Tie between Sci-Fi and Gangster movies (the second one including films like Pulp Fiction, but also something like The Godfather or Goodfellas).
i like all kinds of movies, provided they are good. However, i tend to gravitate towards sci-fi (the matrix being my favorite movie and my third favorite movie of all time), horror, and movies with action in them(way too broad a catagory, i guess) like gangster films with the Godfather 1 and 2 at the top of that list and my list
I tend to go for more comedies than anything else, but do enjoy the occassional sci-fi flick (The Fifth Element and War of the Worlds (2005 version) are my favorites). I enjoy animated movies, too, provided the story/characters aren't so kiddified that I lament for my wasted $7.
seven? try 11 in new york
I also forgot comedies. Gotta give a shout out to one of my fav's "Dont be a menace to south central while drinking your juice in the Hood"
I've got a thing for psychological thrillers.
so like Se7en, Clockwork Orange etc
I like action movies, comedies and of course animation.

Clockwork Orange is more of a dark comedy than a thriller. Definitley my favorite Kubrick film.
I personally have a tendency to like Sci-Fi/Fantasy films myself.
I like sci-fi/fantasy(favorite movies Fifth Element, Matrix, Dark City which i like more then the Matrix, The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Serenity. Hated all Star Trek movies, the only ones i liked were Wrath of Kahn and First Contact)
But my absolute favorite movie is The Shawshank Redemption.
Comedys and Dark Comedy's also, Horror Comedys lol
In order of the ones I like most to least. Drama, action, and comedy.
I love a movie with great characters and dialogue. When I'm bored, I love a good action movie, even if it has little to no plot. Comedy is alright once in a while, I'm not too big on laughing.
Well my favorite would be Martial Arts, which are pretty much the only non-animted movies I've watched in the past few years with a few exceptions. Though I also enjoy some Sci-Fi.
I am a big fan of old, epic action movies such as Spartacus and Zulu. I guess you can sort of throw The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly in that genre because of its length and scope. If it can balance action and comedy with some real wit in there, more power to it. Black-and-white dramas such as Casablanca and Citizen Kane are always great to watch. Of course, a good animated film is worth seeing too.
By the way, in my opinion, Dr. Strangelove trumped Clockwork Orange, but, given my tastes as shown above, I have a far different set of movie preferences.
Tim Burton's movies. And martial arts films. I'm particular to Jackie Chan.
Good movies.

Mother ****ing WIN!
and as a sidenote Strangelove has the single BEST movie Title EVER
HORROR! Though horror mostly has the stupid ones…aside from chick flicks...ugh
Schlock, exploitation (all kinds), b-movies, cult classics, chambara, film noir, spaghetti westerns, horror (all most all kinds), gangster (mainly yakuza) and those stupid Saturday night movies on the Sci-Fi channel.
