that sounds promessing

http://www.tvguide.com/News/Yvette-Nicole-Brown-1087724.aspx Yvette has departed Community.
-
I'm both sad, and kind of not.
She was poorly used last season, so of all the characters to be lost… she has the least amount of damage.
Basic Sandwhich put Jonathan Banks and Shirley on the side-lines, it was almost foreshadowing.
-
To take care of her ailing father.
It's a shame since Yvette really does seem to love the show and always does her best to promote it, but on the other hand I feel the show was running out of things to do with her character anyways. Nor were her character stories that great sans the Jeff/Shirley foosball episode personally.
I'm just hoping she gets a good sendoff, and/or some great cameos near the end of the season.
-
We'll we kind of knew either her or Alison Brie was going to leave the show. Between them getting new gigs on new shows, they were both the least happy about the last minute renewal. Both her and Alison didn't talk about Community when it got renewed. They were very vocal for the Six Season and a Movie campaign… til it got renewed.
Yvettes attitude towards Community change too. It might be reading too much into it, but when Yvette did address the renewel her tone of how she talked about the show shifted. Before it was "our" (her and our) show and then it became "your" (us) show. I think her tweet was along the lines of "Congrats you got your Six Season."
I'm honestly a bit scared Alison will be gone next.
-
Yevette is now a series regular on the Multicam show. Reporting that on Community she had an 80 hour work week, and now will have a 20 hour work week.
Additionally, Dan Harmon has stated on a Nerdist Podcast that Season 6 will premiere in Jan.

Cast update!

COMMUNITY IS BACK MARCH 17TH! https://screen.yahoo.com/community-cast-announces-season-6-162500604.html
-
Cool. I've been watching the series for the past month (starting Season 5 soon), so I'm happy to see I won't have to wait too long after finishing that for Season 6.
-
I was really hoping for Jan, but SOON!
Season 6 should be exciting. Its got a bigger budget than it had before, its got new talent with a cast change up. Should be interesting at the very least.
I hope the show can try and do what they wanted to take the show early Season 5.
-
Got addicted to this series, I hope that the sixth season will be awesome enough so everybody will remember how good it was.
Btw I enjoyed it way more than the last 3 The Bing Bang Theory seasons. Not comparing (even though both series have the same nerdish background which I love) but I was getting tired of waiting good episodes from TBBT.

Community Season 6 Trailer
-
Keith David being in season 6 is so great
too great almost, I'll just end up missing him like how I'll miss Jonathan Banks, too bad they had to cut that whole plot line with him and Abed (eat shit NBC) -
Fantastic. I'm hyped.
"And Jesus wept…"
-
I still have a few episodes left to watch in Season 5 (rationed them since I knew the release date), but I'll definitely be catching up for this. The trailer looks great!
-
I enjoyed that a lot.
-
YASSSS! Thank you for posting. Couldn't view the Yahoo version from where I'm at. Looking forward to it! But it is sad not seeing Shirley. At least we have a new "Shirley" to make up for it. Lol.
-
Five minutes until season six premieres!

–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Incredible start to the season.
-
Both episodes' end tags were some of the greatest things this show has ever done.
-
Well Jesus wept.
I really enjoyed the episodes. Though I do think it might be a bit of a stretch of;
! Shirley leaving her shop to a pot smoking sex crazed anarchist / Britta.
-
How is this show still so good :O I dunno why I was so down on it after liking S5 so much but man I really laughed a lot during those new episodes.
-
The "we're sorry" montage was golden. So far so good.

That's what made me laugh the most out of both the episodes. Great stuff.

@Nex:

Definitely was a callback to Spanish 101.
-
New season of Community ? Time to get caught up with the series .
-
Nice. Glad to hear that Season 6 is off to a strong start. I wanted to watch the premiere last night but sleep got the better of me. Tonight, for sure!
-
Lots of references, most of them slipped through my mind :/
I know that Donald Glover left the show but I'd love to see "Troy and Abed in the mooorning" once again in this final season.
-
*Potential final season.
-
This episode was overall pretty weak. I like Frankie and Elroy though, but the main plot was pretty lame. Annie's reaction didn't make much sense at all. Here's hoping this is just a clunker and not the overall direction of season 6.
-
I really didn't like the first two episodes of this (especially the second episode which was just Dean and Britta making funny faces and hand gestures for thirty minutes) so this does not bode well for me this week…
-
I'm really kind of bummed that this is the 100th episode of the show. Usually shows like this would do something to celebrate it, but this just was a very week episode. It did have some stronger highs for me than previous two epsiodes, namely Vicki and Dave's part and Elroy is just hilarious to me. But as a whole the episode wans't anything special.
In fact it felt a little backwards like a season 1 episode. Don't get me wrong the grounded relationshipy style of Season 1 is my favorite, but this was done in a bad way. Annie threatening to leaving Greendale after she graduated once already feels a little… backwards? Keeping in mind that Abed, Britta, and Annie are there getting a SECOND degree so they don't really NEED Greendale. Additionally Annie's has tried to leave Greendale at least twice already.
Also is Jeff a good guy lawyer now or not?
-
Wow, this episode really sucked. Woof. The stakes were never lower than threatening to leave college over a fucking dog.
-
I wasn't a huge fan of the first two episodes. There was too much self-referential humor and and awareness of the huge transition that had just taken place. I didn't laugh a lot. It reminded me a lot of Season 4. But this episode felt solid to me, like a return to good community. And Frankie and Elroy fit in nicely. I do think Annie threatening to transfer and the ad they created to appease her were kind of silly and not in a Greendale way but in a "really?" kind of way. But I thought the jokes were great and the episode had good momentum. Not a great episode but it's closer to what I was hoping for from this season.
I have loved each of the before credit scenes though. The Shirley one was top notch and this one was also great.
-
I feel like this episode was an improvement over the previous one. The Chang and Annie plot was sufficiently fun, while Abed and Elroy was good. It's nice to explore characters through Abed and this didn't disappoint too much. The dean plot was interesting, and I loved the "is she?" sight gag between Jeff and the Dean. My only gripe is with the way Britta's been consistently sidelined.
-
Well to be fair, Season 5 Britta has been kind of terrible as seen in Episode 2, so sidelined is kind of fine with me at this point.
-
Oh god, I just realized how absolutely delightful that IT Lady gag was handled.
-
That was great. Even chang was used really well. I think my favorite part was Elroy's bird killing speech. He reminds me of the funniest parts of pierce's character but without the meanness. I also feel like the message it was trying to deliver was told very well through the story instead of a monologue. The Dean was really the star.
-
The direction of how Community is going because of all the cast changes, the Dean should be the main character. Since the show is becoming more and more about the school and less less about the study group. Hell outside of Jeff who needed the job, none of the study group even needs to be at Greendale. You can even see with Shirley leaving so easily they don't need to be there.
That was the biggest problem with the 100th episode, was the fact that Annie threatening to leave was such a low stake thing. But if the rest of the season is like this episode we're set.
-
-
Oh I do hope they plan in making more of those, that was awesome.
-
After all that happened to the series so far I'm glad the producers are doing the best they can, even if it isn't as satisfying as it could be.
-
-
Is something up with the sound editing this season or something? Like, the background sounds awkwardly silent.
-
I swear I've head the "GayDean" song before…
-
I believe this weeks episode to be the strongest of the set.
-
Are you still working on the show, Silver?
-
These last two episodes have been great.
