Ugh. Another hard to track down WCF set. Looking forward to spending 10k yen because of that stupid Diamante ratio. I think at this point Banpresto is just trying to drum up interest in One Piece again. They went like two years with having really decent ratios and this only started back up with the Sabo set. Not surprised that they're doing what they can to gin up interest again though. OP merchandise has crashed due to 1) overexposure and 2) a manga that has (imo) mostly sucked since the timeskip. But I'm with sensui. Collecting OP stuff used to be pretty great. Camping out and trolling websites for new stuff has given me fond memories. Hopefully, Oda-sensei can get OP back on track and start the hype all over again.

Off-topic, but I gotta ask: why does Banpresto refer to Sabo on all their figures as "THE Sabo"? What does "Sabo" mean?
-
Having just watched the latest Funimation DVD, I want a Camie figure.

They did the same thing with Ace, Shanks and I think even Zoro. shrugs

I must say, it is a great time to pick up merchandise in general with the exchange rate and recessed pricing. All sorts of figures from the rarest to popular I've seen just can't fetch any sort of real premium anymore. I didn't really buy that much since I'm just collecting certain lines like WCF/POP and some Banpresto stuff I find attractive most the times (excluding my kids and my new love for tsum tsums)….but man temptations a plenty with the pricing right now. Will probably be putting up some MISB POPs that I have stashed away here in Japan for cheap also soon for members first before I send it out to auctions.
It's a strange feeling seeing tons of figures with prices that range from 'WHAT A STEAL' to 'CRAZY EXPENSIVE' in stores. Unless you own a giant space to store tons of figures, luggage space might the only thing that would lessen such temptations .
I'll be heading over to Japan later this year. Most of the new Scultures will be out be then, so I'm hoping that I can find some at a decent price in display stores. -
Well, these are the only figures shown in WonFes. Nothing new except for the 1st glimpse at Luffy SA Ver.2 and painted prototypes.
Luffy Ver.2
!
Corazón and Kid Law.
!
Robin-chwan (I absolute adore her face) and Hancock BB Ver. <3
!
And also the Action Figure Nami.

Will get the Robin and the Nami Variable. Looks like Mihawk is getting a Variable too. Just as long as it doesn't impede getting the rest of the crew this is fine cus im really sick of lines doing all the fanservice characters

Thanks for sharing…......great to see Luffy, he looks promising, but a shame he's not painted yet...........I guess we won't be seeing hi released any time soon.........
-
robin looks like a cow :getlost:
Hancock and Nami perfect -
I hope it's just the shot angle but ver. 2 Luffy's legs seems a bit short. :wassat:
-
Wow… i'm so not impressed :(
I'm probably gona buy Kid and Killer ( can't find him thought) then if there is nothing to be released exept Corazoon in the next months.... I can't care less about a new Luffy....
Congrats Megahouse, you really managed to kill the line... There was a time when figures where produced in reasonable numbers ans were instant sold out even before released.. Then they became greedy and flooded the market with countless chopperman, bikïni and useless new versions again and again...
Now even crazy bargains don't help to sell because when sometging is available for everyone it become comon and useless ...Somehow, i wish they 'd announce the end of the line so i could consider my collection complete and probably start collecting Berserk.
-
I love the poses and faces on that Nami amd Robin, but I could stand to see their busts reduced quite a bit.
Luffy ver 2 looks good. Im hoping for some alt Haki parts.
-
That Luffy looks fantastic, this might finally be the one guys… lol
-
Luffy looks weird all grey, i will wait for colored prototype before judging if i get him or not, As for Robin she is looking good despite her big boobies, i'll do an exception!

So are there no August MegaHouse One Piece pre-orders? No new Variable Action Heroes, POP, or anything? :(

We'll know on August 2nd/3rd.
-
Anyone else ordering this beauty? http://www.tsume-art.com/en/product/barbe-blanche-hqs
That's by far their best sculpt so far, imo. Also, totally happy they went with a dynamic pose. -

Like Louis said, we'll find out next week. Probably Wednesday/Thursday. Robin and Corazon + Law next POP releases for December, so expecting one of them. Megahouse turning their attention to other lines now though with the slump in One Piece popularity. I'm done after Sabo….until we see Luffy painted.....hopefully at Chara Hobby in 3 weeks!!!

-
I need chapter 795's end character as a POP .. I hope they don't wait forever to make him.
-
^Kaidou's figure would be huge though. Along the lines of WB in terms of height but it would be a lot more massive due to different build.
Still, should it come out at some point (along with Big Mom's one) I'd need to track down WB and Shanks to complete that impressive line-up.
-
oh yeah I'm sure they'll tone him down like WB/Moria/Franky. And in terms of large builds, they did a decent job with Shiki and Kidd
-
Anyone here has a scan of banpresto catalog for the rest of 2015? I'll appreciate any pictures.
-
Apparently Corazon and Law release date has been pushed back to January, it looks better this month, still unsure to get it or not, since exclusiveness game is irritating me now…
-
Megahouse August pre-order announcement didn't include anything for One Piece:
http://www.mechanicaljapan.com/2015/08/novedades-megahouse-para-agosto-de-2015.html#more -
Those Wonfes reveals are so..disappointing.
-
Megahouse seems to focus more on other popular series than one piece now, it's been a year or more than they offer less interesting POP's, among all the release i only bought 3 POP's in 2014 and 0 this year (not that they offered anything interesting for the moment) the one i want the most is Law 2.5 not even interest in Corazon/Law one anymore, POP line is slowly dying imo.
-
I am so sorry everyone, but I think it may be my fault.
I started to collect One Piece Stylings
I then moved onto the GrandLine Series
Then I moved onto POPs.Im jinxing the lines. Look at what's happened to previous lines. It's me!
Don't worry, I won't collect Figuarts. That line should be safe…... I hope.
-
I really was expecting more from WF too, but at least we got colored protos?? Ehehehe…
I'm trying to back out of the collecting scene for awhile @_@ So I'm kinda sad, yet glad, Corazon/Law is getting pushed a little further out... Helps my wallet a bit. So many September/October pre-orders though @_@ I'm seriously going to be peeved if we don't get a Gladius POP (but it doesn't seem likely at this point).
Damn you got pwned!? Muscle trimming, jeez. I feel you, at least you're dealing with it well. Soon you will be able to have him out, so I know you're looking forward to that :P
A little over a month and my life is so much better. The only pain is still with this knot in my back that doesn't want to go away easily. It's stupid, but it's the one thing keeping me from going back to work DX But now I feel good enough I can adjust some stuff around and get Croc out. I'll do that soon~
-
Hey everyone, popping in for some actual discussion (maybe) .
Has anyone documented their collection for insurance purpose? Any advice on how to do it or personal stories? I've just got POPs in my collection, and I'm moving out on my own. Any advice or stories?
-

Nope! Apparently they've just announced that they're. Unsurprisingly. Half Arsing the special line they were doing. So Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Robin, Franky and Brook that we saw a few months ago. THEY AREN'T COMING!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! WELL DONE FIGUARTS! YOU HAD ONE CHANCE TO ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING WITH THE ONE PIECE LINE AND YOU BLEW IT!!!!!! …. Yeah. Not particularly happy at all considering they pushed these aside for Ace, Sabo and Law as per usual. Here's hoping that Megahouse at least redeems by getting the whole crew out in Variable Action Heroes. But won't hold my breath

General renter's insurance should be fine. You can just declare you want x amount of coverage and get that. Take pics of your stuff and upload it to a cloud somewhere since apparently having pictures helps when/if filing claims.
-
I tried but they would only cover what you paid for them and not the market value. That's because market value could be whatever it sells for which varies a lot. Let's say they can go by the lowest sales or the highest sales or somewhere in between. So, yeah.

I've never seriously considered insuring my collection, but suspect I may need to…......having collected over the past 10 years I probably have the following:
73 x Megahouse Portrait of Pirates (and counting)
11 x Tamashii SH Figuarts (and counting)
3 x Megahouse Dimension of Dragon Ball (and counting)45 x Medicos SAS
17 x Max Factory BFC/BFW
14 x Bandai Stylings
7 x Kaiyodo HNK 200X
6 x Medicom RAH
5 x Tamashii Figuarts Zero
4 x Banpresto Ichiban Kuji
4 x PLEX Figuax
3 x Banpresto DX Soft-Vinyl
2 x Max Factory Figma
2 x Medicos Super Figure Art
1 x Organic Big FigurePlus a bunch of Tamashii/Medicos Effects, Stages & Onomatopoeia parts and a box full of old MacFarlane Anime and MGS figures.....
That's over 200 items and if on average they were £50 each, (some were less, others a lot more) that's £10,000 worth of plastic in my loft!! And that's not even including all the Manga and DVD volumes (I know my DBZ Dragon Boxes alone must be worth £500+).
I think I need to get this stuff insured!!

Yep i did that long ago but you need every single invoice depending the insurance company and that's only for the buying value covered…
They asked me to bring an expert in this stuff if i wanted the " extra value" covered wich i didn't do yet -
Once you insure your home can you include your valuable stuff?there must be a special clause in the insurance contract,at some points…
-
Renter's/Homeowners insurance covers all of your personal belongings in the event of fire, theft, etc. Like I said, it's a lot easier to file a claim if you have proof that you owned certain things. I've never had to file a claim, but from what I've read having pictures or video of your stuff should get the job done. I'm not sure having invoices/receipts for everything you've ever purchased is necessary, but I guess it wouldn't hurt.
-
Yeah, those are all good pointers. I don't know if I could get the invoices for all my figures. I've counted up to 43 POPs. But , I'm sure I could find most of the invoices in my email somewhere. I ended up getting renter's insurance for a good amount, following the advice. I think once I move I'll take the pictures.
-
I am sure this was posted but I didn't see them so here they are some not so news pics lol
-
Thanks for these Lexiy…........although i'm way too late to jump on the WCF bandwagon now, especially having see your collection!!
10 day countdown to Chara Hobby expo!! Does anyone have the slightest bit of optimism? POP Luffy painted perhaps.........??
Seems there is very little for POP collectors to discuss anymore...........will the main discussion thread ever see a ver.11........or is it doomed to die at ver. 10............

Absolutely zero hope. Even if that Luffy was a million time better than the others, i can't care less about a new Luffy…
People says if Megahouse release not majors characters, they will not sell... Kid and Killer are still flooding Nippon Yassan shop. And if it was the case, why WCF and its legions of characters is so popular ?
I hate Megahouse for what they did to my favorite line but with so many people more into boobies and bikini than One Piece itself, why would they release something really canon ?There is such a huge hentai market, why people feel the need of OP characters with mega boobs or half naked or even pregnant :'(
PS : i mean no disrescpect for boobs fans and hentai fans, it's just that i hate it when it's mixed with One Piece.
-

Errrrrrrrr, what? I don't think I've ever seen a single scaled figure of a pregnant OP character, official or not.
-
Sex sells, nuff said. One Piece's bubble burst and Megahouse found they couldn't sell people some of the minor characters anymore. Remember when the likes of major characters such as Kizaru, Akainu, Blackbeard, Eneru and Perhona warmed the shelves? Or the fact that Kid, Arlong and Killer were boxed too big and nobody bought them. Or the likes of Horn Point Chopper (still the last GREAT figure Megahouse put out.) and the Z line warmed shelves for month (hell you can still get these incredibly easy just about everywhere.) most of these proved to Megahouse that simply pumping all of these out just wasn't gonna cut it anymore. So we don't get them. Now they're just trying to pop out what is popular, or what they think will be popular and making to them to order by putting them in the limited line. But this isn't just Megahouse either. Figuarts we are lucky if we even get Nami, Usopp or Robin these days. Never mind past villains or god forbid someone like Franky or Brook. Banpresto seem to be the only ones who give a damn with the releases like the 'I wanna live' line and the creator showcase (a new one was announced btw.) which even then they are playing it safe by flooding us with more Ace, Zoro, Law etc. As for WCF. Honestly I lost track of them when they stopped coming on most of the sites. But there's a huge difference between a £7 figure and a £60 figure. Let's face it. We are not gonna get Magellan, Buggy or Cesear anytime soon. Just be glad you got the likes of Vista, (remember him? Anyone?) Arlong and Roger when we did. Do expect more Law, Sabo, Zoro, Ace, Luffy, Boobs and actually sellable characters in the future however.Personally my only hype from Megahouse atm is the Variable Action line, but even that I'm not holding my breath that we will see Robin, Usopp or Chopper from it.(apologies for the hard to read post, my computer hates Arlong Park's format for some reason)
-
^^ I'd be shocked if MegaHouse doesn't do a Chopper on the VAH line. They know that once they make that mold, they can repaint Chopper three dozen times and loads of people will buy him every time.
I think POP Buggy is a possibility as well, since he's a Shichibukai. Every single Shickhibukai and Admiral we've seen has been made as a POP, and I doubt the series' first and longest-running villain will be an exception.
I definitely agree on pretty much all other points though, sadly.
-
Woohoo…..I actually sparked some conversation!!!
But sadly for the wrong reasons...........it's true.......One Piece merch just aint selling and now Toei has it's cash cow back (Dragon Ball) all bets are off for when it will make it's big come back.........give it 2 year whilst DB steals the limelight with Super and I bet OP will rise to popularity again........so many come and go fads over the years (Death Note, SNK, Terraformars to name a few), but OP will always remain a true classic............
Sadly I'm off on the DB bandwagon with DOD becoming my new POP.............but i'm sure i'll be back
-
Hey Kanji, mind a photo comparing SH size with Variable action figure and the JOJO medicos, plz?
-
I don't really think that the reason something isn't selling is because a company did something wrong, but rather that One Piece's popularity really went way, way down. We are truly lucky we got all the side characters that we did in lines like POP.
I just hope the line won't die out completely like most of everything OP-related did already. It was what initially got me into collecting and up to a certain point was my main thing. Even though I'm far behind on POPs at the moment due to financial and mostly SPACE reasons, it still would be uber sad to see the line close entirely or at least stop for a significant time period.
I really didn't think a time like this will ever come, not while manga is still being published. I mean, look at Dragon Ball, it's still super popular in the figure market after so many years…
If my own interest towards One Piece haven't tamed a lot as well, I think I would have been deeply heartbroken by this turn of events :(
-
@Al!naJames:

Yep you can find many characters from One Piece and others manga pregnant on yahoo auctions… Try "pregnant Nami figure" on google pics, the first result is a copy of nami v2 naked and pregnant for exemple...
I saw way more gross, crazy and weird stuff on yahoo auctions thought... -

Yes, just take pictures of everything to be safe and keep them.
When the house flooded last year, they only had me take pictures of the damaged items and their values. They advised me to find listings online of everything, so I found what I could or close to it JUST to be safe but it wasn't really a requirement (in the case of my tiny bookshelves, they're so old I couldn't find the exact listing so close enough was fine). I don't think they required me to do anything other than send them pictures of the damaged items. But of course, all this may vary by insurance companies, so definitely keep track as best you can what your stuff costs if needed be.
Thankfully in my case, no figures or other collectibles were harmed, my room and the hallway were the only spots that escaped flooding xD

Hey Lex, sorry, hadn't forgotten about this, but haven't had a chance to take any pictures with the mrs. about (she still doesn't approve of my hobby). Will do either Friday and next week.
