! It seems it might be even bigger than that when Shiroe and Akatsuki die, while theyre waiting to respawn it seems like they're on what was originally another server which is located on the moon

I gotta say. Log Horizon definitely brings up issues I haven't thought of when dealing with people that are basically immortal. Offering up memories in order to return. I think if I had the choice. I'd offer up my memory for immortality. As long as I'm not going to go into full blank slate mode frim dying too often.

Hoooooly crap this show is getting better and better. I kinda wish I had the light novels.

The 'Girl power' arc has been going on for a while now and I hope it's coming to a close next episode. I'm just really not enjoying it. Everyone is just so open and friendly to each other that it just feels a bit odd.
-
Oof, finally caught up to the latest episode. Yay for another raid! But what will become of Krusty? Will we ever see him again this season ;-;?
@Black:Everyone is just so open and friendly to each other that it just feels a bit odd.
I guess they had to cut some minor characters' interaction and let us assume that they do get along off-screen.

To anyone who is savvy on this kind of information: do you know when the next volume comes out?

I'm not certain of the difference, but the last volume I read was number 7 the gold of the kunie

Is there a difference between print volume 8 and the web novel version? also are either translated yet?
-
The printed books have slight differences, but mostly the same.
They do come with tons of artwork and supplementary background information that's very useful.
I don't know about translations. -
Gutted we never got to see more of the raid.
-
The raid encounter seemed quite interesting but I think we will get to see them have another go at it next time?
-
Damn, that was brutal annihilation. I wonder how it's gonna be solved. Also, it's good to finally see what has been inside Shiroe's mind this whole time.
Akiba Raid last episode was wrapped nicely too. Akatsuki's character has grown up a little as result. :D

That's easy, we got a hint in this episode. You need to split the teams down. A single team for taking on the knight and the other two teams have to prevent the other raid bosses from entering.
-
I think there's gonna be something in "Lore" of this world that they can use, everything has/should have a weak spot, or, there should be some mechanics that allows you to kill a boss easily. Like, secret weapon hidden somewhere there and you need to find it and figure out. something that required a lot of thinking.

I'd prefer it if they didn't use a cheap hack but rather overcome it with great skill.
-
Yes, no matter how complicated and cheap, videogame AI still acts in ways you can predict and plan against. I've read about how there was this crazy Dragon boss in Everquest, literally designed to be unbeatable, but a guild cooked up a large scale strategy to defeat it.
Just so happens that they have a certain "villain with glasses" on their side.

From the looks of it, it's unlikely that the other two can be prevented from entering except you send a small parties to their respective areas for the sake of stalling, which is risky and has higher chance of failing. I mean, who knows if there are yet another bosses ready to assist Luseat when the current two are preoccupied.

It's implied by Krusty that some of the monsters in have gained intelligence too just like Landers that cease to be mere NPC, albeit possibly the non-trash mobs ones. Bosses could assist each other could be due that they are not only intelligent, but also not completely bound by what adventurers know as game mechanics.
Maybe I'm over-analyzing it, but it appears to me that Luseat abused his invincibility frame to negate aggro skills and even lets himself to be harmed so he can summon his crones, ultimately stalled the battle long enough for the other two bosses to arrive.

All three of the bosses are meant to be fought with a full 24man raid.
They'll have to use some clever thinking and not just game skills.Obviously, when the bosses are basically going "f*** the rules", you're going to have to counter exploits with exploits of your own.
And video game players are far more experienced with exploits than these monsters. What Shiroe should have expected is, if the NPCs became sentient, there's no reason why monsters can't.
We saw a glimpse of that when Krusty and Misa discovered remains of goblin training camps.I personally can't wait to see Ga-tan animated.

As long as it's not a secret/hidden weapon, I'll be fine with that.
-
As long as it's not as lame as that hammer from SAO I'm ok with it.
-
I had the feeling the whole speech in episode 10 wanted to justify that beeing a hikikomori is a good thing and you should not be ashamed of lacking social skills. Yeah, ok…
-
Yeah, at first I was fine with it because it felt like it was "I found a place to belong" speech, but by the end it really felt like that and I'm not big on that either.
-
It didn't need to be so long. It should've been half an episode at the most.
-
it was like a filler episode. postponing most anticipated stuff for future episode. easy marketing, why not. Log Horizon is good, I can look over an episode likes. pretend like today that had a break or something.
also, I felt more like this episode was about the problem of being a gamer. society looks upon it like an utter waste of time, and some even say more "productive" hobbies are better. well, no thanks I better have fun than try to fit in with most of people.
when you say out loudly that you are a gamer and you don't regret spending so many hours raiding last night, people look at you with…. a little(or much) less respect.... they forget that hobby is about enjoying what you are doing. I think this episode was more about that (or should have been.)still... there were phrases that made me remember my young self XD anti-social playing games day night. lol.
-
At least we get to know better about one of the key character in this arc. I didn't think it'd take that long either, though. Maybe it's to balance out the elapsed time Shiroe had spent in the other side last week.

Dunno, but William doesn't seem like a complete shut-in that refuses to even interact with others. He lacks social skills alright, but he learns how to deal with people little by little through his gaming activity.

It seems to me the whole purpose of this episode was to make gamers to feel better about their non-exitent social life. Ironically one of the reason for their lack of social skills "GAMING" is now the remedy for their psychological composition. That is akward.
I did like the episode, more precisely the vibe and the atmosphere of it, but the content of the speech is more than questionable -
I liked William's speech. I had the same issue of being told that games were a lame hobby or that I'm not social. Sure I'm social, but through a different medium. I'm glad we did get to know more about him, maybe not a full episode but eh, as long as things start picking up again I'm overall okay with it. Fleshes him out and doesn't make him just the Log Horizon Legolas.

Still waiting for this season to actually get good. I've been pretty disappointed with season 2, though I do partially blame Deen for the crappy animation. I want to see some more raid bosses and have them explain what is happening with the flavour text but the pacing is so slow, it almost feels like I'm watching One Piece. Okay maybe not that bad but still when are they gonna get to the fireworks factory?

What's wrong with One Piece?

I'm pretty sure William's speech isn't about that. He's trying to say that playing game is his hobby and what's wrong with investing time in a hobby? If you like what you're doing, then it is not wasted time. His speech does resonate with what I feel as a gamer. I like playing games. What's wrong with investing time in gaming if you enjoy doing it?

I rwwatched the whole thing and that's probably what it's actually going for. People can have whatever hobbies they want and shouldn't be looked down on because of that. The focus isn't really on being a shut-in and how awesome that is, it's that they love their hobby and you shouldn't give it up because of prejudices.
-
The point of the speech is, that value or importance of anything is subjective, and you and you alone can decide what worth of something is for yourself, not anyone else.

It dragged on so long that I honestly tuned out. Silver Sword don't command an amount of attention that I'd sit through such lengthy dialogue.
-
Good episode today. Loved seeing them use their smarts as they did, though raid bosses damaging themselves, what the fuck?!? Love seeing Shiroe lead the raid and be a super organiser.
-
I think since this game turned into some kind of reality, not only people of land gained more intelligence, so did monsters and raid bosses too. Attack patterns and stuff like that will only be left to less intelligent monsters like those plant-things, most of others thou, will get harder and harder to kill.
Also, I think Kunie will just hand over gold or something like that xD they won't fight him, or that's what I think.

Ga-tan incoming in two or so episodes.
-
Probably the best episode so far. Demigas is the MVP.
-
I've never started this serie because I was already bored with SAO. Ohohoho! What a big mistake!
I love Log Horizon, so many fun characters and great adventures!
Now that he defeated the dungeon, I wonder what awaits Shiroe. Looks like the adventurers from Minami are about to make their move.
Also, I hope we get to know what happened to Crusty. -
Shiroeeeee confess your looooveeeee
-
When are the new episodes released ?
-
tomorrow. I think there's like, 18~ hours left
-
Cool thank you. I will watch it with my weekly Fate Stay/Night.
Until then…Durarara! -
Next episode from last week, just watched it.
! Kazuhiko was in the Tea Party right? Along with another Minami guy that accidentally became the Tea Party's leader's horse (forgot his name)?

Yes, and so was Indicus.
There are actually three Tea Party members there. Kazuhiko, KR, and Indicus. -
Indicus (Intix?) is a real bitch. I hope she gets smacked soon by Shiroe.
