There's a huuuuuge amount of shit we don't know. I'll list a few of them here.
We don't know if any more of the 0th Biotope fights will be shown. We only saw the four guys we had seen in the past arcs being defeated. We don't know what the black tentacle thing that seemingly killed them was. There needs some conclusion about what happened to everyone else at least, even if there aren't any big battles.
We don't know what happened with Rin or Mansam either. Seemingly Shigematsu just left.
We don't know what Ichiryuu's Full Course does, just that somebody's gonna have to cook it now.
We seemingly know that almost nobody knew about NEO except Ichiryuu. Though as someone mentioned it a bit further back, he does indicate he knows there's a "true enemy" with Melk I and Atashino present.
We don't know who Joa is, what the Factor of Evil is, or if the revived Frohze is really Frohze or what. The weird earrings and lines on her face suggest she's somehow not normal. On that note, we definitely don't know Joa's motives at all. Or why he sent the Four Beast to Earth, or whether he thought it would defeat the Four Heavenly Kings or not. Seemingly Kaitora revived it on Joa's orders.
We don't know if the cure water, Midora's tears, or whatever the hell revived her. Or if she's revived. Or how that relates to the Factor of Evil.
We don't know how much of the Bishokukai was in Neo, but it was seemingly a lot of it.
We don't know if anyone else in Ichiryuu's faction was in Neo.
We don't know what'll happen to the IGO now that like, every bureau chief is dead.
We don't know what the goals of the rich dudes in Neo are. Or why they're collaborating. They seem to think Neo is creating a new society for the rich and powerful, but it looks like Joa's goal is to reach the Final Land.
We don't know what the Final Land is, just that you need Acacia's Full Course to get to it.
We don't know jack shit about Acacia's Full Course. Pair seemed to be a sentient being because Frohze kept saying Ichiryuu could talk to it and it would tell him things. Nobody was going after Center in the chapter where they went through all the teams. We also don't know shit about Center or why it's so important that Acacia hid that away specifically. Seemingly the others being "sealed" meant other people could still get them and that's what Ichiryuu and the 0th were doing.
We don't know Starjun's goals. It seems like he took Komatsu because Komatsu has extraordinarily high Food Luck and is also a skilled chef. So it seems that he would be a key to getting God or perhaps getting to the Final Land. Starjun knew about Neo, but Midora didn't. Which is very disconcerting, it makes it seem like Starjun has an agenda that's entirely his own. Like he personally cared about Komatsu for some reason completely outside of everyone else's goals because he perceived his Food Luck.
We don't know anything about Toriko's origins.
We don't know a lot of Ichiryuu's motives. But seemingly he didn't tell people about a lot of shit out of fear of pushing people in the wrong direction, or information getting leaked to Neo.
We don't know the motives of the Blue Nitro. The Blue Nitro seem to come in all different shapes and sizes based on that silhouette. But it looks like the Nitro Toriko met in Vegetable Sky was one. It's possible we will learn a bit more about them next chapter.
We don't know what'll happen to Human World as a result of the Meteor Spice. But it looks like the Giraffe Birds are there to stop… something. Ichiryuu says he can keep people from dying.
We don't know if Ichiryuu's dead, but he might be. He kept talking right after Midora said "You'll die if you keep talking."
We don't know Grinparch's motives if he even has any.
We don't know if Coco's alive or what the hell he's been doing in that hole. Or if Grinparch ate him or whatever.
We don't know who the Eight Kings are really. Several seem to be related to beasts we've seen so far.
We don't know what everyone's going to do in Gourmet World once they get there, which is probably where the story will go next.
We don't know what's up with Mohyan Shaishai except that he's seemingly the top-level Saiseiya and is part of Neo.
We don't know who in Neo is in there as a result of Joa's Flavor Change and who's in voluntarily.
We know Sani and Branchi are okay, but seemingly they're exhausted and are just standing around now.
We don't know what's going on with Cooking Fest now. Which chefs are still alive or not captured, things like that. There's a whole bunch of people that could be dead. Dunno what happened with Chiyo and her grudge with Setsuno. We also have no idea what Master Chin is doing. He's the only member of the 0th Biotope that hasn't been in this arc. Oh, also we don't know what Rala is doing or where he is.
We don't know how much Setsuno and Jirou know. But Setsuno's collaborating with Ichiryuu in a couple scenes indicates they're at least in the same confidence as is the 0th Biotope. But Setsuno didn't know anything Ichiryuu just told Midora, or know anything about Joa or Neo. Jirou at least indicated he knew Ichiryuu and Midora were fighting. For some reason everyone could head those last bunch of words Midora said before he used Meteor Spice.
We know a lot about Midora now, but not everything. Not exactly why his cells sorta forced him to use Meteor Spice like that. He's an interesting character, I'd like to see what he does now. Seemingly a lot of the Bishokukai's probably dead or deserted. I don't see him "becoming good" or whatever. The story isn't a black and white portrayal of good guys and bad guys, clearly. But the fact that he's the strongest member of the Bishokukai means he's definitely powerful in the grand scheme of the series. We don't know what he's gonna do now. Seemingly he won't have an easy time getting all of Acacia's Full Course right now.
We don't know what's going to happen at the Gourmet Solar Eclipse really. But it'll probably mean the Blue Nitro will play a major factor.
We don't know Acacia's motives. Seemingly getting God and stopping the world wars was not his final goal. His ultimate goal was reaching the Final Land which he didn't achieve. Now the modern day characters are trying to do that. They've definitively said Acacia is dead, I'm pretty sure. And he sealed away his Full Course. We don't know how he got the scar on his forehead. On that note, almost everyone's scars could have weird origins now. don't know all that much about his relationship with Frohze outside of them being combo partners. We don't know what exactly he did to seal Jirou's enormous strength.
There's probably a lot more I'm not thinking of where Shimabukuro did one of his "Someone says a line and you're not sure what they mean or if it's important" lines. Just in general, there's plenty we don't know and I'm interested to find out. What I like about this series is it comes off as very planned out in that most of this was foreshadowed. But also that we sort of have this history of "things were bad, then Acacia fixed everything and so now we live in this great age." But now we're finding out about Acacia as a person and he had goals and things he couldn't achieve. Mistakes and disasters and all that. Now it's showing the cracks starting to open up. Joa was originally hinted at waaaay back in Ice Hell. Before even Ichiryuu was introduced. We got a lot of information about how Gourmet World works and how there are these superpowerful beasts like the Mother Snake and Battlewolf there that ruled over the place. We saw all these super-strong figures like Setsuno and Ichiryuu, but now we're seeing what the limits of their knowledge and strength were. We got information in terms of "legends" and now as the story has moved forward we're getting them in terms of "authentic accounts". Bits of information are layed in, then they're later expanded on. The world expanded enough to the point now that we know its limits, and now it's going into depth on many things that've only scratched the surface early on in the series when everything was all sunshine and butterflies, Toriko and Coco fighting beasts that weren't really even a challenge to them and all that. The imagery and feeling of depth, characters and impact of the larger plot are what I like about this series. How there are some short missions but they involve development of characters that are now blowing up in the face of these revelations and conflicts, and the plot is becoming infinitely more interesting. (As opposed to say, just having a bunch of arcs where our heroes fight and kill one of the Bishokukai after another.) But the focus of the overall story stays on Toriko and co. These other things exist to the degree that we know some things about them and how they connect to the overall story, but they're not the "focus". How our characters deal with them is the "focus". If you examine each arc going back, you can see how these are laid out, but it's not overbearing or having heavy planning, politics, or stories about dull side characters that don't seem to matter. So that's why I kinda get annoyed when people say the story's just crazy ridiculousness, or they only like the food imagery but nothing else, or whatever. There are very few fights in the series as a whole because each character has to have their pseudo-scientific power development and character growth, they all have impact. And the villains or beasts being defeated have to mean something to the plot, it's never just "going down a list" or "showing off" or "trying to give them something to do". So, there's my two cents on the story so far. Somebody let me know if I missed anything in terms of major stuff we don't know, or if we do know that stuff.
