Tower of god

6 week break until next season. He was talking about there being more arcs to come before s3 so SIU probably just cut the season early to take an early hiatus.
-
Credit: RWF
Note at end:
SIU will take 6+ weeks long rest until next season.
! Rachel greets Cassano and Traveler. Saying she was worried something happened at Archi because he was being late.
! Cassano says the work happened without much incident. He could not bring a companion though.
! Traveler feels 'something dangerous' from the girl. (Rachel)
! Micheal asks Cassano to show them 'the object' so they can confirm.
! He does.
! Seeing that, Rachel thanks him for hard work. And announce they will go to save this Tower.
! 3 days after at Resort.
! The casts are getting alnog. (Prince says he knows Quant because he was successful Ranker making lots of CF. lol Reminder- He was tricked by YHS over his merchandise right.)
! Koon says it would be shame to divide now. And asks if Baam is ok with it.
! Baam answers they can meet up later, when they become D-rank and grow stronger.
! Rak agrees. Though he wants to leave the useless Blue Turtle who have done nothing but used power of some items behind.
! After watching them playfully fight, Baam asks when would Urek come.
! He won't. Koon replies. Unreliable source (Hatchuling) said he made some huge mistake above Floor and can't come now. He is a bit disappointed.
! Is Urek so great person? Is what Baam is curious.
! Koon says of course he is. Even his father has agreed that guy is strong. It could be bad idea to meet him, to be honest, even with the Wingtree mark Leesoo gave him. Why does Baam want to meet him anyway?
! Baam answers he became curious about 'outside.'! Goseng comes to the trio and says they must know about this.
! Hoyang is in coma.
! Sophia explains it is because he lost his part of demon.
! To the people who are shocked Cassano now has two demons, Beta comes in and corrects it is 'One full demon' actually. It would be even stronger then 'Unstable may demons' himself had. Cassano must got very developed technology somewhere.
! Wangnan says this news is only known to people in that room. (Beta/Sophia/Wangnag/Goseng/Baam/Koon/Rak) And Goseng would stay with Horyang to take care of him. But they must find Cassano if they want to bring Horyang back.
! Beta adds using Emile would be impossible since it has been out of order for some days now. Must be Cassano.
! Sohpia reveals Emile is actually an 'Ignition weapon', which has been contained by hypnosis to believe she was a human. But now that protection is gone, that child can 'Ignite', perhaps causing huge disaster.
! Sometime later, after discussing the situation, Baam says they must ask her now.
! Wharyun says why smelly boys have come to see her at once.
! Baam starts to answer, but she cuts it off. She says she won't show them the way because she has no reason to help those who locked her in when she helped them.
! Koon offers a deal. If she helps them find Cassano, she may come along with them. That is what she planned all along anyway, is it not?
! She agrees. At 35th Floor, there is 'Train of Hell' going to 43th Floor straight up. The difficulty leaves only few survivors, if any. But it will bring them to the 'Floor that is hidden'. They can meet Cassano there.
! Wangnan notices it would take long time to get there.
! A year and half is Koon's calculation, if they go as fast as possible. Horyang must hold on until then.
! After Wangnan shouting they will do their best, they leave. (Wangnan calls Wharyun as Ryun-chan. WTH?)
! But Wharyun calls out Viole. And says he looks happy, just like Ha Jinsung ajussi wanted. He sent Viole a message. Grow stronger to protect his happiness. Something so big that at current power, he can not win against is coming.
! Next day, the Leesoo team leaves quite loudly.
! Meanwhile Wharyun reads some magerzine that is gossiping about mysteries of E-Rank Gongbang Tournamet.
! She thinks the issue has been tied up.
! But a new story will begin soon.
! Rachel Team is shown going somewhere.
! 'She' is someone not even Guides can control.
! Like him, being the most irregular beings of Tower.
! They are ones who can change the Tower.
! If he stands before her again,
! then what would Baam choose? This is what i get is coming soon:
So there's the capturing of cassano and one of his demon ignitions
The whole Princess scenario
WingTree, Rachel Movement and Karaka's plot
Plus whatever happened at the top to make Urek not come down
43rd Floor is soon
Wonderful arc coming up soon
-
In one of the wider panels, you get to see Hwa Ryun's red eyelashes sticking out from behind the bridge of her nose. I thought that was a nice touch, SIU.
And, now I know from the third to last panel, SIU always draws Rachel's freckles in on close up shots. I should have known that Beta wasn't Rachel back then for that reason alone.
Damn, SIU. Give your "normal looking" characters a little more variety, why don't ya?!
-
That was a pretty good and satisfying end for Season 2.
And just 6 weeks of hiatus? Many probably expected something far longer. I'm a bit worried about SIU healing his injuries properly (and getting enough time to plan a more interesting arc again), especially with him already talking about cutting his break short.

Technically he said 6+ weeks, so it can go longer. Depending on the wrist surgery, that seems about right if it's a 6-10 week time frame.
-
It's really sad to see a hiatus from this author but if it helps them in the long run, then please!
Loved the chapter today, just finished it. Set up a lot of things for the future, Mazino running amok, Bitch Rachel being a bitch, kind of a weak reason to ride the the hell train but ah well, the missing floor is the goal, We may or may not see a missing princess up there with two month series, And most importantly, Baam got a hair cut! now he can look 9 again! :'D
-
It's planned for 6+ weeks but if he is getting the surgery it might take even longer for rehabilitation. The downside now with next arc being the start of season 3 is we might get a timeskip to around the point when they are about to board the train. I was expecting some build up to the 35 floor since there was supposed to be more arcs before season 2 ended like the D rank test. Now I'm actually expecting a timeskip to happen.
-
Honestly I expected a time skip to happen a while back, not as big a jump like season 1 to 2, but even the author stated we'll see a new floor so I'm thinking they'll have either finished up the floor test to board the train or they'll be talking about the floor test they just past as they board the train.Either way I dont' think it's a bad thing that a time skip may happen, The climax of the last arc for me at least surpassed all the small time battles they've had in the past. With the powerful characters and rankers that showed up and battled it out, it would seem almost unnecessary to do a floor test that wouldn't compare to what just happened. Like a filler arc almost.
-
Does anyone know if SIU is going to start writing blog posts as he always does, or tell side stories/whatever?
-
I guess this was a nice wrap up but I'm puzzled by this scene
! Are the two red heads related or did I miss something?
-
They're both from the Blitz family. I guess Quant being a ranker makes him pretty damn famous. Plus, he has his image plastered over the whole Tower even if his royalties are going to Yu Han Sung.
-
Yeah he's pretty famous–-Quant films, punching machines, food, candy, etc. Who doesn't want to punch/bite Quant's face off? Hahaha.
-
Ahh, I just checked it from the wiki. I don't remember Quant having a last name, or maniacal fire abilities but it has been sometime since I read the first season. I knew it was a bad idea to skip the SIU blogposts.
-
Kind of a random question. What position is Ja Wangnan? I have been looking everywhere and can't seem to find it, so I am hoping it was never stated by SIU.

I think about the Rachel panel you're talking about, I'm sure there's some kind of greater scheme being hinting at but at the end of the day it's just Rachel satisfying her obsession with having to be the "hero of the story", she has a great destiny in store for her she just has to manipulate and murder all our protagonists in the most psychotic ways to access it.

It was never stated. He has a reel inventory though so he's most likely a fisherman.

I dunno, with those Pokeballs he could just as well be some kind of spear bearer or even a really shitty wave controller.

I don't disagree with you but I was not puzzled by the top half of the scene, just the bottom half.

taken from Batoto,
The chat between SIU and fans:
Jinsung and Maschenny are both in top 100.
Yihwa has stronger potential than Horyang (But Horyang will win if they fight right now)
Baam+Androssi team will break the balance.
Maschenney is a fisherman (but she is better as a spearbearer).
Hatsu will get a sword later.
Thorn cannot talk.
Jinsung is a fisherman.
Hwa Ryun and Evan do not know each other.
Prince's score in the punch comeptition was not modified.
Baam's "stop" ability is like cheating.
-
Nothing really interesting besides Jinsung being really damn good.
I wonder who asked these questions.
-
I still wonder why Ha Jinsung didn't become a Slayer. Considering he's also a member of one of the 10 Families, let alone his strength, it would ad insult to injury for the Zahard faction.
-

Maybe he's not fully satisfied or all for the FUG agenda. I felt that he was satisfied with just sitting back and training other guys to do the work.

Maybe he has already reached his full potential, and probably isn't going to get any stronger.

Well for FUG, the only thing they seem to be with is the bottom-line: Killing Zahard. Every Slayer seems to have their own faction, and they're merely joined together for a common cause. For example, even though Grace Mirchea is Slayer #1 and "the living God" of FUG, he didn't interfere with, nor punished, Karaka for messing up the Workshop Battle and trying to kill Baam (their only hope of killing Zahard). Also based on the flashback chapters, Ha Jinsung is all for FUG killing off Zahard and using Baam to do it.
Maybe he has already reached his full potential, and probably isn't going to get any stronger.
I don't think that has anything to do with becoming a Slayer. Considering he's a High Ranker (top 100), he's much stronger than Karaka.
-

Sorry, what I meant was, maybe he's not happy with the methods or how FUG is going about to bring the end result. Kinda like what you said about the different slayer factions and stuff. Also, like what UnDeadFailure said, maybe he realized there's so much he can do on his own because Zahard can't be killed by a non-irregular and is surrounded by many stronger rankers so maybe that's why he's so proud of Baam. He didn't strike me as a go-getter, more like a behind the scenes guy. Just my opinion.

I'm saying Karaka's potential is probably higher than his. Right now Karaka may be weaker then him, but his strength will continue to grow and eventually he will be stronger, but Jinsung will not get stronger than he is currently since he has already(maybe) reached his full potential.
-

Thats pure speculation. There is really not much indicating if Jinsung has reached his full potential or not. Of course you are probably right, but we dont know enough.
And if all full-grown Slayers are Top100 High Rankers, that would give FUG a tremendous amount of power: There are 7 of them active (and there could be up to 11) + Mirchea + other powerhouses like Augusgus and Jinsung.(Why did noone asked questions like that, when they had the opportunity to talk to SIU: Are the other Slayers normally Top100? Is Jinsung the strongest non-Slayer member of FUG? How much of his full potential has Karaka reached? Can we have some more names and information about Top High Rankers? Why was the last arc so bad? Instead we get information about the Thorn not being able to talk. Great)

None of the Slayers in FUG are irregulars who can kill Zahard. The only thing they can do is cause problems and "corrupt" people. Slayers are just heroes ("gods") for the weak, disgruntled members who are too weak/useless to do anything about Zahard's hegemony. That being said, Ha Jinsung is one of the strongest members of FUG. Considering there are still 4 Slayer spots open, Jinsung would be an ideal candidate: he's incredibly strong (one of FUG's strongest), a former member of the Ha family, and trained 2 Slayer candidates (with Karaka becoming a full-fledged Slayer).

Potential is arbitrary and a weak argument. We don't know how it works in their world. The potential of a Slayer is also pointless considering they can't kill Zahard no matter how hard they try given they are regulars.

@ bold Yes, but they still need to be able to kill the family heads, including some of the princesses who just might be equal or greater to some of the family heads.
About potential, I don't see how it's weak, To me it is not far fetched to say that some people have limits to their ability, since that is sort one one of the themes of the tower, as people climb, a lot of them reach their limit and have to stop, and I can see his being applied to rankers as well, they will eventually reach a point where they can't get much stronger.
But yeah, I'm just suggesting it as a possibility, I'm not saying Jinsung has reached his limit.

I've been wondering for so long now, I noticed your avatar from a webtoon on naver and tried to find the actual webtoon itself, but could not for the life of me determine the translated title. Any help? :)

Anyone knowledgable in regards to a ToG update. SIU condition, -and if he is on schedule. Possibly a vague timetable. Thanks
-
Nothing really to report. He said something about working hard on the upcoming story. If all goes well, it should be back on the 15th. He doesn't really announce stuff ahead of time. So if the hiatus goes longer than the 6 weeks, we'll find out on the 15th if it's up or not.
-
16 char of thanks.
-
Still on hiatus. Now it's sometime in July.
-
Goddamn, dont bump the thread on a sunday; choose any other day of the week.
But I didnt really expected him to come back so early; I am assuming something like 3 months.
Anytime later and we can begin to worry about some complications during the operation (because we know how 100% commited SIU is to his work and that he would never slack off); but too much sooner and I would fear that he has not fully healed and there are potentially more health-related hiatuses in the future or deteriorating art.Furthermore, he was best when he got the larger picture all planned out over multiple arcs and the last arcs were all terrible compared to what ToG used to be, so I dont want him to rush back and instead calmly sketch out the future of the series.
-
Here's the blogpost talking about the hiatus.
TOG will continue sometime in July (he was going to take a 6 week break, but the hospital recommended taking more unless he wanted to live alongside pain for the rest of his life).
With Rachel's appearance as the starting point, he's making a completely different story.
So he thinks that he may be able to create a nice exposition. -
I almost thought there was a new chapter. Great timing, would click again.
So did someone translate that on Batoto's forums? I'll have to check out what his other blog posts say. If he's really making a different story, I expect it'll be like Season 2's intro or something.
-
ToG is scheduled to return on July 21st. It may get pushed back to August 4th since his wrist is still hurting. SIU just put a cast on and took a break. He never got the surgery.

He never got the surgery.
Aaaaaand he is still complaining about his wrist and the pains. That bodes very well for the future of ToG, huh?
Also, you should have posted the rest as well, its pretty interesting information about the new arc(s). Apparently not even the epilogue is fully over yet.
! > http://www.batoto.net/forums/topic/18311-hiatus-discussions/?p=1310014
There was like 400 questions so far but unfortunately I do not have time for all of them. But I would answer few of them.
- Book edition would come out when?
Maybe soon to come. ;
But my wrist pain has been getting in the way.
Please buy when it comes out. Haha.- Yuri. Where is she?
She will appear next episode.
- Why did Bam got haircut?
I wanted him to be back to his bright self in future Rachel-Bam situation/development.
If too many people dislike it I could simply put wig on him.- Who is heroine? There have been disputes over it.
It will be decided when I get one.
…
Joking. Calm down.- How Kuhn got Ran into his team.
They knew each other in the family, and Kuhn went and got Ran when he heard they were in same floor.
Ran is helping him because of their past.
This will be revealed more in the Kuhn Family arc later.- Would Maria show up?
Secret.
But eventually she will show up soon enough.- Can we get profile for characters?
Oneday… I will post them.
- Where did Kuhn's Manderobana gone?
Nare is taking good care of it when Kuhn left it with Leesso team.
She is still with Hong btw.
About the return date.
I am thinking of July 21th. But it could be postponed until August 4th.
About the wrist, I think I will have to carry this pain with me now.
I could go indefinite rest until it goes away, but it will be bad for everyone.
Just have to take it slow and easy.
Still, I am lucky author, being able to go on.
Next arc will begin after couple of chapters that is wrapping up the Epilogue we had.
Unlike Gongban which was a long arc, it will be 'trilogy' of arcs focusing the Train and the Hidden floor.
Also there is Idol of Tower arc ready.
And unfairness of Tower will be told.
Meanwhile the ugly secret of Great families will be revealed.
Some personal stories, mainly Kuhn and Rachel would be there too.
I hope you all enjoy what new things I attempt to do. -
He never got the surgery.
…..................Fuck.

Sounds like SIU has a lot of stuff planned for the next few arcs. Sounds good, but looks like he still can't rest properly. Naver needs to give one of their most popular artists some damn assistants. Or do they not have assistants in Korea? :(
Edit: If anyone's interested in supporting Naver manhwas, you can read the official English translations of a bunch of manhwa. Only the most popular ones are fully translated though. There's also an Android app that works perfectly and is in HD. Great stuff, really makes me admire what Naver's done for Korean manhwa. If only more Japanese publishers could do stuff like this and WSJ Alpha.

SIU has two known assistants. Sweet Pea and INES. I would think they do the coloring. At most, he needs a assistant artist that does all the drawing while he just works on the story. That way he can continue the story while his wrist heals. But yeah that won't happen. SIU is too much of a workaholic. He's never really going to quit working long enough for his wrist to fully heal which would most likely need to happen if he actually gets the surgery. In the meantime, he'll continue to draw in his new drawing style. We just have to get used to random hiatuses and shortened chapters/arcs when his wrist starts to really bother him again.
-
Damn.
Well, he probably has a good reason why he didn't go through it. I hope, anyway. I know a lot of people who get scared, postponing such procedures and hoping for the best. Me, I go under the knife ASAP if there's no promising alternative.
-
He said that the doctor recommended the cast and for him to take some time off which should reduce the pain. But way earlier, SIU said that he went to the hospital and they said he needed surgery. It sounds to me like he went to a second opinion doctor and he went with the choice that would take less time off which was the doctor that recommended the cast.
Considering this treatment didn't work, he is going to eventually have to get surgery. His wrist is going to keep getting worse if he keeping putting it off and tries to work through the pain eventually getting to the point where surgery won't even matter anymore.
-

Oh right I vaguely remember hearing Sweet Pea somewhere.
I'm gonna anticipate maybe a dozen or two chapters before SIU's wrist starts acting up and he's gonna need to take that surgery. At that point maybe he can try dictating the story to his assistants instead of typing it himself. :P

Chapter is up on LINE, translation made me want to puke but should get the gist.
-
http://m.webtoons.com/viewer?titleNo=95&episodeNo=191
We're going to have to get used to the crappy naver translations. Mangacow dropped it and there's talk that Thecompany is dropping it too.
-
Am I mistaken or does LINE usually revise the translations after initial release.
-
Naver needs a better English website, and they should've just hired the current top webtoon scanlators to do their English releases. People who actually enjoy doing this, and can actually speak English, will always do a much better job. This translation quality is absolutely hideous.
