Ok, gere i try to give a quick help for the Lv Break:
Look in every characters coin list and chosse a character that needs the less gold coins.
Then remember the missing gold coins and go to free log. In free log you can choose mission 1 and then there is a big list. Press the second one and you will see the requirements and the coin rewards. For most coins you need 75% or 100%. If one of the missing coins are in there try to make this mission 100% or at least as much as you need to get this coin.In Dream Log its quite the same. Go to the requiremts list and you can see, you'll get gold coins for doing 75% of the missions.
Dream Log has 6 Requirements, the first 4 are for doing all the missions in Dream Log and the other two are different. One is for getting an S Rank in the very last mission (Which is pretty easy)The other one i can't tell, maybe somrbody with greater japanese skills
-
Heh, managed to 100% all Legend Log stages up to Thriller Bark.
Water 7's 9th requirement had me scratching my head for quite a while. Took me way too long to figure it out.
Oh, and since it hasn't been mentioned, Chopper and Robin's 2nd special need special gold coins to unlock. You get Chopper's by finishing Enies Lobby as Chopper and Robins' by doing the 2nd Water 7 stage as Robin.
-
Kids and other characters important to the flashback is exactly what I meant. It would be awesome. I won't have the game until tonight and have stayed away from this thread, as to remain unspoiled. I look forward to playing it and talking about it.
-
How to level up supports? Where can i choose my supports? Or can i seem them before doing a mission? In which mission is shanks support? Or doffy?
-
Supports are entirely random aside from a few Dream Mode stages that designate one Though if you can't read Japanese, you'll just be doing trial-and-error.
To level a support, just keep using a support attack over and over during one stage.
Of course you can see your supports (in blue) before you start. The ones that join you mid-way in the battle can't bee seen though. It's completely random, though I think they may be bound to particular stages (which seem randomly generated).
-

You can level up playable Support by playing them.
Thanks for the Tipps about Level Break, will try it when I finsihed Dream Log what will take a while. But I'm gonna play the Game until August for Europe Release so I have enough Time :)
-
In addition to what was listed by RuffyDragonGarp, many of the Gold Coins appear on randomly generated "wanted" characters walking around Dream Mode's overworld. Just go to their island and play the mission, which is always beating 3 bosses, then the main boss.
-
Yeah thats pretty easy.
So can anyone help me. How do I archive an S Rang by ! in Romance Dawn. By the Time you can use Kizuna Rush you have to beat Morgan and the Stage is over.
-
Romance Dawn is easy. In the fight you just have to damge him up to the first line and then you can use KMode, just wait a sec
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
And the most complicated things are the treasure events, because there is no translation for them. Can anybody help me out?

So unlocked Shanks and now and Island after him appears but I can't reach it, so did I have to beat the whole Map first?
-
I dont know if this has been posted already, but anyway, preorder bonus for europe.

America will be left out cause they wont dont want to please fans with Collecter's Edition
-
Has anybody compiled a full list of alternate costumes for each character yet?
-
I just went to check and yeah, looks like only the PS4 version is getting a US physical release. GODDAMNIT!
And here I though there is gonna be one for the PS3 version too since I can't afford a PS4 at the moment, not to mention that I don't want to get it just for one game.
F*ck
Well that's a kick in the nuts, ughh there goes me waiting for a US release.
Any chance that I could get my hands on a EU release version? Even though I may have to shell out more money because it'll be an import. (It comes in English correct?)
Also, what's this "Doflamingo edition" I'm hearing about?

Ok now i got it. You get support exp for the character you are playing aswell, like if you are playing Lucci you are getting points for his support aswell.
Can anybody help me with the shop? I need something that helps with the exp like in PW2 or costumes or something that helps to get gold coins
-
Also, just checked out the "Doflamingo Edition". Holy shit that looks cool, another reason to get the European release (besides being able to play it on my PS3 in a language I can understand.)
Though I'll be slightly disappointed if it's only for the PS4 version.
That being said…I'm looking at all the technical bits about it, movesets, gauges, ect and now I'm wondering if I should get PW2 before this one so that I'm not left in the dust with the mechanics.

Doflamingo Edition is also for Ps3.

I think my game will arrive tomorrow and I thought I'd ask; how is the framerate? Is it a steady 60 or 30 fps or does it have frequent frame drops? Also, how are the boss battles?

On Ps4 its most of the Time very stable, from Time to Time Frame Drops but nothing that annoyes me. Boss Battles are great a Mix from PW 1 and 2, more challenging as in PW 2 and some of them have nice Elements.
-
Ok for all the people who dont know if they should import the game or not, well its better to wait for the english release.
Why? because the ps4 is much better and if you only own a ps3 its enough time to buy a ps4 also e3 is coming so if they announce a slim version and release it this year (probably not) its going to be worth the wait and playing the game while understating everything is much better than waiting for translations for things like objectives etc…
-
So I guess this game will have online on PC. The Steam page says it has both coop and local coop.
-
Okay they really had fun with Sanji in this game. Just discovered that when playing Sanji and you choose either Nami or Robin as a support and enter Kizuna Rush mode Sanji, instead of looking badass as usual, will appear in heart-eyed ecstasy during the cutscene. Both when activating and when doing the Kizuna finisher. Also when doing a regular support attack with Nami or Robin, he'll cry out "NAMI-chWAAN!!!" or "Robin-chWAAN!" every time their support attack is used.
So far I know but you can use K Mode only in the End Fight, how do I get enough ! to get an S Rang.
So unlocked Shanks and now and Island after him appears but I can't reach it, so did I have to beat the whole Map first?
Use Zoro's T-binded Support attack on all the mobs you see. SHould give you enough (!)
As for the island behind Shanks, I believe you have to unlock all the characters in Dream Mode before it appears.
And the most complicated things are the treasure events, because there is no translation for them. Can anybody help me out?
It can be tricky because it requires playing as more than one Strawhat to trigger a unique dialoque scene. Here's what I got (aside from Luffy)
-Orange Town: Play as Zoro and clear the first two cannon territories with minimal Damage
-Syrup Village: (I know this doesn't require character changing, but it's damn annoying) Play as Luffy and bait Kuro so he meets Usopp the first time he appears as an enemy (not the final battle)
-Arlong Park: 1. -Play as Sanji and defeat the first group of fishman captains. 2. Play as Zoro and defeat Hatchi
-Loguetown -Play as Zoro and meet Tashigi
-Water 7 - Play as Sanji and defeat the first 5 captains that appear.
-Enies Lobby -Play as Zoro & Sanji and meet Kaku & Jyabura–- Update From New Post Merge ---

PS3 framerate is very steady. No different from previous PW games. Framerate dips are extremely rare.

Doflamingo Edition is also for Ps3.
Noice.
So it seems like I'll be getting that if I can ( The EU release of PW3 "Doflamingo Edition"). It's in English right?
Anyways, with it being an import I imagine it's going to cost quite a pretty penny. (Anyone have any estimates in US dollars?) but I hope it's gonna be worth it. When does the EU release happen same time about the US release?

But what if I have no intention of getting a PS4? The only other place to get a PS3 English version would be the EU release if I'm not mistaken right?

Someone already hacked the game and got the support characters playable.

There will be an USA release because of the official Namco Bandai Games America trailer on youtube but even if you dont want the ps4 version you should wait for the english release trust me.
-
So I'll be waiting for Steam version. And looking forward to seeing how silly japanese people will screw up pc port this time.
Then again, it is a musou game, there isn't much to screw up with.
Of course, unless you will port the PS3 version. AGAIN.

So preorderd my Doflamingo Edition, Amazon.de says Release is 28th of August. Fits perfect since I have 2 Weeks of from Work then :D
-
I don't get why they don't release the NPC characters as playable characters when they clearly have a moveset to make them enjoyable to play. Is it just so they can milk the games more or what? A single extra playable character adds alot of value to a musou game, in my opinion.

Did you watch the Videos. Most of them are not looking Fun to play cause they lack Moves, their Moveset is very limited and far from complete. Most of them have lame Specials like Vergo. Only Monet and Hody look like they can be Fun but no I will wait for PW 4. Clearly they need new Characters for further Games.

Trust me, I was already waiting for an english release. No point in buying a game I can't understand; especially in an objective based game like PW.

As PW 2 most of the Game you clearly understand witout knowing Japanese. I can't red it and can enjoy almost all :)

Speaking of PW2 I think I'm going to be getting it rather soon. Not only because it looks fun (actually it looks like a massive improvement over PW1), but I'd like to familiarize myself with the new mechanics and what not.
But when it comes down to it, I don't mind subtitles…but it's just a personal preference of mine that I can read it. It just is.
About that though; is there any DLC for it? And if there is, what's the deal with it? I'm just asking because last year I bought "PW1: Treasure Edition" (with a code for all of the DLC) used, at Anime Boston. But when I tried to put the code in, it told me that it was "invalid". Is it a one time only "first come, first served" sort of deal? If someone else enters the code in before you, even though you now have the game it won't give it to you?
Because while it isn't the worst thing in the world, if that is the case then in total honesty that's bullshit.
-
^ They gave you an Invalid Code, every code is uniqe.
Hack:
Im really glad that the hack is possible, i tought that this time it might now work.
Kiera is right, they usually aren't fun to play with, but its the only way to play as Vergo, Bellamy, etc.
Fun fact is, these NPC have at least 70% of there moves already and even two special attacks.Does anybody know how to use it? I suppose it works with Brute Force Savedata just like PW2 did, if so has anybody the code?

There is a lot of DLC, its easier to get the digital Prestige Edition otherwise you won't get all DLC and even if you do buy Prestige Edition you won't get Nami Costumes cause they were exklusiv for digital Pre Order back at the Release.

So wait, it was a mistake? Like the DLC code was printed on wrong and it never worked in the first place? Or somebody used it, and then it became "Invalid"?
Sorry if I'm sounding really thick right now; It's just that "Invalid" is a bit of an ambiguous word.
Also it would be really nice to find out for sure that I wasn't screwed over by the all too common corporate dildo that DLC can be.
-
Thanks sir. Can you speak japanese?
Can you help me with the shop?No I can't. All trial & error (and a bit of series familiarity)
Speaking of which there's one Thriller Bark Treasure Mission that is a real pain due to the vague nature of the mission. You must play as Brook, get as many Strawhats onto the first ledged area/bridge where Oar attacks, then have Oars knock down the first group, protect that group and by the second time Oars attacks, it will trigger.
Took forever to figure out.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
OK will try it.
But how can I chosse which Attack a Support is using? So I have to use the Trinagle Support Attack and when he does his?
It depends on the very last button of the combo. Usually works best if it's the last two of the combo (TT or SS). Also only works if your character is in motion while doing it.
-
Heh, all this talk about DLC is bringing back memories.
It's not that bad here, but still.
On another note, /v/ sings is absolutely hilarious. Seriously.
-

"Hacked playable" is NOT the same as "complete moveset." They have 3 or 4 animations each for appearing okay as NPCs, but a playable character has something closer to 20 moves.
-
As again, they only had to put 2-5 moves and a runnig animation f they combine everything it would be complete.
-
As again, they only had to put 2-5 moves and a runnig animation f they combine everything it would be complete.
Watch the videos. Each of those characters has 4-5 attacks, and a single musou.
And no, getting a completely identical punch to fill out an entire square chain is not an appropriate way to pad it it out.
4 moves and a musou isn't 20 moves, those characters are nowhere near done.
Let alone actually giving them moves that work and flow properly.
Its like saying Ryu is ready to go in street fighter with just a fireball, but no dragonpunch or kicking moves.
-
So tested Caesar, Magellan and Moria. Moria is nice but nothing for me, two slow and his Chill Move with Doppemann is not so good imo. Magellan is an AOE Beast and very fun to play. And Caesar is awesome, very good Logia with super Moves but all this Effects and Explosions make it diffrent to play him.
-
4 moves isn't 20.
And superimposing base commands that another character does into an NPC to "create" basic moves isn't the same as actually giving them moves that work and flow properly.
I mean 2-5 move in addition to what they already have
I made a list 50 pages ago but here is a video playing Lucci in PW2 where most of his moves are showcased
But don't compare him to Lucci from PW3 because he has more moves than anyone, having a normal and a beast Form
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I will use this mod for sure.
Playing Punk Hazard with Vergo or Jaya arc with Bellamy, i just hope there is TS Bellamy tooYeah CC was kinda awkward, i honestly hadn't much fun with him
-
And look at the video of the hacked characters. They literally only have like, 5 moves. Even that Lucchi video you're so proud of is the same exact moves over and over again. (Lucchi might have a sixth in there? But he was a boss character, not a side NPC)
Nothing to chain with, nothing to build to or altenate with. Just 5 moves. That don't flow in any sort of organic or finished way. They're half done movesets at best.
Lucchi moved fast so he looks like an ordinary player just spamming one set of attacks, but… that isn't a finished set. And you look at the other hacked videos they're even worse, they don't even have a flow between moves.
Sure, if you like hitting just the X button endlessly like everyone claims Musou games are, with absolutely no variation whatsoever I guess that suffices.
-
NPC characters in this game typically have about 5 moves. One long-range, one T-bound and one S-bound, a super and maybe one more outside of generic punches/kicks/swipes. A few of the bosses seem to have more, such as Don Krieg and Arlong. Would be interesting to see if some of the boss moves can be hacked into the playable version, though I doubt it.
