Maader Max is turning into one of the best villains in the series. I knew she bent children to her will but seeing it being done, and to a guy like Sinbad, is scary. Masrur's willpower must be off the charts.
Magi
-
-
Yeah, it's subtle tortures like this that are the worst. It's worse than getting flayed or beaten because it plays with your mind as well as your body.
Proving that Sinbad is more entertaining than Magi right now.
-
Im still interested in finding out who Nanaumis master is. Hakuryuu has no other choice to ask him and Nanaumi to help him with the War, its do or die for him.
-
Al Thamen is behind it ofc who else
-
I really hoped we were done with Al Thamen
-
We won't be done with Al Thamen until the very end of the series.
-
New chapter is out, still trying to care. The only fucked up thing that will most likely happen is that haku will lose his good vibes altogether because he will probably end up killing off one of his brothers and maybe even his sister.
But all I care about is Alibaba. ._.
I like how Ohtaka creates twists each chapter. Making it seem like Koumei is running blind into a trap, only to reveal he knows exactly what Haku wants, and plans to force his hand because they have more options than him.
Even this last twist with Haku is an enigma. It's almost like it's a gambit he made, the only way for him to win. Since Koumei seems pretty sure Haku can't win, Nanaumi's group which is an unknown factor for Koumei is probably what will determine the outcome.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Im still interested in finding out who Nanaumis master is. Hakuryuu has no other choice to ask him and Nanaumi to help him with the War, its do or die for him.
I think they are part of the battle plan from the start. Don't be naive.
Hakuryuu mentioned it was his original plan. And Nanaumi said her father would do anything for him. There's probably a whole clan of ninjas or ninja-like assassins, ready to attack at a critical moment.
Who knows, maybe Nanaumi is actually something like a princess, and Haku's future wife. Something like that could have been asked for by her father, to strenghten the alliance.
-
Two full pages of "i want Alibaba right now" or "Haku bothers me as protagonist" or "i have seen better wars than this one". The new trend is "Sinbad is better than Magi"… i wouldn't want Magi other way than this, trying to achieve what only good shonen can do, envelope all the posibilities in one wrap.
Haku it isn't going to play ping-pong with the childrens, i assure you that.
-
Sinbad will wait for a while.
-
I can't recall the last series I've seen that focused on so many varied mother figures.
-
The day Rurumu dies will be one fucked up chapter.
-
! * The chapter opens with Kouen and Aladdin in Balbadd, with the former talking about the battle (that it seems it is/was a short battle with minimum sacrifices, etc). He then asks Aladdin if he won’t do anything now that Alibaba is dead, and that this was a conflict between people of a country that has nothing to do with him.
- Aladdin isn’t sure about the “unrelated” part, and understands that they wanted to fight, but wonder if this is really what Hakuryuu wanted.
- Back in the battlefield, Nanaumi is still mocking Hakuryuu, confirming that he he has ran out of magoi and is currently unable to move his arm or legs (well, from the looks of the last chapter “moving” his arm is definitely not an option…).
- As Kouha and Kougyoku get ready to use their Extreme Magic, Nanaumi says that it all doesn’t matter, since the victor will be Hakuryuu in the end… after all, from the moment her master decided to help Hakuryuu his victory had been already decided. Hakuryuu looks quite silent, though, as new soldiers appear.
- These new soldiers address Nanaumi (weirdly enough, they refer to her as 七海 instead of ナナウミ - which yes, means the same, but I wonder if it means it is a name?), asking if their opponents are these two girls? (poor Kouha). Yes folks, we got other countries backing Hakuryuu.
- Though Koumei was apparently anticipating Oniyakko (meaning something like “demon kingdom”) joining.
JapanOniyakko is an eastern tiny island country, whose diplomatic relations with the Empire were cut when their new leader ascended. He still finds a it a bit off that they would join his sibling, but his train of though is interrupted when news of an army of 10K attacking them from the rear reach him. And…. - “They are knights! Covered in steel armor, it’s the cavalry of another nation!” (OH MY GOD NO).
- The King of Japan Oniyakko, Yamato Takehiko, then introduces himself to Kouha, and the reason he is here is of course…
- “The two of us came to assist our fellow member of the Seven Seas Alliance!!”
- And why I say “two”? Because of course, the other king here is no other than Darius Leoxses.
-
Love that slap from Ruru.vI was tired of the kind of talk the princess was pulling against her benefactors. I really missed her. She really is the most responsible there and she has a great aura. I wonder if she's around in the present.

! HOLY SHIT!!!
! Damn, why did I read those spoilers. Fuck.
! I expected Nanaumi's clan is some sort of Japan equivalent and that they were going to help. But it's a whole kingdom? Nanaumi's master is probably a metal vessel user himself.
! But then Seven Seas Alliance? Talk about a twist!
! Well done Ohtaka, with plot as good as this, she can draw stick figures for all I care. Ok, no, but you get it.
! Well, I said I expected something "fucked up". This about covers it, although there's probably plenty more coming. -

Ho Shit.
! The kanji used for Nanaumi's name, ironically, means "seven seas." What does that indicate, I wonder?
-
! Hakuryuu really is a member of the SSA. Talk about a cool twist.
-
! So the guy that all but killed Alibaba is Sinbad's new ally. . .
! . . .yeah, it's confirmed now, Ohtaka wants to turn Sin into the biggest asshole ever. -
I've been calling that since… ever?
-
Spoily stuff
! Well Haku did take care of Al-Tharmen from what he knows and I guess he rather not hold personal grudge on diplomatic matters.I'm still greatly surprise by it. Kaku doesn't seems like such a great ally and as a character I wouldn't expect Sin to be too fond of him(depravity, Alibaba and all..).
Did you finish your reread off Baalbad? I would like to know your opinion on it. -
! Sinbad can break off that alliance just as easy once Kouen is gone.
! No place for emotions for a king who's responsible for a shitload of people. Not to mention Sinbad is a singularity and his actions shouldn't be judged the same way we judge actions of normal characters. -
! Being a King doesn't give him the license of being a douchebag, but I agree that this is the logical course of action, weakening the big army.
-
! Oh it's a dick move allright, not gonna argue that.
! Maybe we've had a first hint of a real bad guy now? He may end up the same as David, more or less. -
! Nanaumi… so obvious yet no one realized it. Good one, Ohtaka. Good one.

With Hakuryuu part of the SSA, he has to obey the SSA policy of not invading and with Haku now in Sin's debt after this, it reminds me of their talk back in chapter 112.
!
! He is definitely going to make use of Haku. -
Chapter is out - http://bato.to/read/_/331262/magi_ch273_by_sense-scans/1
Really I should have seen this coming but an exciting development nonetheless. It's really interesting to have a war where we're invested in the parties on both sides.
-
Nanaumi is seriously one of the happiest, upbeat characters in this whole series, and she somehow made this clear with only a small amount of scenes
what an enjoyable character -
I don't like Kina guy's design. A bit…plain perhaps? Regardless, I expect his character to make up for it. Strikes me as a straightforward type of person (making me look forward to his and Sin's meeting in the spin-off; probably clashed heads like two bulls, those two lol).
I'm not going to write off Kou just yet but the tides have changed considerably. It's your turn now, strategist Koumei.
-
LoL, Glorious Nippon join the fray.
Kouha is a woman?
-

Kouha is a woman?
I Lold at Kouha being called a girl, Takeruhiko doesnt know he is a trap.
Nanaumi fangirling was one of the cutest things the Manga has offered.
Great plot-twist with Hakuryuu joining the SSA, Chapter was as great as OP and Kingdom.
-

There might even be more reinforcements for Haku.
Incidentally, Kina is the name for China in my language.
So sad I read the spoilers, this chapter would have been way better without any prior knowledge of what's to come. Usually I stop reading spoilers when I start caring more about a manga. This is probably it.
-
I really love that first panel of Aladdin on page 4.
-
LoL, Glorious Nippon join the fray.
Kouha is a woman?
That was supposed to be a joke with the Kina king mistaking Kouha for a female.
-
Sinbad is a singularity and his actions shouldn't be judged the same way we judge actions of normal characters.
That's not how that works. If you read AoS, even destiny and fate don't really give two shits about Sinbad.
-
So glad it's not Al Thamen!
I didn't see this coming but it's definitely a Sinbad thing to do. The only question is are they going to kill the two girls princes or not.
-

Stopped reading when there were 5 chapters out.
It's not about destiny or fate, it's about how Sinbad thinks and what he sees. Of course, David was probably in a league of his own, but Sinbad should have the same potential.
As I understand, Adventure of Sinbad is still at a point where he's not much more than a kid?
-

Given the latest events in the manga, the things Sin's accomplished so far, the people he's met, the dungeons conquered, foes defeated etc etc… I'd say he's a bit more than a simple teenager.
It's a really good read actually. You should try it one of these days, mate.
-
Takeruhiko army are full of demons or half demons?
His statement of not wanting to fight girls makes me believe he will ask Nanaumi to fight Kougyoku while Kouha fights him for insulting him, Koumei will take care of Darius.
-

What I meant was, he's far younger than Sinbad in Magi who is probably a fully formed, or close to fully formed individual.
Always planned to read it when there's more material. I think I'll have a go at it soon.
-
No more holding back for Team Kou. It'll be interesting if Aladdin stays out the entire war. Without him alot of people are going to die.
-

If you read the little mini-comics that come with the manga, it's stated in one of them that Sinbad is close to 30, if I recall correctly.
-
I want to see what is Morg doing, Is she still sobbing for Alibabas death or training?
-
So glad it's not Al Thamen!

Am I missing something? What were the Al Thamen looking guys doing in the last chapter? I thought they were now working with Sinbad or something

They are Haku's personal Magoi Generators now.
-

AOS has reached the point where it's showing how arrogant Sinbad has gotten and how he's now paying the price.
The fact that in Magi, we learn that Al-Thamen and Parthevia all but destroyed Sindria in the past and made him semi-fall into depravity means that not even he's immune to anything – even as a singularity. Sinbad is a "miracle", someone with incredible instinct, overwhelming potential, and unheard amounts of magoi, but even he's still just a human at the end of the day.
-
I wonder why the seven seas allied with him. Maybe the alliance believe once the Kouen side is done, Haku will calm down. I'm gonna go with that as an explanation for now.
-
I haven't really read that much of Magi lately. But I like the talk about Sinbad joining with Hakuryu. Kouen has almost zero chance to win this war now. It is actually logical since Kouen is bent on conquest and has no problem working with Althalmen, while the other hates it to the very core.
-
And now the forced mole of Simbad and the poor sister can trigger and fuck everything up.
Haku is doing very evil things, but the coup is beneficial to simbad, whomever wins the rebelion, will be weakened, ripe for either the taking or to join the aliance, and also, clasic Kou had assembled tons of Djins already (6+paimon+haku's) that were on par with the seven seas aliance (sans Sinbad).
My prediction is that the sisters and the little brother are captured, and the big brothers are excecuted, or at least that's the plan. With Al Tharmen being either defeated or banished to the other world, and Judar insisting that Haku can't summon another tentacle rape god with his black ruhk, I don't see the endgame of the series anymore.
Yeah, the bad guys could find another way to break through the barriers of the worlds, and yeah Sinbad is shaping up to be the conqueror of the world, but while despicable, he still hasn't jumped to "villian" territory.
-

I see it as if Kouen and co. beat Haku, they'll go back to conquering other countries, which Sinbad does NOT want. Haku at least seems content with just ruling his home country (for now).
-
! The chapter begins with Darius activating his djinn equip and joining Yamato against Kouha and Kougyoku.
! Kouha asks them something a few people might have been wondering… if the Seven Seas Alliance doesn’t invade others countries, then why are their armies invading the Empire’s lands now? Darius replies that this is not an invasion, since they are helping the emperor of the Kou Empire, who has already formally joined the Alliance, apparently.
! Meanwhile, the Kou strategists are having a panic attack since (if I understood correctly) in order for Sasan’s troops to be here they should have passed the place where Hakuei was - did Hakuei betray them?
Random soldier:“N-no… that is…
”Koumei:“It can’t be… why… Hakuei-dono?!”
! Aboard a ship, someone is talking with Hakuei, thanking her for letting Darius and his troops pass. Hakuei replies that this was the only way to save her brother’s life, and breaks into tears. And of course, the one besides her is…SINBAD.
! Sinbad:“I see. Please leave the matter of your little brother to me. For the sake of ending all battles, let’s head to Balbadd!”
! The focus then shifts on the Eight Generals, and behind them, the armies of Artemyra and Heliohapt.
! Looks like Koumei is pretty surprised about Sinbad making such a large-scale move in such a short time, and without them knowing anything. As it turns out, Hakuryuu contacted Sinbad 20 days before this battle.
! Sinbad mentions Judar’s death, but Hakuryuu doesn’t reply, so Sinbad just mentions that it’s a pity.*“However, we’ll lend you a hand so that you can take back your country, as I promised you back in Sindria that day. Leave everything to me! What remains is to defeat Kouen and for you to become emperor. Come, let’s make a peaceful world together!”
! Hakuryuu: "But… this is not how… I wanted to take it back… . In the end, I as well… couldn’t take back a single country… ”
! And then… the scene shifts to Alibaba and Judar! (no I’m not kidding you). Looks like Alibaba is in a hurry to return to Aladdin and the others… to return before it’s too late! -
I see it as if Kouen and co. beat Haku, they'll go back to conquering other countries, which Sinbad does NOT want. Haku at least seems content with just ruling his home country (for now).
I guess that'sas good of a reason as any. But such an active surprise me from the alliance. They seem to rarely intervene military even in battles between countries. So seeing them take advantage of an internal conflict seems pretty surprising, especially given their motto.
