Shut up and take my money.
One Piece: Unlimited World Red (2014 Worldwide Release; 3DS/Wii U/PS3/Vita)
-
Shut up and take my money.
-
Oh hot diggedy dog, this looks good.
-
Do you think some of the Strawhats will be able to swim this time?
I sure hope so.
I really want to use Blue Walk. -
-
I won't be able to play this….. Damnit!
-
PLEASE COME OUT IN THE US!
Seriously, One Piece is back on TV, the manga is selling relatively well, and it's a consistent long running series for both Funimation and Viz. It may not have the big numbers of Naruto, but certainly enough to warrant the game being released. I'd even take them doing an e-shop only release in the US (like the Pirate Warrior games) if they couldn't do a physical release (though I would prefer the latter).
Looks awesome! The graphics look great and I really like the visual style. Seems likely we get all 9 Straw Hats as playable…would be cool if they threw in Jimbei, Smoker, Law, and Kinemon since they're so prominent in the New World. Jimbei is pretty likely to join. Law and Smoker are major allies. Kinemon....well there's debate about what the future holds for him. For now though, all 4 are major long-term allies and it would be nice to get some fresh faces on the team. I know they probably won't be on Sunny, but it would be cool to unlock them. I could see at the very least Law and/or Jimbei. Technically Kinemon could too since he was aboard Sunny from PH to Dressrosa. Smoker seems least likely.
-
I'm happy as long as the main 9 are playable for the main game. Which will happen. Can put whoever they want in the optional stuff but they need to fix the vs mode to really make me care.
Glad to see Chopper forms back too.
-
The thing i liked about the unlimited series is that they had characters you wouldn't usually see playable. Like paulie and garp at the time for instance. I hope coby and helmeppo are in this as we've seen them timeskip
-
I hope we get online multiplayer because I have 0 friends with a 3DS irl.
-
Have characters from both Pre and Post skip and we have a deal.
-
Well I'm going to assume their old Wii/3DS games roster is still part of the game hopefully, add atleast 4 or 5 more characters and its fine by me.
-
Don't care much about the roaster. I've always loved the single player mode. I hope it doesn't suffer at all due to the co-op addition.
Graphics look improved.
But catching and fishing still featured.
Attacks look more fluid.
Environments look almost as good as the previous ones. All good so far. I've just begun a second playthrough of unlimited cruise 2. I really hope they keep all the attack leveling and 'customization' and item scavenging. As long as they only add to the game…
I'm really only hoping for Smoker and Caesar in the unlockable mode. Don't really care to see anyone else: they're all on the old games.
Kinnemon and Law would be nice additions, though.
Any translators around? I see no release dates or anything on the website.
-
Pleeeeeeeeeeeease come stateside! Please!
Or else I'm gonna have to import a Japanese-regioned 3DS.
-
I considered that, but remember how difficult the materials and item collection/demands are without English. Plus, I already spent money on the European 3ds. It just better come stateside or to Europe.
-
As long as it's an original story, I will look forward to this game.
-
As long as it's an original story, I will look forward to this game.
If it's anything like the previous Unlimited titles, the story will be original for sure
-
Yeah, I used to think a game that followed One Piece's story would be amazing. …then Pirate Warriors came.
I still think it can be done well, but PW didn't do it well. They just took the environments and turned them into battle areas.
-

Replace Pirate Warriors with Romance Dawn (PSP) and that's what happened to me.

Considering this one is called red i think it's safe to assume a sequel will be on it's way that continues with same features and levels like in the first game.
I thought i'd make a list of all the potential characters that would be in this although it could change due to the arc. Both games had 15/16 boss characters so i'm gonna assume it may very well be the same so i'm only putting the 30 i think will be in: (includes manga spoilers)! Dragon
Aokiji
Doflamingo
Smoker
Caesar
Hody
Law
Kinemon
Caribou
Monet
Van Der Decken
Bellamy
Bartolemello
Perona
Tashigi
Coby
Helmeppo
Vergo
Jinbei
Kizaru
Cavendish
Fujitora
Eustass Kid
Hawkins
Apoo
Baby 5
Diamante
Chinjoa
Boa Hancock
Rayleigh
! I'm gonna reiterate that i don't think all these characters will be in red but split out between red and it's sequel. I expect most of the dressrosa characters to be in the sequal but it could easily change depending on what happens. We could get a CP0 character or jesus it's just to hard to say atm -

Would trade all of them (no idea who Diamante or Chinjoa are at all. Tournament Fodder?) for Magellan to be playable.
Chinjao he had a typo there but I'm assuming you don't pay much attention to the series if you don't know who either of them are but yes I would prefer Magellan to either of them.
-
i did spell it wrong. It's Chinjao according to the wiki. I would love magellan in it but despite one cover in the manga he hasn't reappeared yet in the manga so i don't think they'll include him
-

I don't see characters from this arc appearing, I see stuff till Punk Hazard being ingame.

That's what i meant in the end about not all of my choices were for red but also for it's sequel. If i remember right unlimited cruise 2 had kizaru and Kid in the game despite neither appearing in the anime yet and only just appearing in the manga. They could put some in but not in red
-
Since this is an "Unlimited" game they could really pull in characters from any point in the series (heck we had Calgara in the previous ones)
so there is always a possibility for some pre-timeskip characters (I wouldn't put it past them to include the pre-timeskip strawhats somewhere like maybe boss rush)
I predict (hope) that they will find a way to include everyone from Unlimited Cruise SP in somehow, (like how cruise got everyone from adventure in it) plus some new bosses.
like I said earlier I think Hody, Decken, Caribou, Law, Kin'emon, Caesar and Monet are most likely and Smoker Jinbei and the strawhats will be replaced by their timeskip forms
-
Is it worth it to buy a euro 3DS to play the unlimited games and pray for a euro release on this one? I live in the US and I highly doubt they are gonna release this here. the game looks fun to play and much better then the musou game for the ps3

Look up gameplay videos. I think it is, but you have to like item scavenging and leveling up characters. It's a huge game. You'll certainly get the hours for your money.
-
I think he may be asking about the chances of a localisation.
While I cannot answer that, as I played the Japanese versions on the Wii…
I can say that it is a lot of fun and will certainly use up a lot of hours.
My Unlimited Cruise Ep2 has maxed out at 999 hours and 100%.
Item scavenging, levelling up moves, catching critters and sea creatures, finding hidden treasure, reading poneglyphs...If there's one thing I kinda hope they implement in this new game...
It's that the Strawhats don't just fight differently...
But also have specific environmental abilities that are crucial for advancing to certain areas.
That, I think, would be the best way to include non combat abilities like Brook's astral projection, Nami's Milky Road, Robin's Cuerpo Fleur...Sky Walk...Trampolia...
And please, somehow let me fire the damn Gaon Cannon. I have to do that at least once in my lifetime. -
i just realised, in the others you had cooking, medicine and item building in order to get stats up and get better equipment and that looks to be returning (which i hope they make more reasonable this time round) but they could also do gardening now considering usopp now uses plants for hsi moves. I don't know what it would do for non-usopp members but it is something i just thought about on the fly
-
I sure do hope that Gabri will be in this game.

Hm…gardening huh?
Interesting idea, though I'm not sure what you could do with it.
Especially since gardening in games tends to involve watering and giving some sort of care or treatment at least...
If they do implement it, besides growing new moves for Usopp, I think they can also grow plants/ingredients that could be used for Chopper's medicine or Sanji's recipes.
Still don't think they'll do it, but it's an interesting new mechanic that could be added. -
I absolutely love the side games in Unlimited (bug catching, fishing, trapping), but I fear I'd hate gardening.
-
i hated fishing. The other 2 wern't so bad but fishing really rubbed me up the wrong way. Also the amount of items that could only be got once. I wouldn't realise and end upusing them for something else and then not being able to get some kind of ability. I remember in UC2 i never unlocked the gum gum bazooka because of this
-
I wasn't good at the fishing I must admit.
-
I don't know how fishing works on the 3DS…
But in the Wii versions,
Fishing is only really annoying in the beginning portion of the game or so...
When you only had a teeny bit of rod power.
Once you've upgraded everything to max,
Only Sea Kings would drive you nuts.
I have fun showing the (smaller) fish who's boss by just holding A and never letting go nor changing directions.
Surprisingly, it's easier to catch a Beat Alligator this way. -
Yeah. I hated the fishing, but grew to love it once I upgraded my rod and figured out the tricks.
-
Looks amazing.
Guess there'll be an European release. -
Better be, butterbee.
-
I guess I'm getting a euro 3DS these unlimited games seem like the perfect one piece video games to play I got tired of musou real quick with the repeative game play about how many hours are put into getting 100% in unlimited?
-
I got my 100% after 999 hours.
But I was dilly-dallying most of the way…
If you really focus, you should be able to 100% it in...
Half a month, give or take.
But why would you rush it? -
Wasn't Doflamingo playable in Unlimited Cruise?
If so, I wouldn't be surprised if him, Caesar, Vergo, and Monet are revealed to be unlockable characters.
-
I'm still hoping for Magellan…
And if we're ever gonna get a playable Foxy (besides the Grand Battle series),
The Unlimited series is our best bet.
I also kinda hope they improve on some of the character's movesets...
Crocodile, Aokiji and quite a few others are severely lacking... -

Neither would i. I hope they make better though. I remember he had bellamy in his move set and could also control your partner character lol

With 100%

Yea…I kinda went around doing silly little things before I actually focused on getting 100%.
Furthermore, I didn't bring the save file over, which means I started from scratch on Cruise 2 to get 100%.
Going through the entire game once ought to take a few days.
Going through it two more times, maybe a little over a week.
Levelling up all the moves to Max, you'd be close to 2 weeks by now.
And (not required for 100% but I did it anyway) maxing out all characters' HP and SP will take even longer... -

I did all that for pt 1, but saved the multiple playthroughs on pt2 for another summer (this summer!).
-
I can't believe they are going to make a one piece for the 3ds….finally but my poor wallet. Maybe I should just get a separate bank account for just 3ds games because lately Nintendo is killing my wallet.
I always love the Unlimited series. The adventure and the free roaming is what makes One Piece games feel like One Piece.
Plus if this game is really big they might even make DLC for it and we all can go broke together. -
I really love the Unlimited series, it was full of OP love from the creators, you could feel it with every move you make in the game.
All of the abilities the character uses looks just like Oda's drawing, you can find hidden Easter eggs everywhere, for example, in UC2, did you try catching the electric spiders using Sanji? :) I remember getting the idea in my head, I was like "no way" and I was shocked when it actually worked.
Finished UC1+2 on the Wii, and both 100% on the 3DS. -
I was surprised too when Sanji freaked out at the spider.
I don't remember Sanji being afraid of spiders in the manga though…did that happen somewhere?
Robin also showed disgust at catching a poisonous scorpion. That was a nice touch.
Oh, and of course, unlike other series where Pandaman is a straight up usable character, here he's a well-hidden Easter egg. -
IIRC Sanji freaks out at all of the bugs. Him and Nami were doing so in Jaya.
But agreed, loved all of the little things, especially Sunny. Where Chopper had diseases for everyone on the crew (except Robin) and Luffy trying to peek on Brook using the toilet
