@dailyfiber:
You make a very compelling point with Kalifa and Kaku. Kalifa didn't even have any mishaps, she used her fruit pretty much perfectly and even had a few special attacks figured out for it. Even Blackbeard was able to use the Gura Gura no Mi, although a little clumsily, right after stealing it somehow off of poor Whitebeard's corpse.
Yeah, I'd love to see someone have difficulties mastering their DFs as it to take years to master it. But really with all the complaining people make over Sabo they seem to forget that being able to do 1 or 2 attacks are not mastering the power. Besides Sabo was having some trouble, so being able to do the easier attacks like Hiken isn't master it.
Kaku and Kalifa are prime examples of 'mastering their dfs just after getting them'… and yeah I did hate that, its still annoys me

This is a little unrelated, but …
I felt that during the fight against Nami, Kalifa seemed like she was essentially testing out her new powers. The way she uses them, and how she combines them with her old fighting style, improves over the course of the fight.
I don't think it was intentional, but it would be interesting to see something similar from Sabo.
Still, Kalifa was shown not to have any difficulties.
With Kaku, he had no trouble with using his df, but when he tried a new attack blending what he knew with the DF then he had trouble. But I will clarify, it was the new and untested move he tried in middle of battle with Zoro that he had problems with, not master his DF.
If Sabo went the way of Kalifa, (he can't really since he's shown having some trouble w/DFand she never did) fans will still holler that "he's having using too easy!" . But if he had a snafu with trying a new attack in midst of battle the way Kaku did, the fans may be mollified with him showing more trouble plus not being a "Ace 2.0" … except the haters that will pounce on it yelling "See what a dumbass he is!"
Really there is no winning here.
