I feel odd in that I'm apparently the only one that "gets" him. Everything that he is, is exactly what's he's suppose to be. Humble, mundane origins that succeeds through willpower, tenacity and effort. He's only been overpowered recently because he inherited Frohze's gourmet demon.

Just finished an epic catch up having been too busy to read Toriko the past 6 months. Read from Chapter 295-334 (PAIR Arc - present)!! Holy Moly!! What a rush!! Seems the story is back on track!! So many exciting new developments since entering the Gourmet World!!
I'm excited to find out how Shima-San is gonna intertwine all of these "Acacia Full Course Capture" Arcs (for want of a better name)….........Seems ANOTHER has been left to the Chefs, (with a massive Soul trade back story slowly being revealed)........with at least 4 more battles, along with the journey to the Back Channel, showdown with the Whale King and ultimately the capture/cooking of the Another Fish (by Komatsu no doubt)
But what about the rest!!

Livebearer & Sunny going up against the King Mother Snake to acquire EARTH!!

I think we should have an unanimously agreement. This is, undoubtedly, in terms of plot development and shocking twists, the best fucking chapter in the entire series.

So I'm assuming the Resident Evil looking creature at the end of the chapter is Acacia and/or The Sun-eating Demon (the Sun-eating Demon in a…baby-like state, of course.)?

Well… It can apparently eat entire planets and suns (which are bigger than planets), so... That's quite...horrifying, since it basically means he can 1-shot everything on the planet at once (things that we saw this chapter included, the Mother King, Deer Lord etc.) and acquire energy from them. Or, if he eats a sun, kill an entire solar system, because life pretty much cannot survive without a solar body.

I wonder where Toriko is going as a series at this point. It does feel like the Gourmet World arc is being accelerated. To the point where they'll have most of Acacia's full course (if not all of it) within 100 chapters or so. Does dealing with Franken-Acacia end the series? Or will Toriko end up in a final space arc in where they confront the origin source of gourmet cells? I feel like it could go either way at this point.

They will come, eventually, when Toriko and company actually go to Area 1. Then I'm sure both Jirou and Midora will be defeated (or even die) to that creature, leaving Toriko and company–the next generation--to do the rest. Just my two cents, and my feelings based on what we've seen.

I've said this before I think, but I'm imagining a finale similar to Asura's Wrath, where they have to fight the planet itself/a monster coming from inside the planet.
But yeah, I doubt it will last more than another few years. Volume sales are down, Anime is dead, and ToC placement is just sort of average. Still, should be a fun ride.
