I'm gonna miss the I am the Doctor/Madman with a Box themes.
Picked up on a new tune that's probably going to be the new one's theme, it was allright.
It was Matt's theme. It don't think it fits Capaldi.
On the other hand, I think the incidental music was brilliant and felt very fresh. I didn't really notice the "I am the Doctor" theme until I'd heard it a few times, so it might stand out more before the end. But then I never noticed any themes for any previous doctors, so I don't think it matters.
Clara picked up some bitch points from Rose. Not a fan. Hopefully that's dealt with and done now. Sadly, it felt like a lot of the Clara stuff really was proxy for fangirls complaining about the new guy being too old and saying "Hey, give him a chance!"
No idea what you mean. As a not-Rose fan myself, I thought they just actually gave Clara some personality and depth. She was wasn't being bitchy. She was being pushed to her limits.
Either just make a full spinoff with the London characters or move on already. I like them but seeing them every fourth episode loses a little something. Vastra and Strax were both good as usual… but Jenny was pretty awful cardboard... unless she and Vastra were married like two weeks ago she's pushing the "we're maaaaaried" bit too far. Only newlyweds point that out so often.
I'm pretty sure this is the only episode they're in for the season.
That is the point. A lot of people including me rushed to read the script and overwhelming majority loved the script. Then same people rushed to see the episode, and again praises everywhere, "come back Moffat all is forgiven". Then actual episode comes out and suddenly it's mediocre. All that, while all those flaws like Jenny being Jenny were in workprint. Apparently, one cartoon sound effect overweights everything that was good.
…80% of this fanbase consists of Clara's splinters.
Different people, different opinions. It's always going to be like that. The overall impressions I've seen so far with fan communities and the press is positive.
