only one who doesn't really care about Shinies?
I don't really care about them either.
Yeah, I'll try to catch them if I'm luck enough to encounter them, but I certainly don't go out of my way to collect them.
-
Am I the only one who doesn't really care about Shinies?
I don't for the most part they're honestly just trade fodder.
-
I reeeeally wanted shiny Sandshre and Emolgas cause they're my all time favorites. Even though sandshrew is an awful green color.
I have both now. Shiny sandslash with the red quills is really cool. But emolga just looks like it's paralyzed.
