Persona 5 and 4: Dancing interview: http://gematsu.com/2015/03/japanese-persona-magazine-interviews-atlus-staff-persona-5-dancing-all-night
The game’s themes have been described to be “picaresque” in nature. Could you elaborate on that a little more?
Hashino: If there’s one thing that lies at the center of our themes in the game, it’s the notion people have that there are things that they want to do with their lives but can’t actually realize for one reason or another. They’ve got something circumstantial holding them back or maybe it’s even just the rational half of their brain. Something along those lines. I feel as though people like that often tend to take well to thief and heist stories because they get a certain thrill from them that resonates with them in ways they can’t necessarily get out of other stuff. One of the goals in making Persona 5, then, is to give those people an outlet to explore those thrills and experience that sense of freedom that the protagonists themselves have within the context of a game. Although that being said, I won’t deny that a lot of us were also just way into stories about good-natured thieves like Lupin III growing up, too. (Laughs.)
Well, that last part definitely just adds to the hype.

Subs for the second Persona 3 movie have come out, here's the best part: http://a.pomf.se/obawnq.webm

Instant Meme there lol.

Mass Destruction is my intense life moment theme, too.

Shinjiro is looking mighty…...soft.

Looks like Dancing All Night is getting a special edition, or aka Disco Fever edition.
Don't always pay for the special edition (Persona Q bit me in the ass, as I thought it came with a bigger soundtrack, instead just a few tracks). This one comes with a 2 CD sound track (which if the few songs are to go by, I would love to just listen to them), the DLC would be nice, and the Vita pouch would go along nicely with my Persona Q 3DS holder. I've never played a rhythm game before, but my God I want this game.
Also, while not Persona, Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker was awesome.

Wow, I just found out about Persona x Detective, and Naoto's redesign is really cool:

Here's a new one.

That is one messed up kid.

The way this trailer didn't leak yet and instead we've got so many screenscaps that we could almost remake the trailer from that(kappa), it feels like an atlus troll. Like srsly wtf….
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
Ok guys sanity rescued

Igor pal, your nose got smaller.
-
that vid got taken down so here's a mirror before it gets taken down
-
Watching the thing a few times I wonder if ripping up shadow masks to make the persona appear is an actual mechanic.
-
The delay was to be expected really, but damn this trailer looked good
-
Holy fucking shit. My hype meter is about to explode. I want this game now.
No, scratch that. I NEED this game.
I think I'll skip any more trailers, it's spoiling so much awesome stuff. Martial arts training? Awesome effects and designs? Travelling through paintings? Infiltrating the dungeons?
And it has that thing Personas were missing that SMT 3 and DDS had: distinct and unique looking dungeons. That ¿spaceship? look alike place. . .just.Give.Me.This.Game.
Edit: Obviously, with all the excitement I didn't see that it is indeed delayed till summer 2016, which I guess means us poor europeans will see it early 2017, late 2016 if we're uber mega lucky. Shit. . .
. . .goddammit.
-
Well shit it's looks like this game will have a big open area to explore when not dungeon crawling and actual meaningful things to do…...though rain storms better not have no impact on completing the social links.
-
And mini games. It might be a little meaningless thing, but seriously, if there's one thing I thought hurt Persona 4 (and 3) is how you never engage in any activity. Seeing the wing chun training and the baseball mini game puts a huge smile to my face.
And the production and art designers need a medal.
-
A Pirate Persona? Yes, please!

I wouldn't say playing crane games, watching movies, visiting a cafe or restaurant, & fishing weren't activities…....just they were mostly meaningless, boring, & made you waste time because you need this much "courage" in order to move your friendly relationship to the next level. Which you'll have to wait to do because you and your friend from the Soccer Club can't hang out the week before testing.....or when it rains.

Fix'd to make it more accurate :ninja:

World makes sense again I was wondering about how they could still release it in 2015. I mean I was writing it off as just Atlus being Atlus.
Trailer is cool. Game seems way bigger than I thought it would be. -
The trailer was so good I'm not even that upset about the delay. I'm also already really enjoying Morgana as a mascot already.
-
I can maybe confirm 2 clubs. The anime scene with the castle has 3 banners that read.
"Let's aim for national domination!"
"Goal - The best symphonic orchestra in all of Japan"
"Goal - Debut in the district competition of the volleyball team" -
Posting this mostly for what I assume is the battle ost?/PV3 music looped. Taken from the persona 5 stream.
-
Info about the characters.
Skull Mask Pirate is named Ryuji Sakamoto and he is a problem child.
Red Mask Girl is An Takamaki and she has rumours around her and she isolates from the rest.
The cat is Morganna and she is female. Which is weird since her persona is manly.

An's also 1/4 American. As for Morgana, I don't think her gender's actually been specified with the pronouns being more along the lines of 'it'. It has more to do with the fact that her name is feminine.
-
Opening thing with vocals and like maybe about a 1 second of new opening animation footage. -
Altus took down the translated trailers that I was about to see, but here's an analysis. Didn't want to wait for gamexplain this time.

ign also did one. Man if I weren't so lazy I would probably do one 2 I do have a few things that nobody really seems to have shared/noticed yet.
Oh well if I get the time a post with pictures maybe. -
The Persona names have been leaked.
Ryuji: Captain Kidd
Morgana: Zoro
Anne: CarmenBlue haired guy is named Yusuke Kitagawa and his Persona is Goemon.
-
Why is there 2 One Piece characters in this game?:ninja:
-
Hmmm now I'm curious whether Atlus will keep it as Zoro or retranslate it as Zorro or…go with something different to avoid potential copyright?
-

Hmmm so some of them are thief based…...now I'm expecting someone to be sporting a Robin Hood themed persona.
-
The glove color scheme seems to hold up(where every character so far wore gloves corresponding to the associated color of a sin).
Yusuke's glove color is light blue, which corresponds to sloth.
We're missing envy(green) and gluttony(orange) now. The jury is out on Cavum and Irritum. Also the boss demon in the trailer spiking that volleyball kind of confirms that the volleyball club is part of the main story, with probably a good chance of unlocking a social link(or whatever the new system is) after that stuff is resolved.
-
I still want the shadow enemies to come back, I like their unified theme of masks and blobs more than the free for all that the demons/personas bring.
I like the idea of a 7 person team, but the likehood of a mission control specialist its pretty high. Who are the main team's sins?
The cat was lust, and the Mc should be pride. So Anne and the dude are wrath and greed then? What have you pegged them as?

If we go by glove color
Mc = wrath,
Ryuji = greed,
Anne = vanity/pride,
Morgana = lust.Shadows are in the game. There seems to be a kind of mask ripping mechanic that reveals the demons(you could see it the best in pv2).
There is at least another female party member confirmed(pv3 at the very beginning if you listen closely you can hear her voice, it's easy to write it off as Anne's voice but it's different).Personally I feel like 7 is somewhat an odd number to have for an RPG where you have a max active party of 4. Feels like 8 is somewhat more suitable.
Maybe either Cavum/Irritum could be related to the main antagonist. -
What interpretation of Seven Sins they are doing anyway?
The classic one? (Wrath, Lust, Greed, Sloth, Envy, Pride and Gluttony.) -
What interpretation of Seven Sins they are doing anyway?
The classic one? (Wrath, Lust, Greed, Sloth, Envy, Pride and Gluttony.)Those are at least part of it if we go by the words that appeared in pv1.
The only unusual thing is the addition of cavum and irritum, we don't really know if those are meant to be counted as sins or if they will take on a different meaning.
–-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------All shown activities and some guesses on what they could be:
Baseball icon. Very likely it's the mini game shown in the trailer.
Bread icon. This shows up in the school. Maybe it's going to be similar to the P3 school vendor.
???. I have no idea what this could be. Maybe some kind of camera?
Coffee icon. Maybe the same as in P4G to extract Persona skill cards.
Cups icon. Feels a bit redundant to the coffee icon no idea for what it could be. Maybe a place to raise your charisma like the P3 one?
Cocktail icon. Yep again no idea lot's of drink icons.
Flower icon. No real guesses again. Maybe you have to make flower arrangements there to raise your diligence.
Hachiko icon. This thing shows up at Shibuya station so it has to be related to Hachiko or is a reference to it. No idea about its function though.
Recycling icon. One of the videos guessed that's where you sell your junk to expand the weapon inventory. I personally don't think that's the case assuming the mechanic stays the same. It would just raise the tedium for no reason. On the other hand it could mean that the equipment unlock mechanic has been expanded to warrant this.
Sword and shield icon? No idea this thing shows up in school to make it even more confusing.
Shopping bag icon? To me it looks like that. But not sure.
Vending machine icon? This thing shows up a lot in most of the shown city locations.
Movie icon. Probably the same as in P4G to improve relationships. I hope it's better implemented though. Didn't really use it in P4G was just a time waste.
Clinic icon. This very likely the icon to the Takemi Tae medical clinic.
Dart icon. In one of the analysis videos it's suggested that it could be your home base. But yeah that's a guess as good as any nothing to really go on here.We also have a videogame minigame.

The theory I've heard uses eye color when using persona, and has
MC-Wrath
Ryuji-Greed
Anne-Envy
Morgana-Sloth
and
5th guy-PrideI've read that one but I don't really know how they've concluded Morgana and Yusuke since their opening scenes with their eyes color change are missing.
I mean if you're generous you could say Morgana has a scene where her outer iris looks kind of orange making her gluttony.
But really beyond Anne, Ryuji and MC nothing is clearly shown.
A version of the opening with the new bits cut in for comparison. In the one scene where you can somewhat make out Yusuke's eyes they're more greyish. But in general I could see that fitting too depends really on what the full opening looks like. -

That's inconsistent taking their real eye color just when it suits the theory.
Ryuji's real eye color isn't yellow(brown), neither is Anne's real eye color green(opaque blue), same thing for the MC(grey).
I need the source on Yusuke I've not seen anything about him with purple.
Like I said we need the full opening to see if it works out.

Interesting Famitsu leak, seems like there is no main antagonist this time around.

http://imgur.com/a/7qpl2 Famitsu scans with some new pics and maybe some new info although most of it might already been leaked.
We can see the volleyball demon pre transformation in one of the pics.
