I was never that interested in Star compared to the other bishokukai members, but I'm actually somewhat interested now, since Shima has been teasing us about if forever

I agree with Sheep on this. Tho I´d really really like to see how the other fights are going even if it´s just a page or two. It´s been three months since the Branch Chiefs showed up and three of them haven´t moved again yet.

I disagree with you two about Starjun. He was, for me, the most anticipated Bishokukai member. Because he got real chances of bringing deepness into the story and he looks like he could move on to the even very last chapter of series.
I like his character because his calmness reminds me off myself to be honest. Look at how he fights… Almost sober and an analyzer. He still seems like testing Toriko. I still can't see Toriko winning this because- He didn't attacked for once
- Doesn't use even his very basic heat moves
- I really believe he does have last moment options like Toriko and Zebra
So Toriko might gain the upper hand by winning the round but I still think Starjun would/will win the battle -There is a chance for Joa's interference or Setsuno's attacks might be so devestating that it would effect them anyhow.
All i can say about the chapter is how much i loved it! I love the chemistry between them! A criticism is possible in my point of view and that is page 4 and page 5 could have been summed up to one page.
Faces Toriko made after getting face to face with Star is spectacular. And on top of that look how Starjun is analyzing and looking closely upon Toriko while he is in that wild state.
I don't have many ideas about what this ultimate routine will be so i'm looking forward to it. It's probably something you can use only when you're fasting but other than that i have got nothing. Anticipating the next chapter.
Although some of you didn't find this chapter very interesting i disagree with you and suggest you to read between lines and focus on art. It might help.For the chapter i've kinda unsatisfied with the translation. I wish kewl were to visit here once again so he can clarify a thing or two. But whatever he does his work.

I never said I wasnt anticipating his abilities and actions tho, I was eager to see him and know more of him as well. But I was more interested in other characters, and still am.
That I prefer other characters doesn´t mean I don´t value Star and what he can and will do. And I obviously know that since the beggining he was more important and relevant than most of the other Bishokukai members…
But I run a Cedre blog, need to know more about him asap :C

By the way, Staa still has that Mixer punch and apparently everyone here forgot it.
So unless Shima pulls a Rasengan on the character this means pretty much that he still got other techniques that he's about to show.
Also, to everyone complaining about the slow chapter i agree with you but i personnally consider this to be a special case since Toriko's evolution against Staarjun was something Shima was cooking (get it ?) since the Puffer Fish arc, YES there wasn't too much to show aside from the Regal Mammoth and the restaurant bits but there's atleast something here.
The main problem imho was Shima not balancing well between Foreshadowing and teasing, he wanted to show that Staa is a great hype but didn't want to show much at the same time and got somewhat confused which led to either people getting too hyped for nothing (Dragon yay) or just being too indiferent to that guy.So this chapter had to show Toriko's base power compared to the older Toriko in the previous encounters (there's also the new techniques and stuff but eh, that's another story).
Thus Staa testing Toriko and the latter showing more stuff is all preparation for the real climax fight that should be a back and forth with blood baths and testosterone jizz.
Also the outcome will be around the draw, either one of the two wins by a very slight advantage or there's a draw and in both cases there'll be a forced retreat a la Raoh.

i hope there are more to the chapter than just power up explanation. i hope we got to see how the other fights going on with power up explanation back and forth. it is ridiculous if it just power up explanation. Shimabukuro need to stop doing all this super long fake science unimportant power explanation during a fight. just a little bit is okay. if you want super long one, do it outside of a fight. what a great fight need are story and build up, emotion, what at stake, strategy, mind games and awesome choreograph. and not all those super long fake science unimportant power explanation.

Some of us (including me) just likes to read the chapter without getting flustered about what's what. Though from week to week I've been enjoying the complaints from people… I don't know why... but...
If its naruto or bleach or op that people are complaining about, I get it because they're story-driven... but toriko? hecK even I admit there's no story in toriko. Maybe that's why I find it so amusing really. It's like you guys are complaining about something that's not even there in the 1st place...
My logic is flawed, so don't get angry at me. Carry on if you like to, always voice out your opinions.

Here's what I said last week.
! And I know that Toriko has mentioned the pre shot routines multiple times before, but once again that seems like a scene that probably should've been fleshed out or not just shown right before Toriko is about to bust it out in battle.
! I'm glad that the technique is being explained. Don't think it needed a whole chapter though. And I still stand by the idea that this probably would've been better suited before the cooking festival began and not right before Toriko was going to bust it out. That said, the fight hasn't had momentum (for me), so this interruption doesn't matter to me. Which while I'm fine with it just made me realize that's also a complaint…still think I'll like the chapter though.
! Actually I'd thought you (Area51) would've complained since there's a chapter delaying the fight. I don't agree with your opinions all the time on this thread, but I do respect that you enjoy your chapters by your own opinions and don't base your opinions on whether to like a chapter on other's opinions. -
