Really? I think that might be the best Usopp costume ever.
Well, some are definitely better than the others for sure. I think Usopp's outfit would fall under one of the better ones. The only thing I really like is Franky's hair.

@Afro:
I must be the only one that dislikes all of those designs :ninja: Every single one of them.
Besides possibly Luffy's outfit, yes. The color's are too strong and overwhelming. But then again I don't really like any drawn merch that isn't drawn by Oda.
SCultures Special Doflamingo preview:
daymn. that sure is some nice… anatomy Doflamingo's got there.
I agree, that Doflamingo is kick ass! It's from the guy that brought us Wiper isn't it?
Also, the corresponding Law is due out next month!
If he comes out anywhere near as good as the prototype then I'm all over it! but sadly I's sure the detail won't be there :o(
They are only prize figures after all…........
Wow, that Law looks gorgeous.
Wow, that Law looks gorgeous.
Yeah! BIJ had him for 1,890 yen…....1Up still has him for $25.......
I'm waiting for pictures of the final prod before I drop the $$$
megahouse needs to hire that guy. whats the scale on 'em?
megahouse needs to hire that guy. whats the scale on 'em?
Supposedly they are both 16cm tall…........That puts them out of scale with each other as we know Doflamingo is much taller, but they're still a reasonable size considering the crouching poses.
About GLM Scale I guess......what's that about 1/11?
not per se, those SCultures sizes are all over the places, some are GLM scale and some are POP scale, some are ven bigger than POP now, those newer ones like that upcoming zoro, that is massive, I have seen it at the C3 expo.

I agree with 1Up, their sizes are all over the place. Some are bigger than POPs others at FAZ or GLM scale.
Is there a bigger picture of this?
I will have most of them in a month. will scan after i will get them.
will post at minitokyo

Thanks (^__^)
I would post photos as soon as it will be ended.
That Doflamingo looks so good (but I'm not too fond of his shoe color). The only major thing I'm worried about is his stability cuz most of the weight would be on his left side, mainly the arm.
I really, really love how dynamic these SCultures are becoming and how the competition tries to ensure that every competitor puts out their best. Personally, I favor the dynamic in-action figures over the standing ones because of the potential movement they exhibit. Too bad they're only prize figurines and are hard to get.

This is beyond awsome, so many details !
Beau boulot l'artiste !
This confirms what I already knew…http://1kuji.bpnavi.jp/item/835/ … WCF 15th anniversary outfits. YAY!

That Zoro is really big.

But Luffy Nightmare and Golden Sengoku are small, probably smaller than GLM.
Scultures line has varied scales since it's up to each sculptor to choose their own size.
But the quality of recent releases is better than GLM in my opinion. Really like Hody, Crocs and Blackbeard. Their sculptors are definitely better than Megahouse POP ones, bar Ishiyama.
I was looking at documentation of Banpresto One Piece Figure tournament at their website, and couldn't help but thinking that the sculptors passion to sculpt a figure based on original designs (look at the Oda's manga artworks on their desk) finally resulted in figures that stay true to Oda's art.
On the other side, POP sculpts are getting better but I feel like they always tweak something in the design (not staying true to Oda's art) to appeal to mainstream collectors. Just look at their recent Law POPs and compare it with the GLM, MSP, and Scultures Ones.
Same as their Sailing Again series. I often see someone's POP SA collection of SHP in display and they don't look like the real SHP. :)
Btw heatachysan, great work of you over there. I especially like the first pic. Please kindly post more pics for us. It's been a long time this forum doesn't have pictures from own collection like yours. The enviousness in seeing others collection was what brought me to this hobby at first. :)

Thank you, I would soon make it but not at once because I am reorganizing my collection ^^
Hi guys. I am new to these boards but I just have a basic question. I am a big Nami fan. Which Bandai figure would you guys suggest? The SH Figuarts Nami with the customizable parts or the Bandai climatact battle version figure?

Depends what you want to do with it. If you want to pose and customize her the SH Figuarts Nami had a lot of cool face plates. But for just a gorgeous Nami mini-statue, the Nami Battle Ver. Figure is easily my
Favorite Nami ever.
So I came home and found that my Nami P.O.P arrived :D!!!

WOW, did you make all of that by hand? That is AMAZING!!!
Does anyone know what the going rate for a P.O.P Carue is? There's one on Mandarake I sort of want, but I'm not sure if it's priced well or badly: http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/item_s-573502.html
Does Mandarake always sell 100% authentic products, or do I need to worry about bootlegs?
Mandarake is 100% legit, no concern about bootlegs, as for the price I have no clue.
You should worry everywhere about bootlegs, the more for Carue. The Carue Bootlegs are well made and even comes with toei stickers….
The easier way to be sure is to check the tongue insert and the wing inserts ( in the last pics on the link below). It must be brown not yellow.
Ask Manda if they can check for you.
Pictures for help : http://pop-onepiece.blogspot.fr/2012/04/carue-bootleg-review.html
As for the price, it's in the good range actually. And if like i read here, someone asked Megahouse for reissue and they said it's not possible, if the word spread, the price will not decrease i think

Which event was C3? Was that recent, or are you referring to last years Chara Hobby?
Talking about events, we've had Tamashii, the 37th Banpresto PF and Megahobby….............we've still got CCG in Shanghai on 10th July (1 month today!). Although I'll be surprised if we even see Soldier, Rebecca or Fuji there.........usually they only have soon to be released stuff.....so maybe we'll see Bellamy's base......and if we're really lucky Rebecca and Cavandish's.........(athough LIMITED's seldom make an appearance).
47 DAY UNTIL WONDER FESTIVAL!
just saw those 15th anniversary outfits for Kidd and Law and REALLY hoping for bigger pics x.x are there any? as a cosplayer and collector MAN those look so good I wanna see better pics xD
Man….......i'm getting itchy feet again..........
Last figure was Sengoku who I received over a month ago now!! I don't want to succumb to impulse buying like I did with FAZ and Styling (although Figuarts Zero Baby 5 is out this month!!)
I've actually still got all of my Ichiban Kuji Punk Hazard prizes to unbox.......the Luffy looks very awesome!! I'm glad I got him!!
I'm still considering whether I should get that POP Kalifa............I hope 1Up sends the final invoices for Marco soon!! That should keep me going a little longer

I know that feeling, but you gotta stay strong. It will be way more satisfying to unbox and display the figures you really wanted from the get-go instead of those impulse buys that may seem attractive at first but will come to bite you in the ass (read: wallet) later on. Gotta stay strong, buddy.

I think he's going for between $300-$350 these days.
u mean this..

I guess they're only featuring pirates….though Perona isn't all that relevant anymore. I guess people really like the gothic lolita style?
But I agree that Usopp's new look is the only one that really looks great. And I love Robin so I will probably pick up some incarnation of her from the 15th anniversary line, even though it's kind of, meh looking. XD

Nice to see that Japanese authorities are taking bootlegging seriously and cracking down on these losers.

I don't get it Louis…
I'm not really good in english but i don't see where they speak about chineese authorities ans bootlegs Oo'
The guy got arrested in Japan by japan officers for selling customised figures not bootlegs or counterfeits items, no ?

So it was the Japanese authorities. My mistake.
Either way it's nice to see that bootleggers aren't getting free passes.

No problem but i think it' not bootlegs ^^'
He bought each boa for 49$, sounds expensive for a bootleg !
As i understand it, it's official products customised to be displayed with boobs naked xD
I can't picture anyone from japan buying a bootleg Boa customized for 20000Y xD

Yes they're quite clearly bootlegs. In fact I believe Cyber-Robin bought a similar robin figure in the past, and the quality (at least from the pics alone) looked very much worse off here. And you can easily find those Hancock figures on eBay or TaoBao (probably), maybe $49 was for the higher grade bootleg. Still, it's very rare to hear of people in Japan resorting to such methods to make money. I thought they were better than that. Maybe I'm over-generalizing here, but the whole thing about them being prim and proper and looking after others' needs sometimes at the expense of their own, it's their culture, it's in their blood.
When i started this hobby i bought a zoro pop for 50€ so it's possible(it was in 2006/2007)
Japanese are ready to pay a lot to get something they love.
If that Japanese guy bought real Hancocks to then customize and sell them, I'm not sure whether that counts as a bootleg. If he made them from scratch, though, the case's pretty obvious.
Does anyone remember what the official name was for the Luffy/Ace/Sabo sake cups set that was available a year or so ago? I'm trying to hunt one down, but it's immensely difficult without remembering what it was called exactly and who made it…

Of course it does. That's the entire reason the guy was arrested for selling them. It doesn't matter whether you create your own original or modify an existing product. If you attempt to profit off of unlicensed merchandise then you're a bootlegger. How well they were sculpted or modified is irrelevant.

That's a grey area for me. The guy supported the industry by buying the real products. What he did with them later on should be up to him and him only. Sadly it came into conflict with the law and he was arrested for selling his personal modified goods which he had previously legally bought. I wish the Japanese police would spend more of their resources on tackling the omnipresent sexual harassment problems in their country instead of hunting collectors. But that's just me~

These people who make a living off bootlegging were a major source of frustration to me when I first started my business. From my perspective it was very disheartening early on to realize that I was at a severe disadvantage because I chose conduct my business honestly and according to the rules, I have zero respect for people who opt to take shortcuts at the expense of others over making an honest living.
EDIT: That was a little off-topic. I see where you're coming from. There is a distinct difference between someone who modifies and resells on occasion and someone who does it on a mass scale, but my criticism and disapproval of the practice remain consistent across the board lest I appear hypocritical. I don't approve.
