That one is hilarious. Some other good ones are Foxy, Buggy, Usopp, and Chopper. Chopper's is still my favorite of all time, though.
The only one that borders on badassery is Aokiji's. He just lays down and goes to sleep. Kuro's is pretty sweet, too, I think he says the line that he says to Butchie and Siam about being gone for so long, though I can't remember exactly what.
For those curious, here are the funny failure animations listed above:
Foxy: If I'm not mistaken, the Foxy Fighter misses and he goes flying off into the stratosphere. I may be wrong on this one, haven't seen it in a while.
Buggy: After he gets hit by lightning, he falls over instead of loading the Buggy Ball.
Usopp: After the smoke star, he is supposed to start a huge hammer combo when the smoke clears, but instead, nothing happens and when the smoke clears you see him running off into the distance.
Chopper: He throws the Rumble Ball, and… Misses his mouth. He just stands there dumbfounded, staring at the Ball on the ground. You have to see it. -
How do you get those? I've gotten Chopper & Shanks to stop their specials
but it's been at random. -
You're energy and your opponent's energy have to be far enough to where you'll do the first two animations, but not far enough to kill the opponent/finish the attack. You get used to it eventually…
For Foxy, after the Foxy Fighter misses, he stands dumbfounded and then says something and runs away.
-
That really sounds difficult.
-
It's not really difficult. All you really need is for your health to be less than your opponent but more than… o, let's say about 30%.
-
have yours at about 50%, and theirs could be anywhere else except equal to or less than yours. Works EVERY time. CHOPPER'S IS SO CUTE. I saw it the first time I played, and try to make it so I get that one all the time.
-
I've never seen Chopper's before. I've also never seen Kuro's, Nami's, Aoikiji's or Enel's.
EDIT: Just saw Zoro's. He let's go of the hilts of his swords, and says something.
I'll see if I can get the rest later.
-
i want to see fukurou and sogeking in the next?
-
Zoro grunts in pain, Eneru and Kuro kind of walk away. Not sure about Nami's (never played her, I made someone else play as her to get all the unlockables), and if I remember right, Ao Kiji just kind of yawns and stops attacking.
-
I thought Zoro fell asleep. XD Nami runs when she sees that you're unconcious… >_>
-
I'll try it when I get the chance.
-
I just ordered it from play asia.
-
@Cap'n:
Does anyone kn ow if the 55 characters means 55 playable, or is that counting support too?

-
You unlock Shanks by beating Super Hard mode with Luffy.
You unlock Mihawk by beating Super Hard mode with Zoro, but you have to beat him after being hit by his secret attack (It doesn't matter if you use continues) and then finishing him with your secret attack (Sanzen Sekai).

firstt of all the question you quoted is like a year old and he has the game.
and for unlocking shanks:
unlock very hard mode and play as luffy in very hard mode. Then shanks should final boss. Reminder you have to finish shanks off with your secret attack
Unlocking mihawk:
this is a pain in the ass i am not going to lie. First pick zoro very hard mode. Then you must face mihawk. He has to use his secret attack on you first then you must finish him off with your secret attack >>. I think you can die after he uses his secret then you can just fight him again and finish him off with your secret. That's what i did i think.
-
No problem for me,i mastered Zorro and Luffy already.but, how to unlock super hard mode.
-
I think you have to beat everyones story mode.
-
You have to play hard mode with at least 10 different people.
-
So, does anybody else feel "We Are!" may need to be retired for the next installment. Or do ya'll still like it has the main theme of the games?
-
Personally I'm neutral about it since each Grand Battle game has featured two different versions of We Are!, it would be intresting to hear something original though.
-
since this thread is resurrected again
I'll ask my questionsalternate costumes, how to unlock'em?
last time I asked I was directed to destroying all the columns in training mode as well as doing every special move FOR ALL OF THE MUGIWARAS
did so, and nothing happenedthen I did the same thing FOR EVERYONE
(with exception of Mihawk cuz I haven't unlocked him yet)
nothing happenedso~ what am I doing wrong?
or do you have to unlock Mihawk in order to unlock any secret costumes? -
Well, I don't know any song that could replace "We Are!"… None of them has that original-ness feel...
Only Strawhats have C and D. C is gotten by completing training mode (break all pillars and finish their movelist) Do that after unlocking Mihawk. D is gotten from using each Murigawa in Event Battle 6 times or playing Grand Battle with each character 30 times... (In all, the total is the same; 30 battles.)
-
Kokoro No Chizu has had a big effect on One Piece fans so far. Maybe that song would be good. Plus it has lasted has the opening for quite some time. But that's just my opinion. heh
-

It's very odd that I see 30 battles everywhere else, but I managed to get Luffy's and Zoro's with only 25 battles. I beated Event Battle with both of them at the hardest difficulty and got my battle results stuff. They're at 25. I'll need to change it on the site soon..

ahh, thanks, guess I have to unlock Mihawk first
SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH~~~~~~~~…gonna be hell...
-
I wanna ask….
How the hell do you get Crocodile to use the knife. Every once in a while he has it, and I wanna know if it's just random, or if you need to do something.
-
Hmm don't know about Crocodile using a knife but I think it's possible for him to remove the covering from his hook by taunting (could be wrong though).
-
If you take the cover off his hook by taunting, he gets his poisonous hook. I think you get the knife by getting the poisonous hook, then getting hit while defending… Not quite sure, though, as I never play as Crocodile and my brother's really careful to not break the thing... XD

That is accurate.
Just take off the cover and block a bunch of hits, and the hook will be replaced with the knife. -
Is the knife anything special, like does it do more damage?

Well, I know that I beat Event Battle with each Strawhat exactly six times… (I beat it on every difficulty, then beat it two more times) >_>
ahh, thanks, guess I have to unlock Mihawk first
He's a pain to unlock in the JP version… I wonder why Bandai toned down the difficulty so much... In GB3, the AI spammed specials and guarded everything in the harder difficulties (although their aim was... bad...).
Oh, and FYI, you have to get him to use his level 2 special on you, and then finish him with Sanzen Sekai... >_>;
-
You could mix and match with Grand Battle and Event Battle. 3 Event Battles and 15 Grand Battles, etc.
-
omg…what the??
I took out my battle rush and spent hours trying to get Mihawk
and got majorly pissed at Nami and Buggy cuz they're so darn cheap
(threw my controller for the first time in 4 years, lol)
and I could never get Mihawk to do his special
or when he does, i dont have enough life and diesbut this one time it went really well
and I got Mihawk to do his special, then I did mine special and beat him
but I didn't unlock him o_O;;what went wrong >_>??
I didn't die once when I was fighting Mihawk
I may have died once and continued when I fighting the previous battles
I used Zoro, got Mihawk to do his level 3 specail, and I did my level 3 special as well
but yet I didn't unlock himfrustrated
can someone explain to me what I did wrong? >_>;; -

level up?
you mean the A+Y –> glowing thing?I'm not sure if I did that or not
but I'm positive that I ended the entire fight with a level 3...scratches head
-
It's strange but, you don't have to survive Mihawk's special to unlock it, you can use a Continue and then defeat him with Zoro's Ultimate…
-
I think you have to die eggy by his special because i had that same problem then used my special to kill him next
-
Or just whittle Mihawk's health down just low enough so that he does the entire move but doesn't kill you and follow through with the Three Thousand Worlds.
-
That's what he did, and it din't work.
I died and got it, so I think that's what's supposed to happen.
-
Well it has been awhile since I unlocked him and I know it wasn't a walk in the park for me so I can sympathize here.
-
I think you have to die eggy by his special because i had that same problem then used my special to kill him next
well, if that's the case this makes it alot easier x_X;;
I'll try that out tomorrow
thanks~ -

Wait till you heard "We are" Straw hats version(all of the straw hats members sang execpt for Robin),it can be downloaded at http://gendou.com/amusic/?filter=One+piece&match=2,you have to be a member to do so.
-
So contrary to what Katanajon said, you CAN use Luffy's other costumes and have Afro Luffy's special (you have to select him by pressing start). Also, on Ganbarion's website, there was a recent update about this game and if babelfish is any help (it isn't…) I think it's just the Bandai staff thanking Ganbarion for their work on the game, possibly hinting further collaboration's between the two companies (despite the fact that every game they created aside from JSS has been published by Bandai).
It could also hint at the developer for the "rumored" game mentioned in the spoiler thread...

I never knew that. Going to test this out.
EDIT: Holy crap, it's true.
-
Yay, thanks for that info
-
Interesting, that's new to me also. heh
Oh, and to AoKiji, yeah I've heard the SH version of the song, and indeed it is great. I wouldn't mined hearing it in the next game. Thanks for reminding me.

…When do you press start...? >_>
-
You press start where you would usually click O to make the select costume screen come up. Or are you playing it on the GameCube?
If so, then I suppose you press it in place of the usual button you press that brings up the costumes.
And it seems to work the same if you pick Afro Luffy with the start button, he will do Storm with the Afro on. heh
-
Wow! o_O
I think it looks kind of weird… XD >_>
