I want to keep my friends. I dont want to be alone.
Your goals in life.

Hmm, well, I want to ensure that all of my siblings get the best possible education.
I want my mom and dad and everyone whoever supported me to be proud of me.I want my dad to not a have a care in the world when he retires, I want him to 100% feel that he can depend on to be everything for my family me and I want that feeling to be true.
I want all of my brothers to grow up and become better men than I am even, because they have potential and qualities that I do not, so I think it would be a shame if they don't.
The last two are solely about me.
1-I want to have bestfriends whom I can go crazy with like I used to do with my old friends. I don't like these half assed friendships that I have all that much, they feel fake when I compare them to my old friendships
2-I want to marry my girlfriend, I know I am only 19 and people would say that I am too young to think about marriagem and its kinda true since I have to finish college, get a job,and do all of the things I mentioned above before I can go for her, but I really can't even start to think that I'll ever meet a person who's gonna love me like she does, and thats why I want her to be mine forever.

My goals in life are pretty simple.
-To work out a systematic exposition of the most fundamental truths of existence and formulate a comprehensive, coherent, logically complete Theory of Everything that will demonstrate the unity of all sciences and the interconnectedness of existence itself. The scope is intended to surpass that of Hegel's and Marx's systems. Postmodern criticisms (along with all the post-stuffs) and Godel's Incompleteness Theorem will be dealt with properly.
-To fully integrate this theoretical knowledge into my immediate perception and practice.
-To bring about positive social changes following this theoretical framework.
-And if I have time left, to produce an illustrated narrative that will serve to convey the core messages of my philosophy and theory. All of these goals are simply the results of a radicalization of my innate tendencies. I have always wanted to move in this direction, but I only became systematically self-aware about it one or two years ago, partly brought about by the academic environment I now live in. Either I accomplish my goals or die trying. It's always like that for me.

It's surreal to look back at my posts in this thread, LOL.
I support your endeavor, Shipmate. :)

8 errors out of 99 isn't so bad.

I have short term goals in life i want to
-Learn java
-collect one piece stuff
-buy a house -
- Open a company that will work with all kinds of games: board games, real life games, educational games, digital games and so on. Experiment a lot of stuff there.
- Build a house with secret passages and a slider.
- Scientifically prove life after death.
- Do all that without loose touch with friends and family.

I'd really like to learn Japanese eventually I think. Not any time soon because Ive currently had my fill of skool, but maybe a few years from now. I'd like to learn Arabic and French too eventually.

I overheard a couple chatting on the tube on the last stretch of my 2hr 15min journey home from work today (half an hour longer due to flooding) about how they had plans to get enough together in terms of money and security to be able to go travelling a lot. Get a place with their loved ones, even if only rental, so they have someone to come home to in the evenings. And eventually get good enough in their jobs that they don't need to work as much anymore.
I realised those are pretty much the same goals as me. And that scared me because if we all have very similar goals, how many of us are ever going to achieve them?
-
^ make lots of friends in various fields of life i suppose lol
Travel now, even if you don't have much money. Try to save up for one trip a year

Right you are there.
Only just got into a position where I'm not having my money trickle away on food, rent and bills with nothing coming the other way. Also, I don't get all my holiday days to begin with, they add them gradually, to stop me from potentially taking a few weeks paid holiday and then quitting the role. I have huge travel plans too - crossing Canada by rail, exploring the mountains of Arunachal Pradesh in India, crossing South East Asia, seeing Antarctica…but these are all beyond my reach this year. Instead, I can do little city breaks instead - I have friends in Prague and Stockholm who are happy to host me, for example. And just see how things go.
Also gives me time to find a travel partner. A lot of my friends are willing, but they'd need to be able to do the trips too...and it'd be even better if I had a partner I could travel with, y'know?

Move from regular software development into games development.

Yess! I see that with alot of my peers going off on exchange, and it sucks that i can't make it. Reading about places and actually being there are 2 completely different beasts altogether. Have you considered AIESEC? Being a member gives you access to overseas members who could help to arrange accommodation at little to no cost. Budget airlines are pretty cool in keeping costs low too.

yeah :) I had a prof in my undergrad who would pepper her lectures with these incredible stories about visiting other countries: getting kicked out of the Van Gogh museum in Switzerland, visiting some obscure sex temple in India, etc. For a few years, I actually had planned to do a trip around the world because of her. I took a trip to Italy one year however, and though the sights, art, and food itself were incredible, the people I went with really almost ruined it for me… It was a big financial strain too, and in the middle of a semester too lol. Really made me realize that it's not where you go, but who you go with. I've had some incredible experiences visiting another state/city just because the people I went with wanted to have a good time and go on an adventure WITH me. So by all means, you can have a really memorable experience for cheap the next town over :)
Anyways, I did ask my professor one time how she was able to travel so much as an artist, and she said that she took gigs writing articles for journals and magazines. So if you're a writer (or photographer I imagine) you could probably find people who'd want you to help document the experience.

I just accomplished one of my goals when I graduated from university last Dec. Now I am focusing to finding a Job that will pay decently so I can work towards some other goals. I want to buy a house, nothing big and I like the older houses that have character. My other big goal is to travel. I want to visit Japan first, then go around the UK, and I'd love to see Greece and Rome. I love history and I want to visit places with historical significance.

those are good goals. i'd like to learn japanese too it would be so helpful in watching anime and learning more about the culture. it sounds cool too

One of my goals is "Perfecting my english language"
= )
-
Just keep practicing, Mr.point! Reading and writing in English is pretty good, so joining and English speaking forum is actually a pretty good idea! :)
I always wanted to learn Mandarin Chinese but I have absolutely no talent for the pronunciation of tonal languages. Other than that perfecting my Spanish and French would be really cool.
-
Thank you , minus.
I read ONE PIECE in English to improve it.
And novels like "The Alchemist".I love reading.
-
^Somewhat ironic because "The Alchemist" was first published and written in Portuguese, so really it's a translation. But hey whatever works.
-
what do you say about ONE PIECE ?
it have been written in japanese.
The same thing in The alchemist. -
My ultimate goal is to be free… more than anyone else, and live my life however I want. No matter how many times I think about it, that doesn't change. And Ace didn't have much influence...
Oh and to never lose myself.
Well these are quite selfish, but can't help it.
All other goals are spontaneous and depend on a situation after all. -
what do you say about ONE PIECE ?
it have been written in japanese.
The same thing in The alchemist. That is also true. I just pointed out the alchemist more because it's in a book format as opposed to be supplemented by drawings.
-
My ultimate goal is to finish college, get a fulltime job and buy a house.
-
My goals are to get a successful job that involves programming for either popular software or MMOs, and to learn Japanese, for obvious reasons (to make the entertainment more entertaining XD lol).
-
I don't want for my life to have a destination. If I have a goal then it's to keep improving myself and getting better at things I'm interested in. Just floating in life is fine enough for me. Of course I still have things I want do archieve, but I wouldn't call them as goals of my life.
