Bluenote, a random and forgettable guy from Grimoire Heart making a random and (presumably) forgettable cameo here, just to be pummeled by Natsu ('cause the loli duo won't be allowed to shine too much, sadly)… how nice.
Apart from that, it's still an enjoyable chapter, after all.
Fairy Tail Discussion III

I knew it was him the moment I saw that ponytail.
You can always count on Mashima not to change hairstyles.
-
I remembered who Bluenote was, though that was mainly due to associating him with the ridiculousness of Gildartz crushing a black hole. (plus, his fate stood out as being quite ambiguous given that the other members of that guild were killed (mostly by Zeref) or turned good; he was just launched off of the island)
-
As soon as she got a human form, Charle suffers the same thing as some other female casts; gravure idol mentality. Too bad Lucy's debut for her dress-up power-up is played as joke. Shame on you, Mashima.
Also, Is it just me or Mashima has gotten really lazier at drawing mooks as of late?
-
I know I didn't need to see up human Charle's skirt. That was a new kind of gross, I'd rather Mashima just stuck to the regular gross 14 year old upskirts instead.
-
Welcome to the Natsu show.
Where only Natsu can do anything, all the time, everytime. Complete with upskirt shots of a 14 year old.
Classic.
True.
Predictable.
Fairy Tail.

@DIO:
i would be really surprised if Hiro did that, but i think his editiors would not allow him to to go that far and it doesn't seem like a usual thing he would do.
You don't think that the same editors who allowed fanservice for a (six-year-old) anthropomorphized cat girl in this very chapter would be alright with a confession of love between two fourteen year old girls? They clearly don't care at all what Mashima does with his characters.
Plus, Wendy never has shown any interest in a male character. She's one of the few FT members without a pairing… unless you count Chelia. I'm thinking that has to be intentional, and it's not the ever-shameless Mashima shying away from it because of her age.
-
I thought she had a tease with Romeo? Unless that was only in the filler(s) arc
-
I figure the next chapter's title is something that Loke says seeing as love is what he spends most of his time talking about.
-
Thank you mashima for splitting the group up for no good reason, having them train seperately, what they could have easily done together, some didn't train at all. Thank you for wasting countless chapters for every member they try to get back on random cheap fodder enemies. All of this is there to prolong this series, serves no real purpose.

there has to be some limit the editors will give to Hiro. but if they let him do that then ok.
also if hiro does that route, you know they will most likely edited it in the anime(and any future games that follow the manga).

Meanwhile, Zeref is still sitting at his castle for one whole fricking year, doing nothing of importance until the heroes are finally gathered and ready to fight him.

Just like Kefka.

Is Wendy also 16?

No, she is 13, but pretty sure we didn't see her upskirt ever. Always been obscured in the way.

Just like Kefka.
Yeah but Kefka was completely insane so it's not great when sane/smart villains are following his strategies
-
No, she is 13, but pretty sure we didn't see her upskirt ever. Always been obscured in the way.
There is a fighting upskirt shot of Carla in the newest chap. And according to the wiki she is 6.

That's 42 in cat years, so it's all good you won't go to jail.
-

Upskirt? Don't remember, but I'm pretty sure that Mashima "presented" us her intergluteal cleft (or, if you prefer, buttcrack) in that (in)famous open bath chapter, with the tree old man and free fanservice for every tastes. And that was one year ago, in FT time, which is even worse. So… there's nothing I can put past him, at this point.
-
Now that Charle can alternate between Standard/Humanoid form like Pantherlily could already achieve, have we reached a stage where we can confirm Happy will be able to do so eventually too?
Since Happy is slightly pathetic when compared to the other 2 Exceed of FT. Luckily for him, Lector and Frosch seem just as pathetic as he is. For now at least.
Even they might've achieved a humanoid form in this year timeskip. Their owners are pretty prestigious since Sting/Rogue are in charge of the guild after all. -
-
Did Kefka even knew they were coming?
He had more than enough time to destroy the world.
And he was just chilling around instead. -
Did (any female character) show (anything usually shown in ecchi manga)?
Forum posts in this thread.

Nothing explicit, but still NSFW either way. Mostly just tasteless partial nudity, or something like that.

Told ya Natsu will wrap this up.
It was kinda silly that someone like Bluenote can now be taken care of by Natsu without breaking a sweat. But Mashima probably has a reason why he buffed him up so much. He won't be fighting any small fries from now on, that's for sure.
-
So much development!
It was really nice to see how much Wendy grew in her time at LS.I´m also glad both Wendy and Chelia got time to show off hers skills vs Bluenote. The fight was really nice and well orchestrated, almost at JJBA´s level.
It was obvious that it had to be Natsu to end it. After all, they was fighting Bluenote. THE Bluenote. The guy that gave us that very memorable fight in Tenrou Island.
I totally knew it was him. Really I did. His character had such a big impact in the series and was totally not taken of Mashima´s ass, unlike certain One Piece characters.Seriously, what a great chapter. I´m glad Mashima isn´t rushing this and it´s taking it´s time to make thing right. This Arc will make sure I never forget all the memorable faces at Lamia´s, like that dude that looks like a cat. And the other guy. And Leon. And Jura, he was there right? And Leon.
10/10 Toriko´s monkey´s mating dance has nothing on this level of feelings.

Jura is part of the Counsil now so wasn't there.
Completely agree with the rest, it was an awesome chapter. Loved Chelia's fan service. -
Oh yeah, they're "friends".
I'll give the chapter this was pretty funny.
-
I don't know why, but I am enjoying the "new" post-all-the-tartarus-crap-Fairy Tail. It's not like the series has increased in quality, but without all the evil big shots around the light-hearted tone just makes the read a lot better. Fairy Tail is at its "best" if it doesn't try that hard, imo.
-
Gray is deaaaaaad!
-
This Chapter was alright, i kinda wished Wendy and Cheila fought the other guys who watched Bluenote get Oneshot by a not full power Natsu.
the conversation between WEndy and Cheila was abit emotional
but i wonder why Juvia went back to Rain Woman Mode.
Gray must have pushed her away(so he doesnt lose her like he did his parents and teacher) to make her sad like that or something else happened between them. -
Yep, a complete and utter pointless filler arc to pad out the series.
-
What if Gray and Juvia had a baby and that child is crying all day?
-
What if Gray and Juvia had a baby and that child is crying all day?
it would have been a recent newborn.
1 year minus 9 months is 3 months
so unless Juvia made it rain due to pregnancy mood swings, i dont think they had a kid.
-
Still, it would be pretty funny.
Has it ever been stated how much time has it been since it started to rain? -

Has it ever been stated how much time has it been since it started to rain?no, but we may figure out when they meet Juvia.
i just hope Gray didnt turn into FT's Version of Vegeta.
-
-
That its pretty much Gajeel.
so who would you consider to be a DB Counterpart for Gray?
-
@DIO:
so who would you consider to be a DB Counterpart for Gray?
Picollo?
Fairy Tail does have more characters that actively contribute each arc compared to DB, so it can be a bit harder in that case.
I do know who the Raditz is though.
-
Man it really feels like Kondasha shows a lot more love towards it's big series than Shueisha does, another colour page and an extra long chapter.
Anyway i liked the chapter, Fairy Tail really is at it's best when it's light hearted and doesn't pretend to have any semblance of a serious plot or actual struggles. It makes the characters actually enjoyable to read about. I hope we never have to fight whatshisface and we just have a bunch of mini arcs for a while.
-
Natsu confirmed he can solo all Tartaros demons in base, all of the Main Cast are gonna be stronger than Gildartz and Prime Makarov.

I agree that FT was always best with short, sporadic stuff. The problem I have with taking these chapters with good heart is knowing that there is already an established story prior. It's worse when there is an established story with no clue of what's supposed to happen. Fine, Natsu took out a dude with just his breath. Problem is he did is easier than the strongest guy from their guild did, and we are expecting things to be impossible for them from here on out. I've tried to go with the idea that FT is not supposed to be taken seriously, but that hasn't helped in any way. If it had stayed like this the whole time, with maybe one or two big arcs with a little seriousness, then that would be fine. Instead of people being concerned about the killer Dragon and Zeref, both capable of destroying the world many times over, we need to take time to get the guild back together.
I can take it better than Bleach at least.
-
By now, Natsu is probably the strongest mage in fairy tail, which is no surprise, considering he's the protagonist of the series, but lucy is still as pathetic as ever.
Granted we didn't see much of her combat capabilities, but i was hoping she would do more than summon spirits and be useless. It's still early days, but everyone is getting left behind by natsu in terms of power levels.
-
Well damn, Bluenote got Worf'd just as quickly as he came in. I get that he had to use someone strong to show how much Natsu leveled up but….surely there was someone else available? This pretty much implies Natsu with one year of training is leagues beyond ol' Gildartz, idk how I feel about that
-
Well, I could understand it, if it wouldn't be the freaking second strongest mage of one of the former strongest dark guilt. :/
-
Well, I could understand it, if it wouldn't be the freaking second strongest mage of one of the former strongest dark guilt. :/
The sad thing is, no one remembers that.
Seriously, I remember re reading through Tenrou´s Arc some time ago, and when BlueNote showed up, my first reaction was "Who the hell was this guy?". The second was "Oh yeah, this guy exists!".
he dude is forgetable like hell. -
I know it's to hype up Natsu's growth, but man, that was anti-climatic battle. Eh, it probably wouldn't take long for Natsu to be beaten up by someone stronger and have to rely on the usual nakama powerup again.
The sad thing is, no one remembers that.

he dude is forgetable like hell. Can't be helped. Not only his design and personality are both bland and forgettable, the way he uses his power is really boring too. He hardly has any selling point as a villain branded with aforementioned badassery.
