Never could get people who tend to quote and respond to a post at the start of discussion that went further than the original post. Why is that?
Chapter 735: "Fujitora's Intentions"
-
-
If my memory serves right Viola can see everything in a 40 km radius from where she is. Now my only doubt is if this kind of visual prowess is the X-ray type (as in she can look through the house roofs). Because if it is her head must be overflowing with information, I'm surprised she doesn't suffer from constant headaches with that power of hers
-
If Franky has upgraded his centaur move I'm hoping it goes from centaur to unicorn and then pegasus. An Unipegataur Cyborg would be much appreciated. Even if the original centaur was pretty useless…
I could definitely see him having an upgraded version. The pegasus sounds kind of wild but I like it. Haha the original was useless. It was only used to freak people out…and beat Fukurou.
-
If my memory serves right Viola can see everything in a 40 km radius from where she is.
What we know about her clairvoyance power is that she can send out her sight "like a bird" up to a distance of 4000 km.
The distance is from the name of the move, "senrigan", which literally translates to "thousand ri sight", which is equivalent to about 4000km. However, the name is a pun, because "senrigan" also means "clairvoyance". The specific capabilities beyond this are presently unknown.
I could definitely see him having an upgraded version. The pegasus sounds kind of wild but I like it. Haha the original was useless. It was only used to freak people out…and beat Fukurou.
Nero, not Fukurou.
-
In my book Sanji needs another beat up, I call it 'The Realization' but I know that Oda won't let Sanji get beat up to the point where he might end up being kidnap as some people suggested but rather he will be save by "That person" who is heading to Dressrosa right now or he just get beaten up (Which I'll enjoy) and taken hostage or that person is actually a toy that will run wild after Sugar is knock unconscious (I rather see the latter though).
That's impossible considering that was the point of this chapter here. So I don't see any of the Strawhats struggling again anytime soon.

@Lady:
A great chapter.
! If you noticed what Sabo said, "It might cause a bit of a ruckus, but I won't be too hard". Sabo is confident that he's going to win The Corrida Colosseum tournament. I wonder how strong he is.
At the Toy house, I think it's gonna be Franky versus Senior Pink, Mach Bice and Vice Admiral Bastille since they're technically allies. That's a tough situation. I'm not sure if Franky can handle that.
Also, Fujitora is not just a plot device. Love that panel when he said, "Completely destroy the system of the Ouka Shichibukai". He simply emphasizes on getting rid of the system, not the warlords. Nothing indicates specifically eliminating each warlord. I'd like to see how it'll affect the balance of power. Supernovas are the 4th world power at the moment, more or less, but instead of keeping the balance they will destroy it.
Anyhow, I expect some of the Warlords/Former Warlords will go to SH's side in the end. There is only 3 world powers WG/Marines, Shichibukai and Yonko. Supernova is not a world power but a name given to anyone who has 100+ bounty in the first half of Grandline.

Since we see Franky fighting, I wonder if he has more aces up his sleeve, like the good 'ol centaur-mode. Since the TS he has those 2 scars on his body and yet I wondered if they're just left from the explosion at Vegapunks island or if they hide another of Franky's "inventions". I drew a pic of him how I imagine another purpose of those scars:
http://i42.tinypic.com/23m56pl.jpg
I drew his endoskeleton just like we saw it right b4 the TS. But he could hide anything else underneath that "drawbridge".I think that the bottom part, abdomen, still contains the cola tank.
Maybe the scars are part of the conjunction of his body, when he will transorm into something absurd (like centaur), the five parts of his body will move.
Maybe he has equipped himself a form of security device such those on jets, if his body is destroyed his torso can be ejected away and survive, after all his vital parts are all there… He is a ciborg, he would survive without legs and arms.
Maybe both. Maybe he hides a super ultra mega beam under his torso... Maybe... Maybe... I am dying of sheer excitement!!!
-
Well all he sensed was some negative presence. Didn't know the specifics. Fujitora is probably much better at it but it would suck if he could exactly pinpoint what's going on everywhere around him. Which was partly hinted while he was levitating that battleship. But that's my personal preference. Don't like it when there are a lot of characters who can sense everyone. Kinda removes the surprises.
On the bright side, chances are, Fujitora is probably the best Observation Haki user in the world, due to having to live with blidness. Don't think his level of sensitivity is something we should expect from many characters.
nah buddy I disagree, Enel is the best observation haki user(COO+ his fruit Enel could hear what people are saying and attack 'em from miles away not just sense em), so until someone can do more than that then Enel will keep being the god of COO haki.
-
I can't help but think that Viola's plan is not good. Using a "secret" entrance is a great idea, but what if Fujitora - for example - uses observation haki, wouldn't he be able to say "Hey ! Some guys are using a secret passage over here ! Maybe they brought ramen !" ?
I mean… any user of observation haki can make this plan fail easily... Or maybe I missed something ?
EDIT : Sorry if this was already posted/if I made Enlgish mistakes
It's not like they have any other choice.

Yeah, that's what they said.

.
Man being able to pinpoint a needle in a 4000km radius is wild. I wonder how she copes with it. My bet is that she carries a whole lot of aspirins to handle any migraine when it kicks in due to data overflow…
-
So what are the possible match ups, inside the palace?
Luffy vs. Joker
Fujitora vs. Zoro and Kin'emon?
And if Franky gets away against 2 of Joker's executives and a vice admiral, then he's stronger and resourceful than I expected him to be. -

I got the impression she had to specifically activate that aspect of her power, rather than her just seeing everything all the time, and that when she does she focuses on specific things i.e. the Sunny earlier in the arc or Rebecca earlier in her life. (You'd figure if she could see everything she would know the reason for the lightning bolt that she told Sanji about. I guess she could have been lying to get rid of him though.) We don't really know the specifics though, so I'm just trying to rationalise it in a way that doesn't make it outrageously overpowered.
Besides which, a lot of fruits seem to come with innate protection from any negative effects they might have on the person eating them. Maybe it's in the nature of the fruit that she doesn't get overloaded. She is 'a person of insight' after all.

And if Franky gets away against 2 of Joker's executives and a vice admiral, then he's stronger and resourceful than I expected him to be.There are way too many Family Members at this point to figure it out. 14 including Dofla, 13 if you discount Violet. Then if somehow Vergo and Monet magically escaped death on Punk Hazard then that is 15. There are 6 strawhats including Kinemon on Dressrosa, clearly not enough to fight everyone. We might see a cool little fight between fujitora and Zoro but in reality he will most likely fight Pica.
So maybe it goes like this?
Luffy vs. Mingo/ Controlled Law
Zoro vs. Pica
Kinemon vs. Gladius?
Violet Vs. Baby 5?
Wicca Vs. Buffalo? (Lol)
Ussop Vs. Sugar/Jora (That would be trippy as hell)
Robin Vs. Trebol
Sabo Vs. Diamante
Franky Vs. Dellinger, Lao G, Senor Pink, Machvise ( He needs this fight. Would be amazing)Who even knows.. There are just way to many possibilities. If they take out Sugar then there are like 20 other characters introduced in this arc that could have prospective fights. The only two that I could actually see that happening to however would be Cavendish and Barto.
I just want another arc that ends with beautiful streamlined fights. That hasn't happened since Enies Lobby.
-
nah buddy I disagree, Enel is the best observation haki user(COO+ his fruit Enel could hear what people are saying and attack 'em from miles away not just sense em), so until someone can do more than that then Enel will keep being the god of COO haki.
I meant beside Enel. Mentioned him in my previous post, btw.
Can't top Enel, simply because his df amps up his Mantra, like I said.

This is a decent speculation, that lightning thing was no lie, if I remember correctly Fuji claimed to of heard lightning about the time Violet was telling Sanji.
-

Yeah the lightning bolt itself wasn't a lie, but she might have couched it vaguely so that Sanji would go help the Sunny even though she knew that Nami brought the lightning and that the danger from Jora was already dealt with at that point. Or, she sees things more vaguely than that and didn't know the reason for the lightning bolt. Hard to tell at this point.

About Doffy controlling Law and using him to fight Luffy..
I'd love to see Doffy do that and then say something like "What are you going to do now, Strawhat?" Which Luffy would respond to by jet bulleting Law to the face without a second thought and the both of them (Law and Doffy) being like WTF?!
-

Ummm what about 'NO'
-
Ummm what about 'NO'
I know its silly as fuck and Oda has something way bigger in his mind but really, IF that happened, would Luffy choose to not hit Law like a Fairy Tail protagnoist, or would he punch him into a wall like the idiot he is so he can get to Doffy faster?

Luffy is the type that doesn't think things through but he knows in the state that Law is currently in, so I don't think that he will just punch Law also Doflamingo have better luck using Riku than Law since Violet is with them.

This situation intrigues me.
Doflamingo was all confident on his "trap" for Luffy, and while Luffy didn't shrug off the possibility of getting the fruit (as some people predicted), it still would be sweet to see the moment Luffy does something unpredictable (i.e, be himself) and leave Doflamingo gobsmacked.
I'm not talking about an Enel face or something like that, but the shit is going to hit the fan for ol' Dofla very soon. Hohoho.
-
I was always under the impression that Luffy would defeat Doflamingo with Law's room in affect.

What an insightful reply…
Edit: On a different note, if Franky does indeed end up beating 2 or more DD officers he´s bound to get the highest increase of bounty from the whole lot. Oda has been portraying Franky as a force to be reckoned within the Sh´s group so taking his bounty near sanji´s wouldn´t take me by surprise. As in for undercover missions Robin is probably the best one to pull it out smoothly, and Ussop is doing a decent job so far, I like where everything is heading
-
He's used it against Fukurou too.
Oh, shit, you're right!
Well, it worked against 2 CP9 agents, so it wasn't that useless.

how strong do you guys think bastille will be comparing with vergo .. he always strikes me as one of the strongest vice admirals
also people seem to forget about toy soldier in the palace match ups .. he can fight u know give him baby 5 or something -

also people seem to forget about toy soldier in the palace match ups .. he can fight u know give him baby 5 or somethingHard to tell where Bastille stands in all this, we actually haven´t seen him fight. Even if he was in the war of the best his screen time was a group shot and maybe the random fodder dealing nothing else, so his capacities and abilities are still to be seen. As for toy soldier I honestly believe he will serve as another plot devide to infuriate Luffy Further. The LS gives me just that kind of vibe

Whats with momonosuke why is he so important?I cant figure it
out, and is kinemon really his dad? -
There is a theory that Momonosuke is the prince of Wano country and that Kinemon is lying about being his father in order to keep his identity a secret

I think I first heard it from someone who was looking for a reason why Kinemon could stay as SH, or something.
I guess it's possible, but they did give an impression of family closeness. -

I guess it's possible, but they did give an impression of family closeness.Yeah, they certainly haven't slipped up yet. It comes across pretty naturally, so either they've been carrying out the deception for a long time (i.e. since before they left Wano) or they're both very good actors. Kinemon might be disciplined enough not to make any mistakes, but Momo is only eight.

They should have slipped up at this point if they were just acting.
Especially when Momo thought Kin'emon was dead back at Punk Hazard. He still called him "honorable father".
EDIT: Oh wait, I just noticed something that might change everything.
Seems like Momonosuke did in fact hesitate on the way he was going to call Kin'emon. They might be acting after all.
Here's the small slip-up. "Ki… Ki...!! Ahh...!!!"

maybe but wasn't law enough ? his fighting style was interesting i was hoping to see him in a real fight
I kinda expect Sugar will be put to sleep (not like the pet) in the middle of his fight, so he'll suddenly come back from a pinch and fight with his real strength.
that would be awesome i really need to see his real fighting skills , specially if he really is kairos
pica vs soldier "in the human form" should be interesting -
You don't get unsconscious when you sleep, guys.

Interesting. Amazing how just one thing would be enough to foreshadow something like that. I suspect they would have to have been quite close on Wano for everything else to fit - they definitely have a bond greater than just liege and vassal. Still, it opens the possibility right up.

I always thought that was just him exclaiming his father's name because he thought he was dead.
-
I don't think that's what the scene was meant to convey.
He was shocked to hear his dad's name and his death proclaimed and was repeating it to confirm. -
I always thought that was just him exclaiming his father's name because he thought he was dead.
It's not common for children to call their parents by their names when addressing them though, and every time after that he calls him father. So far as I'm aware, the first syllable in 'father' in Japanese isn't 'ki' (unless there's some obscure or archaic form that he uses because of the samurai thing) so in this case he's almost certainly about to say 'Kinemon'. On the next page he says 'honourable father' instead, as if correcting a mistake.
It could just be us misinterpreting though. It is a pretty minor thing.

He had no idea his dad was on the island and wasn't expecting to hear someone say he was with them.
Again in a panel before that in 693 he expresses shock when he hears the name. It's a common thing in this medium for someone to hear a familiar name and then repeat it to confirm. I don't see the hangup. -
I don't think that's what the scene was meant to convey.
He was shocked to hear his dad's name and his death proclaimed and was repeating it to confirm. That's a valid interpretation, though it's still suspicious how long he took to properly adress him by "father". The shock would definitely be enough to make him slip up.
The "Ahh…!!!" is the most suspicious part.

I don't see the hangup.Yeah, but in the panel before that you're referring to, that's him repeating it to confirm he heard it right already. After that it seems like he's addressing Kinemon directly, though it is a separate panel so it's pretty ambiguous.

I know that i'm suuuuuuuuuuuupar late with this but here is my review for chapter 735
-
I think I first heard it from someone who was looking for a reason why Kinemon could stay as SH, or something.
I guess it's possible, but they did give an impression of family closeness.Momonosuke most probably IS son of shogun of Wano and I would not be suprised if Kinemon would be "only" his bodyguard that kind of is rising him in a way, or was ordered by shogun to take care of Momo since he was born.
Kinemon would not like anyone to know about true identity of Momonosuke. It would make most sense for me as aloso Momo saying that he will be future shogun and this way a revealing a bit of a secret would fit fine with fact that he is still just a little kid and not adult understanding that out of secrets like this one nothing should be spoiled. -
Have you considered that Momo might infact be the son of Kaidou.
-
Have you considered that Momo might infact be the son of Kaidou.
Not really. He could also be Fujitora's son, but I haven't considered that either.
-
Do you people think that Oda will make the mistake of having Sabo wearing Lucy's Beard? because when Luffy removed it Kinemon's power means it will change back right?
-
Do you people think that Oda will make the mistake of having Sabo wearing Lucy's Beard? because when Luffy removed it Kinemon's power means it will change back right?
Sabo's beard is real and identical to Luffy's false one. End of discussion.
